Announcement - Late chapter & coming finals and a short hiatus.

Hello everyone! Your 13-25th favourite writer, RealObservr, here!

First of all, yes, I am going to be once again asking for your patience as I just... haven’t had the time to write today’s chapter.

Both because today’s classes were really hard on me and because I’ve unironically written 3 2k word long chapters on a book that I am probably not going to be releasing in the next few years... that’s not a joke.

I will be writing and releasing today’s chapter tomorrow, and after that, I am going to be putting the story on a hiatus to finish the last of my school projects, and start honestly studying for my finals.

I will be gone from 27th of December ‘till 19th or 20th of January, as my exams begin in the 13th, and take a bit less than a week to finish... though the hiatus might last until the 22nd or 23rd if my teachers decide to do the funni and put some of my exams on the very last day of the week.

And after my exams are over, I am going to take a bus ride to hell, aka my hometown, that will last for 16 hours and will need a day to recover from that.

But, like I said, by the 19th, or 20th you should start seeing me posting again on this story.

I would like to thank you once again for your patience and have a nice day, night, or whatever the hell you are having!

Goodbyes and Observr—out!

Ignore this pls (Or don't, I've put something in there):

Just going to post one of the chapters from the dungeon core story I started writing here. If you liked it and think it should become a thing I post weekly, because that's how dungeon core writers operate I guess, tell me in the comments.

Book Name - Demon Core or smth. I dunno.

Chapter 1- Brand New World!

Opening my eyes slowly, I looked above me, and saw a grey stone ceiling instead of the white concrete one that was supposed to be there.

“...I didn’t paint my house, did I?” I muttered groggily, before a cold wind swept in and jolted me awake.

That... definitely wasn’t supposed to happen, as I was just sleeping in my bedroom last night!

Turning my head towards the source of the wind, I saw a corridor, maybe 5 meters long and 2 meters tall with only enough space for a single man to walk, leading out into a forest, ripe with vegetation and trees that grew for a dozen meters and more.

Not being able to really comprehend the sight in front of me, I slowly walked through the simple stone corridor, and stepped out into the forest, and took a few deep breaths in while looking out at the bright sun and blue sky—wondering if this was a simple dream or reality as I couldn’t say for certain which one it was.

100 mana required for the Dungeon Master to leave the dungeon for 1 hour is not present.

Calculating...

*ding*

The Dungeon Master, Caine, has 2 minutes and 24 seconds before his body will die, and his soul will be sent back to the Dungeon Core for revival. Please use this time sparingly.

“...What?” I muttered as I looked at the 2 blue windows that appeared suddenly in my vision.

“Dungeon Master? I... am a Dungeon Master? And I only have 2 minutes before I die?!” I screamed in confusion, and turned around into the hole I crawled from, and inside, saw a stone pedestal, upon which a dark red crystal was sat, glowing slightly.

“...Shit... I died and reincarnated as, not a dungeon, but it’s master... eh, guess its not as bad as those books I’ve read about dungeons as it seems I can at least leave my dungeon...” I muttered as I said “System” inside my mind to see if a system window would appear before me, and it did!

Name: Caine Race: Demon Rank: G

Quickly taking a gaze through my system window, while I planned on going through every single aspect of the system I could see, something caught my sight immediately as I looked at the system window.

“Race... Demon? Class Demon Lord? But am I not a hum—oh... It seems I am no longer a human then...” I muttered as I looked at my arm to see that I had the same dark red skin colour as the Dungeon Core, and long dark nails that seemed like claws.

Then, turning my head behind me, I realised that I had a pair of bat wings, and a tail with a spade on the end of it, that was as long as me.

...And I was naked. But no need to think about that.

“This is... concerning. But not as much as the fact that I’ve been reincarnated into another world in my sleep, and have been forcefully bound to a Dungeon Core without my permission... so, things could be worse is all I am saying!” I said, and then started going through everything on my system by at first clicking on them with a hand, and then realising I could mentally click them, and doing that instead.

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

Name, race, and rank were very easy to understand, and I learned that G rank was the lowest rank, with SSS rank being the highest one, with there being a total of 10 ranks.

Then came the class, and apparently, it was something everyone was assigned when they “became of age”, which depended on their species.

Though, the system also clarified that, becoming of age and being an adult was not the same which was... a weird addition to me, but I believe this just implies a higher being or beings controlling the system.

As, if it was just a mindless entity... why would it care?

Hp and Mp were really easy to understand as well, and so were my 7 stats.

Strength increased my... well, strength. Vitality made me more healthy and harder to kill.

Agility increased my speed, and Dexterity made me more... dexterous. Increasing my basic motors skills like being able to write faster, or swing a sword faster.

Intelligence increased my base mana capacity, while Wisdom increased the amount of mana I would regenerate per hour.

And Charisma, both made me slightly more pleasing to the eye, but not by much, and made people take my words more seriously, and at least consider them before dismissing them.

My skills Fire and Darkness manipulation were pretty similar as well as they both allowed me to conjure, and control their elements if they were present nearby. And, if I created a really impressive spell using them, it’d be added to my skills as a sole skill!

Mana Strengthening allowed me to spend mana to strengthen my body, but not my clothes or weapons.

And Fly... well, helped me fly. Not that I’d be using it anytime soon tough.

Then came the titles, and they all were basically full of flavour text.

Some of my skills had flavour texts too, but... well, see for yourself.

Otherworlder: Through means unknown, you’ve managed to travel between your planet of origin, and your new one.

Make best of the luck bestowed upon you by the gods.

Demon Lord’s Aura: The Lord of Demons. The Lord of Beasts and Monsters. The Lord of Chaos. Whenever an unlucky soul comes into your presence, or even catches a glimpse of your form, they can’t help but shiver in fear no matter how strong they may be.

Beings of your rank and lower will be struck with terror, and unless they have a strong will, or you wish otherwise, they will be unable to move.

Beings a rank or more stronger than you on the other hand will be completely unaffected by your overwhelming aura, other than the dread they will feel whenever they gaze at you, or are near your form.

Demon Lord’s Authority: Any demon that is of the same rank and lower than you will follow your orders—no questions asked.

The Silver Tongued Devil: To trick is a demon’s biggest ability. And as the Demon Lord, it is only normal you would be the biggest trickster of them all, no? But what does one need to trick others than a wits and intelligence? Mastery of language of course!

Thanks to your silver tongue, you will be able to speak and understand any language spoken near you.

Core Bound: Dungeons, a boon and a bane and on the soul. Through luck, or lack thereof, you’ve bound yourself to a dungeon core, eternally. Lest your dungeon core is destroyed, you will revive every day.

You can leave your dungeon, but every hour you spend outside of your dungeon will use up 100 points of mana. And as you get further away, the mana you need to exert to be outside will also increase.

And, if you die outside your dungeon, your soul will be pulled back, and you will reincarnate in a day like normal.

Core Enhanced: Master of the core, or not, you still stand as its greatest, and last, defender.

Doubles the amount of stat points you gain per level after you’ve fully bounded yourself to your dungeon core.

You will also get 1% of all the exp you’re the minions around the dungeon gain from slaying intruders.

While the description of my first title, Otherworlder, made me wince a bit as I thought I’d be immediately thrown into machinations of the gods for... something, but it that didn’t seem to be the case... at least not yet. So, I was willing to ignore it.

And while some of my other titles were a bit concerning as well... they didn’t look that problematic. Just interesting if anything.

“Well then, system, show me the Dungeon Core’s System Window!” I yelled out, and a new system window materialized in front of me.

Dungeon Name: N/A Floors: 1/3 Rank: G

Level: 1 Exp: 0/20

Mana: 50/50 Mana Regen: 0.5 /MpH

Dungeon Master: Demon Lord Caine

Dungeon Type: Demonic

Construct +

Summon +

Stockpile +

The dungeon system seemed really small compared to mine, but I saw a few plus signs next to Construct, Summon and Stockpile, and when I clicked on them, they opened their own subsystems!

But everything has its time and place, so, from the beginning we start!

I was initially surprised that I could just go ahead and build 2 more floors to my dungeon... but I could not, as, while the Dungeon Core could partially carve out rooms, corridors, and stairs to connect the floors, I would need actual minions as well to build those rooms, corridors, and stairs!

And, the first floor needed to have at least 5 rooms, not counting the core room, before I could build the second floor.

And the second floor needed to have 6 rooms, and the third 7 and so on!

Which each level my Dungeon Core gained, I would get another max floor capacity, and more mana. And access to new types of minions and constructions!

Then came the Dungeon type, which was based on me, the Dungeon Master, so, nothing I could do to change it.

But, if I could bring in monsters from outside, and tame them, or make golems and undead of my own in the dungeon, I could gain sub types, and would be able to summon them from them as dungeon minions!

Now, onto construct!

There were 3 different things I could do in the construction menu: Rooms, Structures, and Room Improvements.

Rooms were really basic, it allowed me to basically create rooms, corridors, and the stairway that’d go between the floors.

Structures allowed me to build things inside rooms, like a Bone Fire that I could build with 1 Mana and 1 Unit of wood.

I... didn’t have any other structures, but just assumed that when I got more resources on hand, I would be able to build more things as well!

Then, finally, room improvements were interesting as they... well, improved the rooms I had in my dungeon, and changed their purpose.

I could have 1 Boos Room for every floor, and as many Kitchens, Armouries, and Workshops.

Though, I felt like the last 3 would be better fit on the backlines, and the lowest floors.

Then, on to the summon menu!

Summon -

Imp (G): A small demonic creature that is not very strong... or intelligent.

Can do a variety of jobs, from fighting, to gathering materials, and even crafting! But it can’t do anything well.

Cost: 5 Mana + 7 per every level.

I—I only had an imp.

And they spawned at level 1.

And, per every 5x5 room, I could have at most 3 Imps, that were collectively worth 10 levels or less.

As I got onto the lower floors, I would be able to make them stronger and stronger, but on floor 1, the strongest monster, the boss, could be level 15, while everything else had to be less than 10.

“...Yeah, I am going a quantity over quality approach for now... I’ll increase the monsters’ levels later.” I muttered, and quickly laid out a basic floor design, and ordered the dungeon to use 10 mana right now to carve out the first corridor and the 5x5 meter room, both of which would use 5 mana each, and then ordered it to keep itself at 45 mana, and use everything else it got to continue carving the floor.

And it obeyed.

I then saw the wall to the right of the room be removed chunk by chunk, and after 2 minutes, the corridor and the first room were both carved, and I hoisted the pedestal the core stood on, and brought it onto the second room, and then with the remaining 30 mana the dungeon had, created 3 imps, 1 at level 1, and 2 at level 2, and watched them materialise into existence in the first room, watched them for a few moments before starting to walk towards them.

They were humanoid, but as I looked at them, I realised that they were definitely not like me.

They all stood at a meter tall, with black fur that covered their body, and goat legs.

They had a short, and a pair of black horns that grew out of their heads, and their hands were the most human thing on their body other than their overall form, as they each had a pair of arms with clawed hands.

“...Goats don’t have claws... but they are also imps, so, who cares.” I muttered and walked over to the Imps who had already started fighting each other by head butting each other, and as I walked over, I touched my head to see if I had horns too.

“...Yep, I have a pair of horns on my head, and I bet that they are black as well.” I muttered, and the Imps quickly realised I was walking towards them, and fell to the ground in an almost praying position.

“...Well, this is uncomfortable already... anyways, you 3, go outside and start collecting wood and stone and bring it into the dungeon, and kill any small animals you find, and bring their corpse back as well.

“But do not wander too far. Go at most a 100 or 150 meters away from the dungeon’s entrance. I’ll allow you to go 200 meters away if you are chasing an animal but return after you go past the 200 meter mark.” I ordered the Imps, and the 3 of them got up, and rushed to go out of the dungeon.

“...Hope they don’t die outside...” I muttered as I went back to the core room, and sat down in front of the core, allocating my stat points to be stronger, healthier and faster.

Strength 2

Vitality 2

Agility 3

I could’ve probably put a point into intelligence as well, but, for now, I didn’t want to as pure strength would be better for me now.

“Now, let’s wait and see what the future has in store for me...” I muttered as I looked at the mental map of the dungeon layout and started daydreaming about the future glory of my dungeon.
