Chapter 7: Getting results

Chapter 7: Getting results

Two years have gone by. His fortress is probably in the safest place of the wild hills. It is livable but there are no beasts. No beasts also means no beast groups and no beast tides. But it also is a place where food is abundant and rabbits can reproduce.

Outside of this long valley he seeks out a few weak beasts. They are good for sparring. But only if they are alone.

And the bunny experiments are bearing fruits. They can get accustomed to the live draining energy. And they are still fertile once they leave the region. They are not only fertile, they are really horny even. Probably they just have to give away all the excess live energy.

After this discovery Lie Mo starts accustoming himself to this live draining energy. In the first year he builds himself a shelter in the flat desolate region and spends as much time there as possible.

Then in the following year he does the same in the white stone region.

In the following two years he spends as much time as possible in the white pebbles region.

In the next five years he spends as much time as possible in the grainy sand region.

And after 13 years of living in the wilderness he finally steps into the white powder region.

He feels as if his live drained out of him. But he can move in it for a while. But then he has to stop again. Apparently this is not enough preparation. He is not strong enough to walk towards the skeleton. And even if he would reach it he has to go back again.

Even though he can move freely in the grainy sand region he can barely walk half the distance to the skeleton. That means he has to train some more. An entire year passes until he is confident in walking towards the skeleton. As a side project he also trains bunnies to walk in this region. Perhaps they are still needed tor the pink pool in the middle.

Finally he is ready. The sky is blue, the powder white, the pond is pink and he is ready.

He approaches the skeleton.

He doesn’t have much time. So he just brushes the powder away and leaves again. After a bit of relaxation he goes again. It takes several trips until the skeleton is free from powder. There is only one thing that the skeleton has – a ring. And of course its bones. After taking a look at it entirely he goes back again.

On the next trip he brings with him a leather sledge. The perfect size to pull a person. Or a skeleton. After a few trips the skeleton is on the sledge and is pulled back.

It takes another few trips to check that nothing is left behind. And then the fun starts. Looking at the skeleton.

Lie Mo takes upmost care that nothing gets damaged. Every bone is looked at from every angle.

He has never seen bones that clean. They are made of perfect white. And they are perfectly smooth. It looks like they are sculpted out of marble and don’t belong to any deceased human being.

After he put back the bones in the respective order he looks at the ring. He looks at the ring from every angle.

It is a gold ring with a blueish green gem on it. The gem is big and has no further decoration. There are no symbols, no letters, it is just a gold ring with a gem.

But when he put it on something strange happens.
