The Bai Family

Yu Sheng was shocked. Never would he have ever imagined that he would transmigrate into somebody so powerful. Just like an interactive screen, Yu Sheng started to scroll through the stats page he was given.

An icon showing a face of a handsome man first popped up. He had his black hair tied up in a bun. Sharp, ferocious brown eyes seemed to stare deep into Yu Sheng’s eyes. He looked neither young nor old but exuded a suffocating aura when you look at him. His perfectly chiselled face caused Yu Sheng to doubt his own orientation.

To not get mesmerized by his own image, he continued scrolling.

“Fuck! This guy is too strong! What happened to the Qi-refining realm? Why am I in the peak of Divine Creator?”

“And what is with these connate passives? A blessed child of destiny would have 1 of these, but I have 6?”

Yu Sheng was astonished. Here he was, thinking that he was about to embark on a journey of cultivation, face-slapping young masters, craft a legendary pill on the first try, be hunted by those jealous of his talent and promising to stay low-key but still come in first place in the sect tournament! How else can he strive to be the strongest on his journey to the peak?

It seemed now that he was already at the end of his journey. Yu Sheng was definitely not complaining about this though. Who wouldn’t want to mess around in what was seemingly creative mode? Who didn’t enable cheats when one found a game boring? Becoming the strongest from the start is every transmigrator’s dream. No one wanted to slave away selling cabbages on the streets before getting destroyed by 2 immortals passing by, fighting.

“Host! For the past few weeks, I’ve been going through your memories and decided to change my form into something that you can easily understand! If you want to continue being the strongest, you’ll have to complete tasks! If not, I will remove your powerful blessings one by one!” Xiao Hei exclaimed.

“Fuck! Most people when they reach the peak of their strength will not be shackled by the system anymore, but now I’m being threatened by this cute little system?“Yu Sheng grumbled lowly. He was visibly annoyed but realized immediately that he was overreacting. He had just transmigrated and was already given the strongest body. Of course, there would be restrictions.

“System, what are my tasks?” Yu Sheng inquired.

“I’m glad you asked, host! You have 2 main tasks: Protect the Bai family. Achieve the Absolute Being Realm!” Xiao Hei beamed.

Yu Sheng furrowed his brows. Strongest Ancestor System, Bai family. Absolute Being realm. He would be ashamed of himself if he could not infer what these words mean. An ancestor of the Bai Family, who failed in achieving the Absolute Being realm, and he is here to help him achieve his goals?

This is suspicious. Too suspicious. He did not know if this was a trap or if he was just a mere pawn in the grand machinations of gods. He did not even know if this Xiao Hei was going to be by his side or not.

Could this system read his thoughts? Before rousing any potential suspicion, he narrowed his eyes and asked the system a question.

“System, why can’t you read my thoughts? I’m afraid that people might eavesdrop on our conversation.” Yu Sheng nonchalantly mentioned, trying to lead Xiao Hei into revealing some answers.

Xiao Hei chuckled, “Don’t worry host! all our conversations can only be heard between the two of us! How can I read your mind? I merely reside in your mind palace, not own it.”

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

Yu Sheng did not fully trust what Xiao Hei was saying, but he was already thinking of multiple contingency and backup plans. If Xiao Hei could read his mind, then the game between Yu Sheng and the Ancestor was already over before it started. So, Yu Sheng decided to carry out his plans regardless, assuming that the system could not read his thoughts.

So what if the ancestor wants his body back? All he had to do was to threaten him with something equally as important. His family.

***************

The Bai Family. The strongest family in the Myriad Heaven Domain. They were the rulers of the entire Domain tree, and all the other sparsely spread out worlds. However, they usually do not interfere with the politics and governing of the entire domain. To them, it was just like watching children play around in their backyard. Or so the legends says.

In truth, the current Bai family was not strong enough to conquer the entire Myriad Heaven Domain. If they were pitted against every other living being there, they would find it hard-pressed to win. However, do not like this make you underestimate them. They are still the strongest family. They just do not want to provoke an all-out war between themselves and the rest of the domain. Thus, they remained indifferent to their surroundings, causing them to appear mysterious and awe-inspiring.

“Do not offend the people of the Bai Family”. Anyone with a strong background would warn their arrogant sons and daughters before allowing them to make a name for themselves. They could not afford to offend the Bai Family. No one could.

….

There were currently 11 people in the Bai Family main hall. It was one of the most prestigious locations in the heavenly immortal realm, the location where the Bai Family was situated. This is where all the major decisions were made for the future of the Bai family. They were currently in the midst of the discussions that occurred every century. They would send in their clone, discuss the well-being of the Bai Family among other things, and report back to their main body once they are done.

Seated at the head of the long table was the dharma clone of the current patriarch of the Bai Family, Bai Hao Lin. Hao Lin was a tall, well-built man with dark brown hair. Sporting a stubble, and dressed in a white robe, he was definitely the heartthrob of countless female cultivators when he was younger. Right now, there was a slight smile that was plastered on his face. He was just informed that his only son, Bai Hao Ran, had just left secluded cultivation, achieving the goal he was set to achieve by entering secluded cultivation in the first place.

He had taken 120 years to rise from the False Immortal Realm to the Loose Immortal Realm. There may be stronger heirs to immortal families in the heavenly immortal realm, but no one was as fast as he was in cultivation. He was only 700 years old when he entered closed-door seclusion. Granted, he was actually born one million years ago. The sky was a deep shade of blue, and the sun shone down upon the earth with a warm and gentle light. But then, as if in response to the birth of this great child, the heavens began to tremble.

The ground shook, and the air was filled with a deafening roar. And then, to the amazement of all who witnessed it, auspicious signs began to appear. The clouds parted, revealing a glimpse of a golden dragon looking down upon the Bai Family. Beams of golden light shone down upon the earth, and the very air seemed to shimmer and glow with an otherworldly radiance.

It was a moment of great power and majesty, a moment that would be remembered for generations to come. And through it all, Bai Hao Ran lay there, a tiny, helpless child, oblivious to the wonders that had occurred at his birth.

This, however, was not something a certain branch family of the Bai Family was happy about. They had been scheming and plotting for the last two million years, and now the main branch of the Bai Family had given birth to another divine child. Preposterous!

To ensure the future of their own offspring, the branch family had no choice but to push their plans forward, deciding the kick-start the mayhem by assassinating Hao Ran.

However, this proved fatal to them, as the main branch had used this opportunity to purge the weeds that has been growing in their own backyard. By sealing Hao Ran and hiding him away somewhere secret, the now exposed rebels had no way of finishing what they’d started, and were quickly and ruthlessly disposed of.

None of the ancestors from the ancestral sanctuary heard the pleas of the people from the branch family. Even if some of them have some blood ties to them, they were still thousands of generations away, they might as well have been strangers. Moreover, they were more excited about Hao Ran, which they were looking forward to meeting.

The last time someone had triggered the Heavenly Dao’s auspicious blessing was Bai Hao Lin and the very first ancestor. This time, they would not want to miss the opportunity to raise and groom such a fine heavenly-blessed child.
