Miscellaneous Fake Quotes to use in Stories (to be added to)

I hate light more than I hate anything else. And like any rational individual, I rationalize that hatred with excuses. "It hurts my eyes after a long night at work" or "People are active during the day, which means its more troublesome", or "It's just how I grew up". But here is the real reason I hate the day. I know what it represents. I understand its purpose far better than those than live in the daylight. Light illuminates, it enlightens. If such a thing illuminates me, what horrors will I see? And to show the real irony of the world, light also blinds. It shows the ugly truth, and more often than not, it normalizes that truth. I've seen so many day goers witness unflinchingly in broad daylight horrible things. Light shows the terrible truth of the world but never fixes it. It provides false hope to the scared. So, I hate when morning comes, and everything it represents. When at times my work waxes long and I am unable to return home before dawn, I plot my path through any patch of shadow I can. On days when the sun is brightest, with no relieving clouds in sight, I nick an umbrella off someone's porch. They won't be using it anyway. Yes, horrors lurk in darkness, but they too are hiding. After all, in the darkness is safety
