River River Sect's Hong An

River River Sect's Hong An

As Ling Wei admire the ingenious architecture of the Red River Sect, and Li Bing lost in the memories, the sect elders are currently surrounding a tender looking child.

"Hong An, you're our sect's greatest talent, no matter who our benefactor is, you must sow karma with them, their cultivation is beyond our limits of comprehension, the words they wrote offhandedly are enough to make our sect prosper for thousands of years".

The target of the lecture, Hong An, has short little braids and milk like skin, wearing a red robe, she seems extremely obedient and gives people a deep desire to spoil her. Despite her name (安 - An means peace in Chinese), there is no doubt she will grow into a calamity beauty when she becomes an adult.

Hong An obediently nodded her head like chicken pecking rice, despite not knowing what the sect elders are saying, she instinctively trusts them, as after her parent died and was granted the status of venerated, the sect had to oblige to commit their full resource into their remaining family, which consisted only of their 2 year old daughter.

The sect, no matter how low the talent, would treat the descendent of venerable with higher effort than even Chosen disciples, there were many cases where those descendants would become decedent and either die due to offending the wrong individual, or a drain on the sect.

Hong An, though she had an obedient nature and extremely likeable, had struggled to cultivate, recognised as waste, even failing to withstand baptised, a process which strengthened her body.

The Red River Sect, having found a mean to lessen the stress on the sect from the resources the girl is consuming, while providing her with a good background, naturally justify at their attempt to throw away the orphan as for their own good.

Hong An herself knew nothing of this, as a 2-year-old child, her sentences only consisted of simple words and her mind is still incredibly innocent. Without this opportunity, her only possible future is to become the bride of a friendly sect to enhance their relationship, perhaps not even the main wife.

Hong An, led by the hand by an elder, walked down the paved road towards her room in the main hall, consisting of several servants raised as orphans by the sect, their loyalty is guaranteed, and having possession of high cultivation matching that of elders, could guarantee Hong An's safety.

Ling Wei meanwhile, is exploring the interior of the main hall, despite having been in before during the examination, is exploring with burning eyes. Due to Ling Wei's claustrophobia, he felt incredibly uncomfortable during with the thousands of examinees without such a small distance, and couldn't help but begin cultivating to distract himself.

The main hall is indeed worthy of its name, possessing a carving of a dragon, a mythical race known to be born at only the Immortal Realm, cultivators from Island of Mortals couldn't even bear calling its name, but the Red River Sect had instead decided to carve one into its ceiling, an act that even sect in higher realms wouldn't dare to. Complimenting the sect for its boldness. On the walls were massive painting, depicting mountains and lakes, despite its simple nature, every stroke could be considered to increase the gathering of spiritual essence, despite not being as effective as formations, it is still quite impressive for a sect on the lower realm.

As Ling Wei trodded through the examination hall, he entered the residence designated for Inner Disciples or Chosen, wanting to see the effects of their cultivation technique. Despite their low value, his was still interested in what his father had cultivated during his youth, from what his mother had previously said, compared to other cultivation techniques in this realm, it is still quite advanced.

Walking pass cultivators, he noticed the cultivation technique focused on arm work, with motion mirroring those of waves, manipulating the essence qi into oscillation, with this, they would increase their arm strength by two-fold, compared to other techniques, increasing physical strength is indeed something quite rare.

However Ling Wei soon found a flaw in their technique, their body has a great imbalance of Yin qi from the coldness due to their practice, their heat is transferred away from their body, into the qi, forcing their veins to contract, judging from the blood pills by their side, they have to increase their flow of blood to prevent hypothermia. If one looks further into their body, they would find that those practising the technique would undergo baptism to increase the amount of Yang qi, to maintain their body temperature to a further degree, allowing them to display more of their technique.

Signing at this fatal flaw, Ling Wei continued to walk down the hallway.

Soon, footsteps approached, Ling Wei, despite not needing to, glanced at the direction of the footsteps, to which he sees an obedient looking girl, following a member of the Red River Sect, both were wearing the same type of cloths, so Ling Wei didn't bother much further.

As he was about to walk past the two, he suddenly felt his surrounding devoid of Yin and Yang qi, a face full of surprise, he analysed the two, where his shocked face turned to one full of disbelief.

He undid his transparency, and a figure of a 5-year-old suddenly appear in front of the two, the sect elder, upon noticing the child had a solemn face, but Hong An had eyes sparkling with curiosity, but restrained herself and remained behind the elder.

Ling Wei, having been regarded as rather anti-social, had little experiencing communicating, barely forming a sentence towards a stranger would be considered rare, even then, he would not look at their eyes. Due to this, he had little skills communicating, when he appeared, he was secretly stressed, with his mind blanking out, in his state he said to the two.

"Girl," he said while extending his hands.
