Chapter 2 - Flesh Seal

Chapter 2 - Flesh Seal

Sitting on a chair in the middle of pure white room that gave off an incredibly holy feeling was a young man, perhaps in his 20's. Short black hair and pure blue eyes. He could be considered handsome enough to make even some men turn homosexual, but the dark bags under his eyes and his tired demeanor gave a different image from what should be seen.

Grabbing at his face whilst gritting his teeth, the old man suddently shot up and screamed out "Fuck! Why am I even in here!? There's no fucking point!"

Suddently, a voice resounded from nowhere "Calm down, God. You know full well that even you need some rest now. Just let us handle this."

Although the voice said this, it was shaky and evidently either hurt or scared. Perhaps both. God slammed his hand on the table, pulverizing it in his anger. However, after a couple minutes of deep breaths, he sat down on the chair once again.

The voice from before sighed in relief and was about to recede when it heard God mumbling. "600 million years... 600 fucking million years I've been fighting... Just a little bit longer... just a tiny bit longer..." God was evidently trying to psyche himself up.

The voice could sympathize with him. Although back in it's home world it was considered the Chief God, in this particular army, it was mere cannon fodder. Furthermore, it hadn't even lived more then a million years, and it knew that God was at least a couple trillion years old, if not more.

And like this, God fell asleep once again. Although falling asleep might be the wrong term, as it merely entered a deep recovery state. Gods don't need sleep after all.

When he woke up a thousand years later, he immediately checked on all the progress of the war. His preparations were finally complete, and his 'generals' as they were called had set up everything he needed.

There was a time God thought of himself as omnipotent, but only now did he realize how wrong he was. He thought he could do everything, but he never actually checked or in truth, barely did anything. Now, however, he understood that there is no such thing as 'omnipotent'. It simply does not exist.

Teleporting away from his divine plane, he reappeared next in a strange, black space. This was a spacial distortion, and the reason it was this black was that a titanic seal was placed in here.

It didn't take long for God to realize all the way back at the start of the war that X was essentially invincible, but it was slow and couldn't actually hurt him easily. However, this went both ways. Neither party could truly hurt each other, and X's initial attack was by pure luck and stupidity on God's part.

Now, God had spent millions of years finding seals and ways to counter X, with limited success, sure, but still some success. This had given him much, much needed hope back when everything seemed ready to be destroyed by the abomination.

Now, he had succesfully sealed it in this distortion. He still needed to send troops to fight it off by attracting it's attention and blocking it from fully concentrating on the seal, but it was still possible to do.

Countless universes had been eaten away by X before the sealing, and the damage was completely irreparable. This had not only hurt God, as technically speaking he is the conscience of the Multiverse itself, but also brought about chaos and given rise to... unpleasant factions.

Worshippers of Destruction, Unholy Lords and Devouring Angels had sprung up at the opportunity and began to worship X, spreading further chaos in the already chaotic multiverse.

God, as a being of pure neutrality towards the multiverse, could only grit his teeth and resist the impulse to wipe them all out. He had only let his subordinates deal with them, but it was never enough.

However, right now, that was the least of his concerns. During his sleep, he had finally formulated a formula that theoritically speaking, could finally defeat X. Although defeat might be the wrong word, if he used his cards correctly, X would not only be sealed away, but he would also be able to study it harmlessly.

God took in a deep breath and then stepped inside of the distortion. Immediately, the sight that greeted him was one that he had seen many times, but still shook his heart.

Angels fleeing desperately from hungry tendrils, gods launching attacks capable of wiping out planets constantly, immortals using their heavenly arts and even endless army of undead commanded by the undead gods. Demon gods constantly trying to corrupt X or erode it away, only to flee when the recoil of their failed attempts almost disintegrated them.

At the center of it all, a titanic monster with billions of arms and at least trillions of miles tall stood like an immovable fortress, constantly assaulted by all sides but never even flinching. On the opposite, it feasted on all the measly attacks. The moment God entered the battlefield, the two gigantic, glowing red eyes fixed themselves on him.

A flashback of the first time he felt pain in his life passed through God's mind, but he suppressed it through sheer willpower and experience. This was not the time to hesitate.

Roaring out like an exploding star, countless clones of all shapes and sizes appeared besides God, just like an army descended from the heavens.

Upon seeing this, all the warriors who had been stalling X sighed in relief and each retreated by their own methods. Teleportation, gateways and ultra-speed flight being only a bunch of them.

X looked at God with a predatory gaze and it's billions of arms all descended upon the clone army. This was the most realistic case of the devil against god to be ever seen by the multiverse, but neither of the contestant had time to appreciate the joke.

Terrifying seals and arcane arts were fired as if a dam was suddently broken by the clone army. Millions of X's arms were sealed away in only the first wave of attacks, but they simply regrew, and God could swear it was laughing at him judging by the pseudo-smile on it's demonic face.

As the hungry arms crashed upon the army, each clone scattered in different directions, each chased by tens of tentacles/arms/???.

As for God's main body, it was being chased by thousands of X's arms. He skillfully evaded and sealed them away, slowly leading X away from the distortion's seal.

This countinued for weeks until they finally reached the final defense of the seal. God silently undid the seal, hoping, praying to some higher powers that X's intelligence hadn't advanced since their first meeting, since any semi-intelligent being could tell this obviously was a trap.

However, X was not even 1/4 intelligent. It's intelligence could, at most, be considered at the level of a snail, only basic instincts. It knew that God was tasty, so it wanted to eat God more then anything else. There is no 'if' or 'but', only 'want' or 'need' in it's mind.

As God suddently rushed away from X, he reappeared in front of 4 Greater Gods, the strongest of the gods apart from himself.

Looking at them with a grim expression, they nodded expressionesly. What they had done could not be forgiven, and they knew it full well even if it was necessary. Their psyche as gods could never allow them mental rest, and as such, they chose to sacrifice themselves for the greater good now.

Positioning themselves in a square formation with God at the center, the Greater Gods began chanting and making hand signs. Terrifying ondulations came out from their bodies and a titanic seal was immediately erected around them with only one entrance point.

And soon enough, from said entrance point, a colossal figure appeared: X. Upon seeing God, it howled a universe-shaking howl and charged at God like a wild boar. God didn't even open his eyes however, as X suddently found itself frozen in place.

Then, massive amounts of dismembered and disfigured flesh began to flow out from the abyss and converge into X, restricting it's movements.

X's bloody eyes opened wide and it began to struggle fiercely, albeit uselessly. This formation used the power of souls as fuel, and it had received innumerable amounts of them. As such, not even X could break out of it in less then an hour.

As X roared and struggled, the 4 gods began to slowly fade away from existance, as their very existances were consumed by the formation. God stayed silent, but his heart weeped. These were the only beings that had existed since before this accursed war, and some of the few he truly cared about.

As torrents of flesh and blood flowed into X, it's struggles gradually grew weaker and weaker until it completely stopped, it's colossal body densely locked inside the even more colossal amounts of flesh.

Then, as by the plan, God's eyes suddently shot open and the galaxy-sized wriggling ball of flesh condensed, crushing X inside of it until it was the size of a person.

X's essence began to seep out from the insides and invade the flesh, gradually corroding and eating it away. God knew that this was the crucial part of the plan, and should it fail, the multiverse would be done for.

A beautiful apple that radiated a brilliant green color appeared in his hand. This was the Universal Tree's last gift.

God fully knew that the Universal Tree was the real mvp in saving the multiverse. It had sacrificed it's life to make a perfectly-weaved plan in order to lure X and fully seal it. Not only that, but he had provided a method to get rid of it once and for all. Sort of.

God shot forward and shoved the apple into the ball of flesh. It was immediately eaten up by the flesh and it disappeared inside the thing's stomach in less then the blink of an eye.

Then, everything grew still. The struggles stopped and X's invasion came to a halt, then retreated back inside the body.

Slowly, a condensed, round gem appeared inside the flesh's core, It was black with shades of red here and there, but the main change appeared outside, to the flesh.

Slowly, it began to take shape. It wasn't just a mere moving piece of flesh that had no mind anymore, no. This was the power that the Universal Tree had given it's life for: The ability to grant anything and anyone enlightment and intelligence.

When the flesh finally stopped reforming, a petite, sixteen years old girl with long white hair that reached her ankles and an overly pale, bordering on unhealthy tone of skin. Although her eyes were closed, God could tell they were the very same eyes that X had, a glowing bloody red. Strangely enough, instead of normal human ears the girl had cat ears and a tail the same color of her hair. [Deal with it, I'm a cat-loving fan ( ͡° ᴥ ͡°)]

God suddently fell to his knees, sweating and panting. It was a success.
