“Alright aaaaaaaand we aaaaaare heeeeeere!” Shuzuka finally pulls up to what looks like a nice place it’s got a small metal fence around it and multiple floors. The neighborhood is fairly Barron of zombies at the moment.
“Your friend lives here? Damn what do they do?” looking up at the impressive place on a fairly wealthy street. It’s obviously not something that a normal job could afford on their own or with a school nurses’ salary.
“Oh, she is a sniper or something like that for the military. Hmm, I think?” Shizuka sort of just trails off staring blankly. How does a school nurse just casually know a sniper for the military that lives in luxury?
“Regardless let’s get inside and start loading stuff up. Let’s GO people!”
To better defend the place Shizuka parks the bus right in front of the gate that opens inward so the space between is only enough for one person to move at a time. This should limit how many zombies can press on the gate at once. We get inside and the place is fantastic its like a rich person’s condo in here. A nicely furnished wooden floor with a large kitchen and large bathroom with a hot tub and multiple side rooms.
“This place was just your friends?” One of the girls asks.
“Yaaaaa she did like to party though~” Shizuka looks on tiredly drained from driving all day and constantly being warry of our surroundings probably a bit about watching all the death too.
“LET’S TAKE A BATH!” She proclaims and starts stripping on her way to the bathroom.
“Miss Shizuka um maybe wait until your in the bathroom before you uh you know!” I call out as I turn around much to Saeko and Saya’s amusement.
“Mehhh to much work.” I turn around briefly seeing just her head poking out from around the door as she tosses her pants out the door. That’s when I feel two smacks on my head.
“Haru where do you think you're looking?” Saya hits me across the head then shakes her hand a bit.
“Yes, not getting enough, are you? You were doing so well too!” Saeko barbs at me.
“No no no I uh definitely love you more Saeko, just uh you know I uh was curious? I’ll never act on it though! So don’t worry!” Oh jeez, I fucked up. Why did I have to say that why did I have to keep talking?
“What a dork. Yes, she's hot we all know that no reason to say all that extra stuff.” Saeko bops me on the head again with a smile this time.
“Come on girls let's all take a bath, it’s been a long day and we could use a nice soak.” Auntie starts to go into the bathroom with Rei, Saya, Saeko, and the five other girls in our group.
One of the guys starts to try to follow them when I grab his shoulder.
“IF I find out any of you peeked on Saeko, my Aunt, or one of the others, the zombies will be the least of your concern.” I turn and glare at the males in our group. They all cringe and shudder a bit at the implied threat.
“Good now let’s make ourselves useful. Takashi, Hirano wanna take a look around the place and take stock of the supplies while we unload our other supplies from the bus?”
“Sure! She said the owner of this place was in the military there might be some guns or something around here!” Hirano starts to look in every drawer, closet, and container in this place.
“Haha, Takashi just make sure he doesn’t do anything weird. If he does and you let it happen, I’ll tell Rei about it when she gets out haha.” I force out a bit of a laugh to make it’s not something serious but the look I give him while I do makes Takashi go wide-eyed. He quickly chases after Hirano to make sure he doesn’t mess up anything.
“Alright let’s get this shit inside and sorted!”
We unpack for a while; the girls are taking a long time in the bathroom. We can hear giggling and screams of laughter coming from in there. Eventually, Auntie calls for me at the door. I can’t see anything but her wet hair down the side.

“Haru dear can you grab us a few beers please ~” I sigh Auntie doesn’t really drink much but when she does, she gets weird. By that I mean she acts like a kid. Harumphing a bunch and throwing little tantrums it's why I asked her to drink less in the house once I started living there. Regardless it’s been a stressful day so I can't really blame her.
“Fiiiine just don’t overdo it. And please have Saya or someone is the designated sober person to make sure no one does anything too dumb in there.” I go into the bags and get four cases of beer. Is this enough? I don’t really drink but I think this is enough for all of them?
I knock on the door and Shizuka answers it. What surprises me though is that rather than hiding behind the door like I was expecting she opens it all the way and I’m face to face with 5’9 of long blond-haired bare beauty. I instantly feel myself blushing.
“Shizuka! Um, here's the beer!” I turn my face.
“Ooooo goodie! Girls Haru got us the beer!” She calls out to the bathroom area behind her, and I hear cheers.
“Good boy” confused I turn to see her about to kiss my cheek. A moment of surprise before I pull back thanks to my speed. A little too fast though as I slip on a bit of water falling down into the bathroom a bit but I ball up to not see anything.
“huhu naughty boy.” I feel her above me but I’ve got my eyes coved.
“So-sorry miss Shizuka um. Please get off of me. I don’t want to upset Saeko.”
“Oh? Dear Saeko was right about you. You are loyal. Here I thought maybe you’d try to take advantage of me. Good boy after all.” I feel a pat on my head as she helps me up and directs me out. After a bit, I turn around and look over as she bends down to get the beer. And immediately turn away again.
“Goodnight Haru!”
She goes inside the bathroom again now with the beer as I sit there pondering my existence.
I hear something from the bathroom that surprises me too.
“Eeeeh Shizuka where's your towel? Weren't you just talking to Haru?” I hear Saya's loud voice.
“Yes, he got the beer! He's a loyal one Saeko I was on top of him, and he still didn’t take a bite. Luuuucky~” Shizuka comments.
“Can we please not talk about Haru in here. He's like my son and it's weird to hear about him that way.” Thanks, auntie I’m glad you at least are reasonable.
“So Saeko does he wield his sword one-handed or two?” I hear one of the other girls I think it’s the pesky redhead from before asking.
Aaaand I’m out of here. I get up take a look around and see I’m the only one around before going upstairs to see what the other guys are all staring at.
“Look Haru we found a gun locker and inside there were all these guns!”
Before me on the floor are 4 guns and a crossbow.
“Haru it’s a Springfield M1A1 supermatch it's semiautomatic and has an extended clip!” Hirano is going a bit crazy and starts describing all of the guns in scary detail but it all just morphs together as it doesn’t mean much to me.
To sum it up we have three rifles a shotgun and a crossbow.
“How do you know all these things, Hirano?” Looking at him whipping down the rifles with a gentle cloth.
“Oh, I spent some time in America where I was trained by this instructor that use to work for a private military company.” Wasn’t he bullied a lot before? Ever since he got a gun he's been a lot more confident and happier. Kind of glad gun laws are a bit stricter here since it kind of worries me what that would mean in normal life.
“Great at least the gun nut is on our side. Come on guys let's start loading the magazine with bullets for preparation!” Me and the other four guys start slowly loading the guns.
“Man, it’s getting late I’m hitting the hay. Where are the guys sleeping again?” One of the extra guys asks.
“Men are staying upstairs girls downstairs two people per room. Me and Takashi can share the living room. I’m a bit of a light sleeper so I want to be nearby and ready in case something happens.” I also just don’t trust everyone and want to keep my ears open in case someone tries to make off with supplies.
“Makes sense makes sense.” He waves his hand off as him and most of the other guys make their way to their rooms. Me, Takashi, and Hirano just sit there on a blanket looking at the guns when the sound of gunshots going off in the distance alerts us.
Hirano gets up quickly with one of the guns and goes out to the balcony. “Hey, guys! Turn on the news I think they are broadcasting what's going on at the bridge!”
We flip it on surprised that it’s still working to see a newscaster standing in front of the bridge on the other side where the infected haven't gotten yet.
“And so, the local police and military are working together to contain this undead disease. But many people here are still protesting at the idea that the government is behind this horrible phenomenon.” The camera cuts to a man inciting a group of people to fight back against the government for unleashing this bioweapon on us. Then we see an officer walk up and shoot him in the head.
“Oh oh my I…it appears that they have been permitted to use deadly force. We will be moving back to get out of the police and military's way as they continue to defend the bridge from possible infection. This is Tiana Hima coming to your life!”
We watch in awe as we see the police open fire on the crowds of people and undead alike crowding the bridge way. They stopped showing it on the news so we had to watch from the balcony with scopes and binoculars. That’s when we see the tractors start to bulldoze the cars and remaining people that took the cover off the bridge. This is too much.
“I don’t think we are getting across that bridge,” I say to Takashi.
“We need to get the fuck out of here though. People are going crazy… There were people. There were children on that bridge I saw on the news. Parents holding their kids… Desperate to get them to a safer place than this? this is hell!” Takashi just stares for a long time.
