I walked through the near-deserted streets, looking for any trouble I could, a familiar bird flew in the distance, landing on the roof of the town church, staring at me. Beckoning me over. And walk to it, I did. Nearing the church I didn't get what I desired, not one cultist to split in two, I was disappointed, to say the least. Flying down, I held out my arm for it to land on, and it perched on my arm, "Is there something you want me for?" I asked it, knowing I'd get no answer. It opened its beak to reveal a small piece of intricately detailed titanium, lined with gold, "Is this for me?" I asked rhetorically, I already knew the answer, but it was polite to ask. Taking it in my hand I was able to get a better look at it, the top of it had something that slots into it, it looked like the end part of a long key, suddenly I had an unexplainable feeling of pain in my chest, specifically my Magi - [The organ in charge of putting mana into the blood, often called a Magic or Mana Heart] -, the pain was so sharp that I fell to my knees, for a moment I felt as though I couldn't breath, then the pain developed in my head along with my chest, knowledge suddenly filling my mind, understanding of something that should be long dead, almost immediately my eyes changed, a symbol was burned into them, one that I could read without previously learning such, the knowledge that flooded my mind was of a language, one used by those that were Precursors to the Dominion. The creators of the language were Elven. But the language was not Elven, I knew Elven. Over the course of a minute, my sight became more colourful and bright, but only in a radius around the church, everything else became darker, all except for what little I could see of what was outside of the town's boundaries. Without understanding why, I knew it was because of corruption. I looked at the Raven, who had returned to the roof of the church when I fell, only to see the forms of angels, standing guard above the church, they were motionless like statues. The pain faded, the new sight remained, The Raven flew down, a parchment in its beak that it dropped onto the ground for me to read, it flew back up onto the church's roof again.

Was what it read, how I knew how to read the runes that were on the paper was obviously because of this 'Traveller'
"What?" Was all I could say, Turning the Parchment over there was an additional message
'PS - Take care of Huginn
The Traveller'
"Huginn?" as if on cue The Raven flew down and then hopped over to me, staring up at me as if waiting for something. "That's you?" I asked and The Raven cawed at me, I took it as a yes. I chuckled, and my vision slowly returned to normal, no angels, no bright circles around the church, and no corruption. My momentary panic passed and I came to understand what I had just gained. The Goddess had blessed me with new power and knowledge, The Goddess wills the rescue of this lost daughter.
The Goddess Wills It. My heart fills with Divine purpose. 'Deus Vult' Words not spoken for many years. Words used in the wars against the encroaching darkness of that Dark God. The plagues, the disappearances, the Goddess sees and cheers as human will and ingenuity are consistently victorious, she constantly looks out for her children. Not like those Fakes the Imperial Church pushes onto people, My Goddess cares, has hope and love for all of her followers, be they Human or not, she's not like the 'Gods' of the Empire that turned their backs on the world. My Goddess still roots for Humanity to survive and thrive in this dark age. - [I am unsure of where this religious fervour comes from as he does not behave or even write like this again. Perhaps that mind-altering spell affected him differently?] -
Rising to my feet, I tapped my shoulder, an invitation for Huginn to join me.
