Orientation day was long. After a very nasty welcoming event, everyone was directed to get their campus IDs. The IDs were little cards that had a digital image of the persons they were representing as well as other general things. Once a student got their card, we would then be shown to our dorm. We didn't need to worry about baggage because we weren't allowed to bring any on the train. Once I got to my dorm room, I found my newly discovered roommate sitting at a desk, waiting for my arrival.
"Well, look who just appeared in my domain. Tell me, newcomer, what's your name?"
"Hugo"
"What an interesting name, does it have any family significance?"
"No"
"Obviously it doesn't, I was asking a rhetorical question. If you had any braincells you would've known that."
What a headache this guy was. I was reaching my limit with this guy's attitude, so I decided to tease him a little.
"Then how about you tell me your name?"
"Well, I'm glad you asked. You see my name is Victor Groundhog the third, but I give you the courtesy of just calling me Victor"
I couldn't help but laugh. The ego this guy had was bigger than I could've anticipated, but with a name like that it just felt surreal.
"What do you find so funny!?"
"Your name is 'Groundhog'? What a joke."
That struck a nerve. He got up from his chair and grabbed me by the shoulders where he then slammed me into the wall. His eyes narrowed as he analyzed me.
"It seems you don't understand your situation here, so allow me to break it down for you. First off, I am your senior by a two-year lead so show some respect. Secondly, I can help you get expelled from this school if you wish, no questions on how, I just can. Lastly, do NOT mock my name!"
With the tone of his voice, you could tell he really meant that last one. He was breathing with a ferocity and his eyes continued to glare at me.
"Are we clear?"
"Sure dude, we're clear."
He let go and as he let go, I felt myself fall to the ground. Being so caught up in the moment of him lecturing me that I didn't even realize he was lifting me off the ground. It was kind of shocking because his build didn't suggest that he was capable of that kind of feat without some struggle. He then looked at me and pointed at a closet.
"Thats your closet, someone came by earlier to drop off some stuff for you. You can look at it now, but I hope you know that you have a class meeting here shortly."
I looked at him with confliction. Just moments ago, he was pinning me against a wall for mocking his name and now he was pointing me to my things as well as telling me about a meeting I hardly knew about.
"If we are going to share the same room we might as well try to get along, but don't for one second forget my words."
"Sure"
I then left the room and made my way down the hall. As I exited the building, I decided to play it cool and followed some students to where the other first years were gathering. Once i had entered the main school building, I checked my ID to find where my homeroom was. When I finally got there, I looked around the room. It was big, the front of the room had a hologram that read 'Welcome to Academy District: Falcon'. After analyzing the room more I noticed my earlier made acquaintance Blitz sitting in one of the middle-back rows, where I made my way towards him.
"Look who we have here! Hugo just couldn't survive a day without me it!"
He seemed to be in a better mood than earlier.
"Don't mistake coincidence for something else."
"Doesn't matter, do you recognize that guy over there?"
"What about him?"
Blitz looked at me shocked as if I broke taboo or something.
"You seriously don't recognize him!? That's a Mackoy! and not just any Mackoy, that's Henry Mackoy!"
His enthusiasm suddenly made more sense. The Mackoy's were one of the few elite clans that live in the Stratosphere. They are well known for their philanthropy as well as their Power Stat skill set capabilities. The very fact that we had one of them from the main family line was blood pumping.
After a bit of waiting, a teacher finally entered the room. She made her way towards a desk and set some papers down on it. She was short and looked young despite her age. She also had glasses that were unique with their big circle tinted lenses as they complemented her messy hair. As she sighed, she began to speak.
"You will call me Ms. Velerouge, no exceptions. I am your homeroom teacher starting today, if you have any questions state them now."
The class was silent. She had a very sharp tone in her voice, almost as if she didn't really want to be there. I could see that she was analyzing the new students. She sighed again and began to speak once more.
"Now that I have introduced myself, its time you all introduce yourselves."
She pointed at a student in the bottom row. They began to speak, but just as I did with the orientation, I tuned them out. I only care about the interesting ones. After each student had introduced themselves in the first row, I yawned. This was already getting boring; I was about to even close my eyes until someone "interesting" was called on.

"You, kid in the third-row seat twenty-four, introduce yourself. I will not repeat myself again."
Ms. Velerouge seemed slightly annoyed with his reluctance to speak. Suddenly the girl next to him stood up and began to laugh.
"Sorry for the silent treatment he is giving you, he just so happens to be shy. My name is Viva Wilcox, the silent one sitting next to me is my younger brother, Rey Wilcox."
She seemed to be brimming with energy, but not the peppy bubbly kind. She seemed to be ready to take on anyone standing in her way. Exciting. After a couple more introductions, it was the Mackoy kids turn. Honestly though it was kind of a boring introduction, so it didn't stick with me. It was then Blitz's turn.
"The name is Blitzgander, Blitzgander Lefrey, but you can call me Blitz for short. Fun fact, I am single and taking applications for a girlfriend."
Ms. Velerouge seemed annoyed with his overly stated introduction. As Blitz sat back down, Ms. Velerouges' head turned towards me. As such custom, I stood up.
"My name is Hugo"
As I began to sit back down, Ms Velerouge stopped me.
"First and last name please"
"Does it even matter"
"It's what everyone else did, your no exception."
"It's not like anyone is going to use my last name"
"First and last name, I will not say it again."
She was getting really stern as she glared at me with annoyance.
"Fine, my name is Hugo, Hugo Vanrouw."
And with that, everyone in one way or another turned their attention towards me. The curse of being from such a family. I sat down and could do nothing but be irritated with the situation. I no longer cared for the introductions; all I cared about now was getting back to my dorm. After the eyes of the students were done gazing at me, their eyes turned to another more familiar face.
"My name is Logdra Feldheim."
It was the guy who charged the ones from the Mesosphere. He just seemed to be angry in nature. He was aggressive in tone and his eyes glared with hate. His long black hair fit his narrow face. He had an ear piercing in his left ear lobe and wore his iconic yellow puffy jacket. His last name sounded familiar as well, but I couldn't quite remember where I had heard it from which bothered the shit out of me. He also happened to be the last one for introductions since he was in the back of the class, which made sense why I didn't really notice him when I had entered.
After a few moments of silence, Ms. Velerouge excused herself. She left the classroom for only a few moments before she returned. She had seemed to change from her stern not-so-caring tone to a more serious tone.
"We seem to have a few more students that must make their own introductions. You three may come in now."
With the signal Velerouge gave, the classroom door opened. Everyone looked in its direction, they were in our class. Each step they took felt like a bomb could go off, and it only grew more tense as they made their way to the front of the class. Metal clanking sounds were made from the clashing of their feet hitting the ground, I couldn't tell if that was deliberate or not, but either way It only added to the intense false aura they were emitting. Once they could be seen by everybody, there was a pause. A tense, brief pause. I turned my head towards Blitz, he seemed calmer than the earlier interaction, but he still had a contorted face.
The first one on the left wore a cloak, black and torn a little at the ends, with metal blade horns coming out of his hood. He had no face from what the crowd could see, just a mouth with pearly white teeth. He was also the one controlling the tentacles.
Next the one on the right wore clothes with tufts of fur on them. The crop top she wore had fur around the neck and shoulder sleeves. Her jacket also seemed to be made of fur like material. The one thing that stuck out about her though was her hair. On top, there seemed to be what looked like in design natural foxlike ears, but it was only a style, which fitted the fox mask on her waist that seemed to have unique properties to it.
Lastly, the one in the middle seemed like he was their leader despite his silence at the unwelcoming. He also wore a crop top; his arms were revealed in their full glory as they appeared to be fully metallic with what appeared to be vents on his forearms. He wore a fur hide around his waist, which also helped reveal the fact he had metallic legs. The metal was bronze with some dirt blemishes on them, adding the mangey look to him. Then there was his face, you couldn't see it. It was covered by a metal plated mask in the shape of a moth's face, it even had two little antennae and bug eyes for him to see out of.
"Now you three, may you introduce yourselves to the class."
The fox girl spoke first.
"My name is Sheeva"
Next was the cloaked faceless one with his pearly white teeth.
"The name is Phobos, remember it well!"
Then the last one with the metal plated limbs and moth mask.
"Ronan"
After they had given their names, the anger driven Logdra began to retaliate with his aggressive tone.
"So, Ms. Velerouge, you're going to give our good friend Hugo here a tough time for not wanting to give his last name, but then when it comes to the three mangey Mesophites your gonna let it slide? What gives with that shit, huh?!"
He was furious. So much so it seemed he could tear the whole room apart with one bad answer.
"Because, Feldheim, they don't have last names."
Another silence encompassed the room. As I looked back at Logdra he grinned. A mischievous smile for such a hate driven man only made him more perfect in that regard. He then got up and slowly made his way down the stairs towards the front.
"Well, I never would have guessed! And you know why I never would have guessed? It's because they don't belong here. It's unnatural and it goes against everything The Patriarch did to build the Atmos-Layers. Look at them! They are dirty, wear no proper clothes of any sort, and worst of all they aren't even human. Look at that one, he has metal arms and legs! That one has no face and has spiney tentacles that come from his back! We have all seen them so it's no secret! All that's left is to see what you do, what was it, Sheeva? Tell me, no, tell the class what you do! We are all listening!"
He had finally reached the bottom of the stairs and was now face to face with his adversaries. He only continued to grin as he waited for an answer from her. Though just as it seemed Ms. Velerouge had enough and was getting ready to put a stop to his debacle, the foxlike girl waved her hand to signal she could handle it.
"Hmmmm. I would, but I doubt you are capable of being able to get me to display what I can 'really' do."
"You dare talk to someone like me like that? Do you know who I am? What I am capable of?!"
His face boiled with angry embarrassment.
"Ha! You have it wrong. The problem is that you don't know what we are capable of."
With that, Logdra had reached his limit. He prepared himself for a massive swing aimed at the cunning girl, but just as he swung, he stopped. He didn't stop himself, Ms. Velerouge did. He was stuck in place, frozen by Velerouges' invisible grasp.
"Logdra Feldheim, you already are building up a track record. Put to a stop by a superior twice in one day. How could anyone expect anything from you."
With those words, Ms. Velerouge simply waved her hand and lifted him off the ground then immediately threw him towards the back of the classroom from where he came.
"I think it is becoming painfully obvious why you might be here, your family seems to think that even you need discipline."
"Grnngh."
He was simply just lying there, showing a little bit of irritation to the teachers' conclusion. After a moment, Sheeva then made her way towards him making confident strides. She had no fear of anyone in the classroom as she herself had established that fact.
"So, Logdra, if you really want to find out what me or my brothers are capable of then how about we have ourselves a little fight? Surely you can handle that, right? You can make the rules however you like; it won't matter."
The whole class was taken aback by her words. She, who had not known such powers, approached someone with Stats for a fight. On top of that he even seemed to be from a high authoritarian family I still hadn't recognized. Whoever she was, they clearly had confidence in their abilities, despite the fact they did not have the gift of Stats.
"Alright, I will entertain your pathetic scheme. Tomorrow, we will fight in the stadium, and I promise you this: you will wish you never came down here."
