After a brief moment of darkness and nausea I open my eyes and find myself in a small room with only a small table and a bed, well less a bed and more a pile of hay with a tarp placed on top, looking over at the table I see a key with a paper tag labeled #7, taking a moment to collect my thoughts I stand and pull up my inventory.

Starting equipment
“I think we should take a look at what they give me to start out with.”
I begin by pulling out the starting equipment, as I lift my hand out of the screen I find myself holding a backpack. I take a moment to empty the contents of the bag on the “bed” before beginning to identify the items one by one.

Looking over the items I have to suppress a sigh.
“Its just the dnd starting equipment.”
After thinking about it for a minute I guess it makes sense, I did tell them dagger wielder who adventures, I imagine that they have different sets for different specialty's. Either way I just dump them back in the phone this time separate, that way I can grab whatever I need specifically. I do leave the leather armor, and 2 of the daggers so that I at least look like an adventurer. After getting geared up I decide a good plan of action would be to find whatever passed for a guild around here to sign up and see if I could earn some of those other skills I saw in the tutorial, obviously they wont be as good as if I chose them then, but I imagine the reason they were options is that the system thinks those skills are important for me to have. Speaking of which I should start using magic whenever I have the mana, if the tutorial taught me anything its that it'll be useless until I have a few levels. As I think this I start creating mist.
“Huh it seems thicker now, is it because I'm inside an enclosed space? That would make sense, either way add it to the list of things to test once I find some training room or another.”
A few seconds after I finish speaking I get hit with a snap and a headache signaling my lack of mana. After grimacing for a moment I grab the key from the table and exit the room. On the other side of the door I find myself in a hallway of doors labeled 3 through 10, I lock the room I came from, number 7 with a twist and head down the stairs at one end of the hallway and find myself in a much smaller hallway with doors labeled 1, 2, staff, and kitchen, that ends in a passage into a large room I guess to be the lobby and main area, and stepping into it I'm proven correct as I look around and see very few people around only 2 other people in the room. A guy who is wearing similar clothes to me who I feel is another player and a man standing behind a bar with a plaque with key hooks on it behind him. as I'm looking around the man behind the bar beckons me over.
“Mornin kid, you only paid for the night so unless you need to grab something from the room cough up the key.”
The man behind the bar says, looking him over he's the picture of stereotypical grouchy innkeeper with a rough beard and short brown hair with scars that hint at some adventurous past.
“Nah I've got all my stuff with me.”
I say while handing him the labeled key. As this is going on I notice a slight rumbling in my stomach.
“Speaking of morning do y'all serve breakfast here?”
“We don't serve anything special, just whatever was left over from the previous night in todays case that would be cold Bristle boar roast and rolls. It'll be 5 copper if you're interested.”
After mulling it over for a moment I decide to decline and instead ask for directions.
“I think I'll pass, on another topic could you point me in the direction of the nearest guild hall for adventurers?”
I was taking something of a gamble, since I'm not sure if that staple of fantasy is present but I figure I'll have to figure that out one way or another so might as well get it over with now.
“If you're looking for the guild district just follow the main road to the center of the city and ask around the dungeon hall to find specific guilds.”
“Thanks for the directions.”
I say as I go to leave before being flagged down by the only other occupant in the main room.
“Hey there tall dark and edgy, you also a player?”
Taken aback for a moment I remember I probably would look quite edgy with the black hair and daggers. With a sigh I pull back a seat to sit down and reply while doing so.
“Yea just got done with the tutorial, what about you? How long have you been down here waiting for someone else to show up?”
“Same story I only had to wait about 5 minutes before you showed up, anyway I'll get to the point I was kinda curious to see how other players chosen playstyle affected their starting equipment and skill choice.”
As I was getting ready to shoot a follow up question he cuts me off.
“In my case I plan on being a Warrior using a sword and shield to clear raids. And my skills were mostly combat focused with the exception of the Strength and Marching skills, my starting equipment was a sword, shield, and some chainmail, as well as some other miscellaneous stuff.”
I wasn't gonna participate but he seems like the earnest type so I guess ill be nice.
“Well for myself I plan on going as a rogue who specializes in daggers as well as whatever magic I end up with and using that to hunt monsters for parts. As for skills I had a mix of combat, movement and 2 odd ones being Monster butcher, and Dexterity. The equipment I got was 4 daggers leather armor and what amounts to camping supplies. I also got 10 gold, how about you?”
“I also started with 10 gold, seems like the default” He responds with.
“Also what form of magic did you go with?” I ask
“I chose to wait, its not a priority for me so unless something comes up I'm not too worried about it, what about you?”
“I went with sorcerer.”
“Did you get an interesting element?”
“Fog” I say as I use Create to make some generate.
“Seems like a good choice for a rogue, did you have to reroll or did you get that first try?” He asks with a friendly smirk.
“Second try, first was fire figured that wouldn't help with being sneaky so I passed it up.” As I reply the innkeeper shouts at me.
“No magic in the building unless you want to get kicked out!”
With an apologetic bow and a “Sorry!” I stand up to leave before the warrior stops me again.
“before you head out I'm going by Drake here, what about you?”
This takes me aback as I realize I was never prompted for an in game name, I guess that'll be handled on your own. After taking a few seconds to think I decide to just use my last name, it sounds edgy and fake anyways and it fits the fog magic.
“I'll be going by Gloom. Anyway I'm heading to that Dungeon hall to figure out how to find quests see you around Drake.”
“Later Gloom.” He says with a wave and a smirk, I guess he thinks the name matches as well.
Stepping out side the inn I look around and find myself on a busy street with buildings and small stalls lining it to the right I see in the distance maybe 500 feet away is a gate attacked to a wall, I assume that's the exit so to get to the center I'll go the other way. After walking for a few minutes I see a stall selling what looks like sausages in a tortilla and I stop and grab a few for 1 silver giving a gold and getting 9 silver in return I'll bet that pattern will hold for the rest of the currency denominations identifying the silver coins gives me.
1 silver piece (uncommon) 4pcs
And
5 silver piece (uncommon)
I'm guessing copper pieces are common and platinum are whatever is better than rare. Anyway I put one of the sausage's in my inventory to see if it stays warm, so I can find out if I'm gonna be living off rations or not, and the other I ate. It was pretty decent for random street food and I washed it down with some water from the water skin, and continued on my way. After about 20 more minutes of walking I found myself in a part of the city with significantly larger buildings and the road ends at a large building with a sign that reads Beyford dungeon hall, guess I know what city I'm in now, speaking of which I should probably find a map. With that thought I step up and enter the building.
