Saving his child

“Patriarch! Ancestor Long Da and the entire Xia family that went to the Bai Family celebration had all perished!” A Xia family elder reported, still horrified and in a state of shock at what he had just said.

“WHAT?” The Xia Family patriarch thought that his ears had played tricks on him. He squeezed tightly on the armrests of his throne, destroying it in the process.

The news he had just received was inconceivable. He had already received news that multiple families that were originally neutral to the Xia family had pulled out in trades or small agreements that were already made.

This was already devastating to the Xia family as this would mean that they had gained more potential enemies that would not stand neutral in the future.

Now he had received news that the foundation of the Xia family was killed? How could their ancestor die so easily?

“Ancestor Long Da has preservation means that would protect his soul! His body would transport him back to the Xia family estate! Where is his body now?” A grand elder present in the scene questioned.

If their ancestor managed to come back to life, the Xia family would then stand a chance to either escape or counterattack.

“Reporting to Grand el-” Before he could even finish his report, everyone present in the main hall started to feel their hearts palpitating wildly. Their eyes bulged in shock. What was happening to them?

Their blood started to boil, and all at once, their hearts exploded. Everyone died. This was not something they could resist. It was a curse that attacked all of the Xia Family.

On that day, it became an eerie legend that would spread far and wide throughout the Myriad Heaven Domain. All over the Myriad Heaven Domain, anyone with Xia blood would perish and die, their bodies exploding into a bloody mist. It was named the “Xia Family Massacre.”

Yu Sheng stood outside the Ancestral Sanctuary of the Xia Family. He poured his divine sense into the gate. Everyone inside had already perished due to the curse. Anyone older or stronger than Xia Long Da had perished long before Yu Sheng had awakened.

It seemed that the bloodline curse he had cast on Long Da worked really well. If it wasn’t for the Temporal Sage’s Prayer Beads that contained a mind-numbing amount of Time energy that he could use to replenish his life force by reverting time, he would have to burn a minor stage of cultivation to pull off this ability.

For a person as strong as Yu Sheng, losing a minor stage of cultivation was akin to losing billions of years of progress.

Now that the Xia family was officially dead, Yu Sheng could rest easy. Even the most loyal of families that were allianced to the Xia family, or comrades who had fought together with the Xia family for aeons would think twice before seeking revenge.

Why would they seek revenge for something that does not exist anymore? No member of the Xia Family could rise up and regain their once-lost glory.

They were ALL dead.

Moreover, they would be going against public sentiment if they openly fought with the Bai Family. After all, they were the ones who acted first and tried assassinating Hao Ran, and they instigated the war in the first place.

No one batted an eye at Yu Sheng’s ruthlessness. It was part of the course with events like this.

The entire Xia family estate was quiet. Yu Sheng approached the Xia Family treasury. Any array standing in their way was easily destroyed by Wang Wu Ling’s array-breaking techniques, which were fueled by Yu Sheng’s insanely high cultivation base and reserved time energy.

Although it took some time, the arrays present were not meant to stop them, but to stall for time. However, no one would ever arrive to protect the treasury so they had nothing to worry about at all.

After successfully breaking the arrays and entering the treasury, Yu Sheng allowed Wu Ling to take fifty percent of all the items in the treasury. It was a small reward to thank her for her help.

What Yu Sheng was looking for was a prized possession that the Xia Family had kept deeply undercover. It was something that even the Grand elders of the Xia Family could not gain permission to see.

Only Patriarchs, Ancestors who had contributed massively to the Xia family, could take a glimpse at it.

It was an ancient tome that came from the Primordial era, an era that predates Yu Sheng and came after the creation of the Myriad Heaven Domain. Such an item from the Primordial Era was not something Yu Sheng had ever seen before.

In fact, the Bai Family had multiple items that came directly from that period of time. However, none were as useful or powerful as this ancient tome. On it were writings and Dao Chants that were extremely hard to comprehend, even for Yu Sheng.

However, this was exactly the item he was looking for.

The tome was an ancient cultivation technique that allowed one to gather primordial energy. Such energy was something many old monsters sought after. The existence of Primordial energy was known, but no one knew how to cultivate it.

The Xia family had the cultivation technique, but no one was talented enough to decipher it. All Dao that exist in the Myriad Heaven Domain originated from primordial energy. It can freely transform itself into any other energy, or it can be used in techniques that use primordial energy.

Yu Sheng sat in front of the ancient tome. He took out the Temporal Sage’s prayer beads and hourglass and used almost half of its reserve to create a chronostasis chamber.

Now Yu Sheng could comprehend the tome without worrying about the passage of time passing.

Years, decades, centuries, millenniums, and aeons had passed while Yu Sheng attempted to study the tome.

An incomprehensible amount of time passed before Yu Sheng opened his eyes again. A wisp of Primordial energy can be felt in his core. It took him an extremely long time to comprehend the tome, as he did not know what primordial energy was or what it looked and felt like.

It was akin to asking a blind person to describe what the sky looks like, and after attempting a mind-numbing amount of different permutations and combinations in comprehending the tome, he finally did it.

The nature of the primordial energy gave Yu Sheng inspiration. It was undetectable. No one could sense the energy unless they knew it existed and could create it themselves. As long as he kept the tome secret, he would essentially seal a way for others to cultivate primordial energy.

He could use this traceless energy to create a deadly poison…

Yu Sheng’s train of thought was derailed by Xiao Hei’s voice.

“Congratulations Host! You have cultivated an unknown energy source. This energy source is extremely compatible with the Dao of Time and the Dao of Space. Host can attempt to perfect your Dao of Space with this newfound energy!” Xiao Hei excitedly informed Yu Sheng.

“Host, you may now receive your full memories. Do you want to receive them now?”

Yu Sheng was shocked to hear this. The system was hiding some memories from him? This was very alarming to Yu Sheng.

It seems that the system does not fully trust him with this body. He needs to postpone some of his plans so that the system will not catch onto what he is planning on doing.

“No, I have something urgent to do now. Let’s wait until I am done.” Yu Sheng replied to Xiao Hei.

He indeed was not lying to Xiao Hei. He now had the ability the cultivate primordial energy, and he could now recover the vegetative egg.

Yu Sheng undid the chronostasis chamber and left with the tome in his mind palace. He saw Wu Ling as he left the treasury. It has been a few days since he entered the treasury, and Wu Ling had been waiting for him.

A few high-ranking members of the Bai family had come to collect the spoils of war, leaving only Wu Ling patiently waiting for Yu Sheng.

“What took you so long? Was there anything of use to you in there?” Wu Ling inquisitively asked.

Yu Sheng would not lie to her and tell her he did not find anything. A little truth to your lie would make it more believable.

“I found a cultivation technique that would help me perfect my Dao of Time.” Yu Sheng replied to her perfunctorily. He was technically not lying.
