The Hero’s Master (V)

Nameless Grunt's POV:

'Tsk! Why do I have to kill this little girl in the countryside?'

I am just a nameless monster that is a part of the Demon King's Army.

We follow the will of the Evil God because he promised us salvation.

These puny humans will be slaves to us and we will rule over the entire world!

And yet… That little girl is the one who's going to kill the demon king?!?

The demon stood in front of the so-called Hero's window in order to monitor the situation.

A memory relapses in the demon's mind:

'Listen up! The Demon General, Mephistopheles-sama has ordered to kill the hero before she grows! Due to some time restraints, I will send you there because of your infiltration skills!

I hope you won't disappoint me in the slightest, Barghest!'

Kehehehehe! What an easy job!

Barghest smirked widely as his shadow began covering the little girl's window, the figure then slipped into the room as he successfully did so without any disturbances. This was because he can travel to any shadow or shade he sees.

'I'm busy so…'

The shadow raised his hand and claws protruded from it.

'Die, Hero…!'

In a blink of an eye, the claws immediately closed the distance between the child in the bed-

'....!'

However, to his surprise, he stopped as a hand patted his shoulder.

"I don't think so, bud."

The demon who momentarily stopped his attack retracted and raised his claws towards the man instead at a great speed.

An attack enough to rip the whole house apart was launched and was about to hit him-

Yet the man only flicked the demon's claws as it shattered into the ground.

The demon was confused for a second however he realized that the man in front of him was a threat-

If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

The man who predicted this, touched the demon and both of them instantly disappeared from the house.

The little girl who had been sleeping soundly suddenly woke up in a cold sweat.

"...?"

There was no one there. She proceeded to sleep once more thinking it was just a nightmare.

*

The demon who disappeared in an instant, appeared with the man in the middle of a thick forest.

"Who the hell are you?"

The man who's figure he can't clearly see, said in a melancholic voice:

"Me? I'm just a normal old man"

"DON'T FUCK AROUND ME!!!"

'I have to get rid of this human immediately!'

That was what his whole body, no, entire being is trying to tell him.

"I'LL KILL YOU HUMAN!"

His entire body began expanding and his already monstrous appearance became more hideous. He grew up to the point that he grew taller than the trees, his mouth is full of jagged teeth and his claws grew unproportional to his size, a red aura enveloping his stature. He looked like a feral dog with fiery eyes, ready to maw someone

Without hesitation, he raised his two front paws and readied for an attack-

"Slash Claw!"

The slash created from both of his claws decimated the forest around it.

However he was not satisfied-

'Where is he?'

He attacked recklessly because he instinctively know-

That if he doesn't fight back, he'll die.

'Fuck! I'm not going to be scared of a weakling such as a human!'

"What?"

Surprisingly, the man was unscathed as he jumped towards the middle of the beast.

"YOU'RE WIDE OPEN!"

Barghest, who noticed the opening that the man gave, decided to take advantage of it and launched his left claw towards him midair.

"...!"

In a sudden realization, Barghest could not feel his left arm anymore.

And in a moment of nervousness, he felt a primal emotion that was sealed through their strong and reckless behavior-

Fear.

"UWAGHH!!!"

Barghest who saw his now left arm gone and gushing blood, for the first time in his life as a demon, he instinctively hid in the shadows and ran away from the human.

‘I WILL NOT DIE, I WILL NOT DIE HERE!’

Barghest, will all of his might, ran away towards the great mountain ranges. But before he could even take another step, he felt blood trickling from his neck.

‘….!’

But before he could react to it, his head was already sliced cleanly. And the demon doesn’t even know that he’s already dead.

His head slid off and fell to the ground as blood spurled from his disconnected neck.

‘Mephistopheles-sama…!’
