David and Tina were navigating through space. In the first few months, Tina was nervous and excited, but seeing David calm and relaxed made her feel more at ease. Over time, Tina got used to life aboard the spacecraft. Although space life was monotonous, everything went smoothly, thanks to David's previous experience in space and the fact that the spacecraft built on Planet Gleamira was much more advanced than those made on Earth.
Finally, they were nearing their destination—they had entered the solar system. David sent a signal to Earth, informing the International Space Center that he, David Yang, was returning to Earth and requesting permission to land. The International Space Center quickly received the signal, and the people there were very excited. They immediately began preparing to welcome David and sent a message inviting him to land at the center's launch base. David was thrilled to receive the message—he was about to return to the Earth he had been away from for so many years and would soon see his parents and brother!
The spacecraft landed smoothly on the ground, and David and Tina stepped out. A car approached them from a distance, stopping beside them. The driver got out and said, "Welcome back to Earth. Please get in the car." David and Tina got into the car, which drove them to a building. The driver led them into a hall.
David and Tina had just entered the hall when they were greeted with a round of applause. The room was filled with people welcoming them. Jamie, the former head of the International Space Center, and George, the current head, rushed forward to embrace David tightly.
"We've been eagerly awaiting your return! You haven't changed much, except for those wings!" Jamie exclaimed.
"There's a long story behind that. I'll explain it later. Let me introduce you to Tina, who is from Planet Gleamira and is also my wife," David said.
"Tina, welcome to Earth!" Jamie greeted her warmly.
"And let me introduce you to George, the current head of the International Space Center. I've retired," Jamie added.
"David, you've been through a lot. We should find some time to talk in detail," George said.
"Sure," he replied.
"Where are John and Philip?" Jamie asked.
“They’ve passed away and have been laid to rest on Gleamira," David said sadly.
"David, David!" A voice called out. David looked in the direction of the voice and saw his younger brother. Rushing over, they embraced tightly.
"Where are Mom and Dad?" David asked, searching the crowd with his eyes.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
Tears welled up in his brother's eyes as he replied, "Mom and Dad passed away from a strange illness."
Hearing this, tears started streaming down David's face. He asked, "What kind of illness?"
"The doctors couldn't say for sure, but they thought it was related to water pollution," his brother explained.
"If I had returned earlier, they might still be alive," David said regretfully.
"David Yang, where is my John?"
"David Yang, where is my Philip?"
John and Philip's parents crowded around David, anxiously asking about their sons.
"John and Philip were heroes of Earth. They were peacefully buried on a very wonderful planet. I wanted to bring their ashes back, but I thought they might prefer to stay in the place they dedicated their lives to, watching over the planet," David said sadly. John and Philip's parents hugged each other and wept.
After a simple welcome ceremony, David and Tina followed David's brother back home.
The next day, the UN Secretary-General met with David and Tina. Following that, they were interviewed on television, with the broadcast being transmitted around the world. During the interview, a reporter asked, "How did you find the aliens?"
David shared the story of how he, John, and Philip had left Earth, traveled through space for four years, arrived at the planet Gliese 581c without finding any signs of life, and then, on their way back to Earth, their navigation system failed. They wandered in space for nearly a month, and then their spacecraft exploded, somehow sending them to Planet Gleamira.
"What a thrilling and challenging experience! Let me ask a second question. Although Earth's technology is advancing rapidly, the planet is also facing significant challenges such as environmental pollution and an energy crisis. Do the people on Planet Gleamira face similar problems, and how do they handle them?" the reporter asked.
"I lived on Gleamira for many years, where people are very happy, and technology is advanced, but the environment is also well-protected. The people there value the concept of balanced development. This means that whenever humans take something from nature, they first consider what they can give back and how to avoid damaging the environment. Before any invention or creation becomes a product for public use, it is thoroughly evaluated to determine its benefits and drawbacks for humanity and the environment. Only then do they decide whether to produce and use it. The same approach applies to engineering projects, ensuring that society develops in a balanced way and the environment is protected. This prevents the blind pursuit of technological advancement and hedonism. For a long time, we have had the misconception that stimulating consumption—more consumption leading to more production, more jobs, and better living conditions—is always good. But when development goes too far, it exhausts resources and damages the environment, ultimately cutting off our path to the future. We all love our families and want to provide for the next generation, but unintentionally, we may be bringing harm to their future. I kept a notebook on Gleamira, recording some of their advanced and wise practices. I plan to make the contents of this notebook public for everyone to learn from," David explained passionately.
“Wow, that’s very insightful and educational! You spent many years on Planet Gleamira and have now returned. Do you have any immediate solutions to the problems we face on Earth?" the reporter asked.
"I brought back the technology to produce a universal pollutant remover, which can address water pollution. I also brought the technology to create fitness power generators, which can help alleviate the energy crisis and unemployment to some extent. I plan to share these technologies freely to help people around the world solve these problems."
"That's fantastic!" the reporter exclaimed, clapping.
The reporter asked a few more questions, and the interview concluded. However, the world was abuzz with excitement. People from all over began inviting David to speak in their regions and requesting his help in producing the universal pollutant remover and fitness power generators.
After holding a memorial service for David’s parents and taking a short period of rest, David and Tina embarked on a journey. They traveled across the world, sharing their ideas, publicizing their knowledge, and helping people solve problems. They also enjoyed the beautiful scenery and delicious cuisines along the way.
After a year of effort, the world had changed. Water pollution was being controlled, people were using fitness power generators, and the concept of balanced development had taken root in people's hearts. Education and transportation systems were also undergoing reform. Seeing these changes, David and Tina were deeply satisfied. They decided it was time to leave Earth and return to their home on Gleamira.
They carried with them greetings written in various Earth languages, along with crafts, famous paintings, and other items as they boarded their spacecraft and soared into the sky.
