Stellar Journey: A Fateful Encounter
Chapter 1: Leaving Earth

Chapter 1: Leaving Earth

David Yang, an astronaut standing 1.76 meters tall with thick eyebrows, big eyes, a straight nose, and slightly upturned lips, looked like an attractive Asian guy. In reality, he was of mixed Chinese-American descent. He was running on a treadmill, and the words of Jamie, the head of the International Space Center, echoed in his ears: “You are the leader of this space mission. During the mission, when you encounter any difficulties, you must be brave, calm, and rational. Humanity has never ventured so far to explore extraterrestrial life. I hope you will successfully complete the mission and return safely. I wish you the best of luck!”

The time for departure had arrived. David Yang and the other two astronauts, John and Philip, each said their goodbyes to their families. David's eyes remained dry as he reassured his parents and brother, saying, "Think of it as a business trip; you can watch my hologram whenever you miss me." Philip, who stood 1.78 meters tall with short, ear-length hair, and a sweet appearance, couldn’t stop his tears and clung to his mother. His father patted his shoulder and said, "Be brave. You are the pride of this planet and will return successfully." John, who was 1.73 meters tall with a bushy beard that made him look older, kissed his parents and simply said, "Pray for me. Goodbye!" He then turned and walked toward the spaceship, with the others following him.

Stolen story; please report.

The spaceship, the SP, had two levels: the upper level was for living, and the lower level housed the equipment. The astronauts mainly stayed on the living level. The equipment level contained a small emergency rescue ship, which the astronauts could use to escape in case of an accident, abandoning the main spaceship. There was also an amphibious craft stored there.

After entering the spaceship and sealing the doors, each astronaut took their seat and strapped in. David Yang sat in the middle, John on the left, and Philip on the right. A screen above the control panel displayed: "Ready for Departure!"

David shouted, "Are you all ready?" John and Philip responded in unison, "Ready!" With a press of a button from David, the spaceship roared to life and shot into the sky, heading straight for the planet Gliese 581c on its predetermined trajectory.
