Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a good bit about the last chapter I released. I thought it was going to be better than it was, and I realize now that I botched it. So I'm apologizing for releasing a sub par chapter. I can't promise it won't happen again, but I can make several promises going forward.
First, I generally release a chapter as soon as I finish writing it. This has good and bad points, but the best is this. If I drop a bad chapter, I can immediately fix it and not set back the story at all. So that's the first promise. If I write a bad one, I will delete it with the release of an edited, and hopefully better version. I'll be counting on you guys to set me straight in the comments.
Second, I am trying to balance several things at once to try and make sure it isn't boring. I hate grinding levels, and you may have noticed that something always screws the grinding schedule up every few chapters. I will probably keep it going that way, as I feel it to be more lifelike. While I just got a review saying the power gain is too quick, I really don't believe that spending a week to get an establishment of basic elements is too quickly. That has been the average so far, but will change with more difficult elements.

Character development. I really botched this the last chapter. I was wanting to showcase Valorian's ability with his voice magic, making him almost an evil bard. He slips through your defenses, and everything he says makes sense. Until you stop to really think about it. Then you realize that it is just evil. I will find another way to show this, hopefully doing it justice. The last chapter ended up being more focused on evil guys do evil things, and not about how they managed to get good people to join in the evil things.
Thanks for reading, and I'll be posting a rewritten chapter almost immediately after this.
