“Okay, so how do you plan to make me meet that teacher of yours. Don’t tell me you are going to teach me yourself Lucas?” I asked.
“No way man, I am no teacher, I don’t have the patience for that shit.” He answered with a huge grin on his face.
“Lucas could you kindly explain the thing to him before giving him a heart attack?” Asked Karim.
“Oh, right I nearly forgot! Our mean of communication is kind of – different.”
A voice sounded in my mind.
‘We communicate by telepathy you see’.
I shrieked. Looking around me, then at Lucas.
Lucas chuckled at my reaction. “Yeah, it's a bit unsettling at first, but you'll get used to it.”
Karim nodded in agreement with shadenfreud. “Don’t worry, it will get better with time.”
Lucas laughed, "Look at who is talking, weren’t you the one with the biggest reaction back then Karim?"
"Don’t you dare say it Lucas!" Karim replied, his green face turning beet red.
“What you don’t want me to talk about your dark past to Ryan? Brothers should share everything. Shouldn't they?” Said Lucas with a playful smile.
“Lucas shut up. I will kill you!” Karim said with irritation.
Lucas chuckled, clearly enjoying the opportunity to tease. "Oh come on, Karim. I was just getting to the good part where you—"
“Lucas, if you value your life, you will stop talking,” Karim interrupted, his eyes narrowing.
I couldn't help but laugh, despite the tension. “You two have quite the history, don't you?”
Karim sighed, shaking his head. “Unfortunately, yes. Lucas loves to bring up embarrassing moments from our past.”
Lucas grinned widely. “What can I say? It's one of my many talents.”
I smirked. “Well, it’s nice to see you two getting along so well.”
Karim shot Lucas a warning look, then turned back to me. “Alright, enough fooling around. We need to focus. Ryan, the teacher will help you, but you need to take this seriously. One mistake could cost us everything.”

“Yeah, yeah, we know it’s serious,” Lucas said, rolling his eyes. “But playing a bit won’t hurt anyone, right?”
Karim muttered something under his breath, then talked to me again, “Lucas will teach you how to answer a telepathic message using the link. Then you will talk with the master.”
"Alright, let's start with that," I said, with a lingering smile on my face.
“It's simple, really. Just focus your thoughts on the person you want to talk to, and think of what you want to say. It's like speaking, but in your mind.” Said Lucas while sending me a mental link.
I closed my eyes, concentrating on Lucas.
I thought, ‘Can you hear me?’
Lucas grinned. “Loud and clear! See, it's not so hard.”
“Okay, I think I got it,” I replied aloud, opening my eyes. “So, what's next?”
“I will let your new teacher know you are ready.” Replied Lucas.
After a few moments, I heard someone talk in my mind again. This time the voice was older.
‘Hello young warrior, my name is Eldric, a dream walker and expert in divine magic. I will teach you everything I know on the subject.’
Then, he sent a mental link.
‘Hello mister Eldric. My name is Ryan. I am in your care.’
‘Very well. Ryan, I will teach you how to enter someone dream. But first you need to feel and control your divine power. The gods have blessed you, but raw power is not enough.'
'Alright master Eldric what do i do first?'
'Close your eyes and clear your mind. Focus on your breathing. Each breath you take must be in synch with the rhythm. Profound yet brief.'
I closed my eyes and breathed deeply in a special rhythm like my new master said.
It was difficult at first, but gradually I began to feel a warm current within me, growing stronger with each breath.
'What do feel now?'
'I feel a warm current flowing through my body.’
'Good, Ryan. It means you have a strong connection to the divine. Now I will guide you to enter someone dream.'
'Try to feel where the current is strongest.’
I focused harder, feeling the warmth move through my veins. Slowly, I began to sense a strong warmth near my chest.
‘Near my chest.’
‘Excellent. This is your magic core. Now, imagine a thread extending from this core. This thread is your connection to the dreamscape. Visualize it reaching out towards another person—let’s start with Karim.’
I visualized a golden thread extending from my chest, stretching towards Karim. I imagined it connecting with him, creating a bridge between our minds.
‘Now, send your consciousness along the thread. Imagine yourself walking across it, entering Karim’s mind.’
I took a deep breath, mentally stepping onto the thread. I felt a strong pull, as if my soul was leaving my body. My surroundings changed.
Suddenly, I was standing in the central plaza of the merchant tribe. Karim was there, looking around in confusion.
‘Ryan? Is that you?’ Karim's astonished voice echoed in the dreamscape.
‘Yes, it’s me. I made it!’
Karim grinned. ‘This is incredible!’
‘Thank you, Karim.’
‘Now I will teach you how to leave the dream. Imagine the thread pulling you back to your body. Focus on returning.’ Continued master Eldric.
I visualized the thread again, feeling it tug me back. Slowly, the village faded, replaced by the familiar sight of the prison cell.
'It's done, I am back to the real world.'
‘Well done, Ryan.’
‘Thank you, Master Eldric.’ I replied gratefully.
Lucas, who had been watching with a keen eye, grinned broadly. "See? I told you he could do it!"
Karim nodded. "You did well, Ryan. But the witch’s mind will be far more guarded and complex than mine. You need to be fully prepared."
"You are right Karim, if I enter her dream right now I will die. But master Eldric is a fantastic teacher. At this rate, I might actually succeed."
