POV; Danial Hilt
It has been a strange and exciting week for me, I was chosen to become part of the second batch of people that will go up to the "Solstice" space station.
It is the biggest space station up to this day, on it are many renowned scientists and researcher of many different fields that work together on different projects.
Well, I'm not one of those researchers, no, I'm chosen as a guard and engineer for the outer areas.
Anyway, I got brought onto a rocket together with twenty-nine others, and we blasted off into space where we successfully docked onto the "Solstice" space station.
The sight of the blue planet in the distance was breathtaking, all those shining stars in the endless space and the gigantic ball of fire that we call sun, it took me some time to stop staring with open mouth out of the window, but I eventually managed.
After our arrival we got shown around the space station which was so damn big that it should be impossible to watch over all of it with only 200 people of which 60 are researchers and scientists that mostly sit in their laboratories or workshops and do whatever they do.
I soon learned how they managed to keep the space station running even before the second batch of people arrived, the whole institute is equipped with lots of security cameras which are monitored by an artificial intelligence, this AI will automatically prioritize the cameras on which something is happening and show it to the guards on duty in order to not waste everyone's time by starring at screens on which nothing is happening and at the same time to ensure that the decision is made by a human and not a machine.

For the rest of the week I and the other twenty-nine new passengers explore the space station and familiarize ourselves with the areas in which we are going to work.
"Damn, I already miss the food from home. "A man in dark blue overall suite that has special magnetized boots and gloves that cover the entire forearms sighs as he walks through a well light corridor.
´It has barely been one and a half weeks Jack, if it comes to food then the military was much worse. "I say to the man named Jack, he is also some one from the second batch and we know each other for a long time already, we were together in the military and were then chosen for this position.
Somewhere in a giant hall of some sort, big meaty roots reach out and latch onto the walls, suspending a red pulsing heart in the air.
Hanging from the pulsing heart are tentacles at whose end are cocoons, which too pulls with an eerie red light.
One of the cocoons suddenly twitches and whatever is inside it has decided to start moving around.
´It's dark, wet, and warm, this can't be anything good, right? ´The creature inside the cocoon thinks with disgust and some annoyance.
´Well shit… time to get outa here. ´The creature starts to push, rip and tear at the walls of the cocoon.
The tentacle holding it notices the strong movement and starts to lower the cocoon closer to the ground, it stops when the cocoon is hanging less than a meter above ground.
With a sickening sound the cocoon gets ripped open by two clawed hands.
A wet sound halls through the giant hall when a inhuman creature falls onto the metal ground, covered in greenish mucus from inside the cocoon.
´Haaa, finally out. ´The creature thinks while getting back on its clawed feet.
It then proceeds to inspect its surroundings before examining itself.
´Luckily, I still got hands, even if there are four now. ´The creature shakes its tentacle covered head and releases a deep sigh form its mouth filled with sharp teeth's and a long, pointy tongue.
Its
