6am. Rinnnnnggggg.....[As I struggle to turn of my alarm.] uggghh... it's time to get up, I feel like utter shit. Staying up late was a mistake. Damn Josh and Stacey hope they stab their pinky toes. Shit that thought made me wince.
Ok time to get up and get ready. First is a shower, than breakfast before I have to pick up my friends and head to school.
Once I finish showering, I head down stairs and start smelling food Drifting through the hallway. Looks like my mom is making bacon with eggs, and some french toast with jam and a cup of OJ. This just improved my mood a thousand percent%. "Good morning mom, thank you for the food." As I sat down ready to chow down. "I thought I told you to sleep early before tomorrow Drew! Now look at you with baggy eyes and your hairs disheveled still, at least style your hair before you go." My mom nagged at me while I ate my breakfast. "Sorry Mom, I was just too excited to sleep, i'll put some gel before I go." I said while eating.
Once I finished eating, I headed to my room in a hurry to get my suitcase and car keys. Alright now time to say farewell to my family. All of sudden I felt my heart ache again when the thought of my family came to mind. What the hell is this feeling, just like last night before I slept. A sence of dread. It wasn't like this last school trip while being apart from family. Is it really because of what Stacey said last night? I locked the feeling in the back of my mind and soul as I headed back downstairs.
BAMMMM... Mark and April rushed at me with bear hugs. "Don't go Drew, I dont want to be left alone with ugly little brother pleaseeee." my little sister said with teary eyes. "Hey who are you calling ugly and little when I'm older than you stupid April." Marks Face flushed in anger. "Now... now... no fighting when your brother's about to leave on his trip you two!" My Mom grabbed them gently off me with a look of worry. I looked at both of them and gave them each a big hug.
"Jeez i'm not even gone yet and you're both already at each others throats! Calm down ill be back before you know it, you little monstors." I didn't sound confident, almost as if picking up the hesitation in my voice, my mom looked at me with worry. Opps don't want to worry her when i'm about to leave. "Mark remember you're the man of the house now, Protect your mom and sister for me, and April try to be nice to your brother more. Bye mom, dont worry i'll be safe."
In a hurry, I hugged them and said goodbye before my mother could question me, She'd probably keep me home awhile longer interrogating me while my friends where waiting outside wondering what's taking me so long.
As I head outside, I meet up with Robbie and Holly who have luggage in hand and dressed up in flower decorated clothing, just the right clothing for hawaii. "Damn y'all couldn't wait till we actually got too hawaii, Rob and Hol?" I said sarcastically.
"Shut it, you moron." Holly didn't seem fully awake and in a bad mood.
"We didn't get enough sleep last night, we were too excited about the trip so we stayed up late talking while watching a movie till the sun came up, our parents weren't pleased when they found us half asleep on the couch." Robbie had an equal tired expression as his sister.
"Well atleast you'll probably be able to sleep in the flight without a problem." I said."let's get going before the others get impatient and come to our houses." We put all our belongings in my car.
Once inside, I start getting ready to back away and see both of our families standing in front of my house with worried expressions while waving goodbye at us, again I start having that bad feeling when I look at my family still not able to put a reason for it. Alright deep breaths, smile and wave with a confident smile as to not worry them anymore.
While driving down the road we have small talk and arrive at Joshes house. Both Josh and Stacey are already waiting with their famlies seeing them off. I hop out of my car poping my trunk open for their belongings and overhear Stacey father talking to Josh. He was a big muscle head who'd look like he'd break my arms like twigs.
"Josh boy remember if anything happens to my precious princess, I will find you and I will kill you! No... death won't be enough. I'll break you to the point where death is what you want, do you hear me boy!" Josh stared at him without flinching and with a calm face, no wonder he's brave enough to date this mans daughter. "Roy your daughter learned how to fight from you, there's no way she'd need me to protect her and if you dare threaten me again i'll kill you." Josh said with the same calm face. Mr. Roy was beaming red with anger and then out of nowhere burst out laughing. "HA HA HA Very well Josh boy we shall see!" Roy had a devilish grin.
He then came walking my way with a serious demeanor. "Drew boy I'm counting on you to keep her safe aswell, and everyone else with you." Shit how does Josh withstand this pressure but can't handle Stacey I just don't get it. "Yes Mr. Roy i'll keep an eye out and make sure they don't get in trouble." I was not able to hold the slight quiver in my voice, Why in the hell did the responsibility of the group always fall onto me. Satisfied Mr. Roy was ready to walk back but stopped when he saw his wife and stiffen in fear. I dont understand why she didn't look at him any differently, it seemed only he could tell what she conveyed with a stare. He walked back like a dog with his tail between his legs. I wonder if this is how we are gonna be one day?
Once both Josh and Stacey said goodbyes to their famlies we left towards Joeys house who was 3 blocks away.
"Joester hurry the fuck up we still got to pick up Mia." said Stacey in an impatient tone. Can't really blame her we're running low on time, we still got 20 minutes before we have to line up at school, and from Mias house it's 15 minutes away from school we'll barely make it in time.
"Alright, alright coming!.... what a bitch.... can't believe I let them convince me to go, and I won't be play Cod for two weeks, the tortureeee."Said joey in a barely audible voice.
"WHAT WAS THAT YOU SHIT." Somehow Stacey had heard his whisper.
"Alright everyone settle down, Joey is everything in the trunk now?" I said.
"Yee yeeep... i'm closing the trunk now!" In a fluster Joey hurriedly said goodbye to his family and got in the back seat to avoid Stacey.
As I was about to pull out, I got a call from a friend named Jamal.

"Hey Drew brooo.... I need your help, my car is stalling and we're like 10 minutes away from the school, I got Desmond to pick up Richard, Jesus and Maria but me and Layla are still stuck on the road can you pick us up?" Jamal sounded really anxious.
Shit we were already at full capacity with seven people! Adding two more is gonna be a squeeze plus the luggage. Well we can probably make it work.
"Ight i'll see what I can do once I get there, it'll probably be a tight squeeze you cool with that?" luckily it's in the same direction as Mia, so we won't lose much time but we have to be extra fast.
"You're a life saver Drew, I lovvve you." I heard a seductive female voice in the background must be Layla, she is african american with beautiful hazel eyes and her hair was cut really short, almost like a military haircut but that only added more to her beauty. Jamal was african american aswell and close to 7 foot, very muscular with dreads as his hairstyle.
"See you soon, make sure y'all are ready when we get there, we aren't gonna have much time left for the Meeting!" I hung up after a few exchage of words, and started towards Mias house.
I pulled up to Mias driveway and saw her say goodbye to her family. "Yo we need to hurry, we gotta pick up Jamal and Layla from the road, his shitty truck broke down." I said as I laughed and helped her put her things in my trunk.
Mia responded by punching me in the arm. "You're only helping Jamal because of Layla aren't you?" She suspected me.
"Haha you're right you got me!" I said sarcastically. She smiled dangerously at me.
"Wha...wha..what is that look Mia?" My back is fully drenched in cold sweat.
"You'll see in the future what I will do to you, don't even think you'll get away!" Now I was really scared what did I do. [Robbie I need you next to me!] I said in my head.
Almost as if to answer my prayer Robbie spoke up. "Incase y'all didn't know, we are on a time limit. Hurry up, you can chitchat inside." Robbie looked at me annoyed.
Once everyone was settled in, we headed towards Jamal and Layla's location. I pulled alongside the road in front their broken vehicle. I then popped opened my trunk that was packed! It's gonna be a tight squeeze, thank god the schools not that far from here.
"Drew brodie, I owe you one." Jamal said in a cheerful tone. Than inturrupted by Layla.
"Drewwwy, we are so lucky to have you save ussss!" Layla said in an even more seductive voice. "I don't even know what me and Jamal would've done to get to school. Desmond and Jesus said they'd try to stall for time and pick us up, if you weren't able to get us." She had a worried expression on her face.
"No worries, only problem is these next few minutes are gonna be cramped, especially with Jamal's big body." We looked at each other wryly. I don't even know how we got everyone's luggage to fit inside.
We have me in the driver seat, Holly in the middle front and Robbie front passenger. In the middle we got Joey, with Stacey glaring daggers right next to him. Also in the middle where Mia and Layla not talking or looking at each other [awkward]. In the back is Josh and Jamal with luggage right next to them. What an uncomfortable situation atleast the front and back seem normal.
I pulled up to the schools Parking lot, happy to still see people entering the auditorium where we are supposed to meet.
We all got outside the vehicle, some of us stretching others getting their luggage. Once everyone got their belongings we headed in as a group. Inside was our principle who's with 10 other teachers, one being Mr. Jorge who winks and tells us to sit on the stands and wait.
The group meets up with Desmond, Jesus, Richard and Maria. Desmond is african american similar build like Joey [not athletic and nerdish] with afro hair. Jesus and Maria are both latino, Jesus has medium wavy black hair, isn't tall or short and is in the Futbol [soccer] team. Maria is a cold beauty who let's no one close to her with long Black hair down to her waist with goldish eyes an ice queen. Richard is a Canadian transfer student who plays for our schools hockey team he's tall with brown hair with a bulky physique. Everyone talks for the next 5 mins till the principal stands on stage and everyone goes quiet.
"Alright everyone, we are going to start forming groups by teacher. After the teachers are done you will all go to your assigned bus, where we will distribute food for those that didn't get to eat breakfast at home or at the cafeteria. Alright Mr. Jorge, if you will start calling your class. If anyone has questions come to me or the counselors, also those that screw around before they leave won't be allowed to go or will be locked in their hotel rooms until it is time to return home. Becareful your actions have consequences to not only you but everyone else with you, have fun and be safe." The principle left to join the other councelors and help students with questions.
"ALRIGHT ROLL CALL, everyone in my class lineup and we'll head to bus #3." said Mr. Jorge.
Luckily everyone in our group is in Mr. Jorges class. Once everyone is in line we head for the buses and drive for 20 minutes to the airport. Once at the airport we wait till 11am to board our plane seems there where delays. Alot of us where upset and complaining while waiting.
I see Stacey trembling as we start boarding the plane I nudge Josh to do something to help Stacey but it seems he doesn't know what to do, so I get the girls to help Stacey calm down.
I also feel myself tremble but not enough for anyone to notice. Why am I feeling a stronger sence of dread, at this point I won't be able to hide my fear, i'm starting to feel like i'm being buried in a coffin.
Is it just me and Stacey the only ones feeling this fear. I look around my pears but see nothing but smiles, laughter and relieve. I just got to calm down, take deep breaths. It's at this point where Holly comes behind me "Hey Drew are you okay? you look like you've seen a ghost, your face is so pale." she looked worried which made me calm down. "It's nothing just a little wozzy, i'll be fine once I get some rest." I said in the strongest tone I could muster. She still looked at me worriedly.
Before she could say anything else, we were Inturrupted by speakers. "This is your captain speaking class of 20XX, we are beginning take off too hawaii please listen to the stewardess and comply with safety, I hope you enjoy your flight with us thank you!" With that there was a cheer throughout the cabin as we start to prepare for take off.
I was seated about the middle of the plane. In my row where Holly, Joey and Mia with a new female addition named Aoi. She was a Japanese beauty with curly brown hair to her neck a kind and caring friend who exchaged schools from Japan also speaks fluently in english, behind us were Josh, Stacey, Robbie with Jamal and Layla and behind them where Jesus, Desmond and Maria with two other classmates I couldn't tell who they were.
Throughout the flight we talk and watch movies to pass the time. My sence of Dread slowly dissipating. About 6 hrs later I start feeling sleepy with boredom, I pull down my Sleep mask and quickly fall asleep surprisingly.
SHAKKKKEEE....TREMBBLEEE.... Startled by the screams and shakingness of the plane. I wake up surprised, I wasn't the only one confused to what was happening. Someone yells to look outside the plane!!! I peer outside, to my horror all I see is a hurricane about to engulf our plane with lightning stricking every direction, the engine on the plane hit and on fire. "What the hell is going on?" I panicked and asked anyone. "I don't know it was bright and normal outside a second ago." said Josh. For the first time in my life I see fear in Joshs face. How in the hell did a hurricane form this fast?!!! The plane started lurching downward, everyone was screaming for their lives. I felt both my arms grabbed by Aoi and Holly, Both had tears in their eyes that broke my heart and I thought of my family, is this what that dread was. "It's ok, we will be fine, look at me." I said in a reaffirming tone. the lights in the plane went out.
"MAYDAY, MAYDAY, we are going down, the systems aren't FUCKING WORKING, OH GOD BOTH WINGS ARE ON FIRE! How did this happen where did a storm like this come from, and how in the hell is it pitch black outside," PULL UP... PULL UP... PUL... the computer and electronics all shut off. In pitch darkness the pilots look in horror as they try everything to not fall into the abyss.
