My name is Aaron Matherson; I live a fairly normal life going day by day never really amounting to anything interesting really but can’t really feel enough emotion to really care. I was above average in school but didn’t quite measure up in college since I didn’t really have a drive I just sort of existed. I did well at a low-income job, so I just kept doing that. Years passed I never really felt anything like a passion for anything so it just sort of all faded away until I was just sort of a husk doing my day-to-day job. I’ll admit I got a little depressed then that depression just sort of faded into the norm became a part of the routine that became my life.

I was walking home one day from work another casual day no different from the last several hundred when suddenly I felt it. A tug, a pull on my heart. Was this the end? Am I going to die? Will, will it be over? I struggle for a moment on if I should fight the feeling or not. I want to live but also feel like I am okay with passing on. However, the feeling in my chest is less like pain and more like a pull. I fumble with my phone to call 911 unable to call out over the grimace the fear of dying still welling inside me no matter how much I hate my life. The world starts to fade to black I feel like I can’t even really comprehend my feelings I’m scared, I’m sad but also there's this deep part of me that is happy that I don’t want to admit even in my dying breath.

I feel the pain pull until release. All around me is darkness I feel like my body is gone and all that exists is a perception of the emptiness around me. Above all in front? I can't tell what direction is what since I sort of view every direction as forward. Regardless there is a screen that… that doesn’t make any sense.

Elsewhere in the dimension of endless darkness. A small home rests undisturbed by the passage of time long since left to the ages of time. Viewing in from the window a small bedroom can be seen with a bed and a monitor.

A large mass underneath a pile of pillows moves a bit in response to all the loud sounds that are coming from beside their bed. A red flashing light scorches their eyes in their attempt to open them before they give up and close them again. The figure sturs a bit when the sound starts at first before it finally goes away. Returning to their peaceful sleep, only for the annoying noise to start up again more persistently. The figure reaches out a hand and smacks at the sound aimlessly until it turns off. With the noise finally stopping it smiles before relaxing back into its bed.

OKAY, that’s a good reason to uh finish those karmic quests? Well, I guess it shouldn’t be that bad. I feel like it would be more normal to freak out at these sorts of things, but I think that’s what the soul damage did to me. Maybe that’s why I never really felt anything like passion or joy about things and just dealt with the day-to-day. Maybe I’ll be able to enjoy things? That’s a little exciting and scary to think about.
