AN: This will be the beginning of a series. As such I know how it ends but everything in between is still a mystery to me on how to describe it. Open to suggestions.

The opening of a door reached Mary's ears after witnessing the person who broke in. He had a dark cloak on like the ones you would often see in movies. Everything about the intruder screamed that he was a bad guy. Mary quickly drew her sword

"You must be Thief X." The figure looked at her she thought. His face seemed to be hidden inside of a mask. 'This man is high leveled' She immediately thought that based on her hunch and instinct as a high leveled player herself. So who will make the first move.

"........" Thief X wasn't expecting a guard to be in front of the door. His informant was told him that the door to the room was unguarded. The king must have expected traitors inside of his court and prepared a counter measure. I guess he isn't as useless as we thought. Either way this was outside of calculation. 'They' are going to pay me more for overtime. He took out his duo knives and immediately rushed the women.

...Fast! Mary rose her sword to block the first knife. She faced many dual bladed fighters and she knew that blocking the first attack was the easiest. It's the second attack that is the problem. The second knife was going for the gap in her armor under the armpit. She spun to deflect the attack punching the second hand while she spun. She pointed her sword up and thrust for his neck. Thief X used his forward momentum to continue and dive out of the way. Mary felt a tug on her sword. She had managed to get him! Thief X landed on the floor and stood up. His leg was bleeding. A small cut to his thigh was nothing yet. Mary rose her sword again to prepare for the next rush.

"....." This swordswomen managed to cut me of all people. Thief X wasn't expecting a guard of her caliber to be in the Draken Kingdom army. Which meant she was probably hired. He tested his leg. He could still fight but his time was running out. He opened his pouch.

Mary watched as he stomped his injure foot down. He began to take out something. "LIKE I WOULD LET YOU!" Mary charged in with her sword raised. Using her "Warrior's Charge" skill she could dash forward 5 meters in an instant. Thief X had taken out a small ball and threw it directly in her charge's direction. Mary canceled the skill and shielded herself. The ball exploded into a smokescreen and she heard the sound of a window breaking. Waiting until the smoke cleared she went to the window where she heard broke.

"Dammit, he got away." This job she took will be more troublesome then she thought.

Thief X jumped over the castle wall. Using the rooftops as cover he headed to the rendezvous point. This job is turning out to be more troublesome then he thought.
