Blake stood black hair whispering around his face as he stood, the briny smell of the sea was strong and the spray of the sea disguised the slow hot tears dripping down his face. Why he wondered did they betray him like that… his best friend, Trace strong and brave. Someone who since childhood had been at his back someone who he knew no, thought he could trust and rely on. Mira she was his first crush, love and kiss, from the first time he met her in middle school he was smitten by her beauty her grace and her kindness to everyone. Blake could still remember the joy when he had asked her on a date, and then she had said yes! But darker far more recent memories clouded Blake’s mind as he recalled the brutal discovery that had occurred, this, bitter day.
He had just finished a lesson on small sword. Hot and sweaty he had returned home, made his way into the house, moving as quietly as possible to surprise his to best friend, a smug grin appearing on his face as he smoothly opened the front door. Moving his way through the foyer of his family’s large home he entered the kitchen, creeping his way towards the living room where he was sure they would be.
He stealthy rolled into the room and moved up to check his surrounds, but curiously no one was there, how odd he had thought but before he could ponder the mystery he heard a noise from upstairs. Ah he had realized they must be in his room, probably checking out his new capsule. Resuming his stealthy persona he creaked his way up the stairs making his way to his room, becoming more and more curious as to the noises emanating from the door.
Blake had thrown open the door one to discover the most heartrending sight. Something that could not imagined, the sight of M Mira and Trace making love and breaking his on his own bed! For most people such a sight would have driven them mad with rage, and Blake had felt it, bubbling but, he had also felt a cold emanating out from his heart, a spreading cold. He embraced the numbness and asked in an icy voice exactly what was going on here.
And the response, the response was even worse… They had told him in no uncertain terms with no guilt whatsoever that for the entire time he hand Mira had been dating, Trace and Mira had been in love, and the two had only used as a vehicle for their selfish desire, as with Blake as a cover Mira and Trace could do whatever they wanted with no one suspecting a thing.
The numbness inside Blake spread battling the growing race, but Blake rather than fire chose the cold, and he had spoken to him former most rusted companions “leave” , and they had pulling on cloths and glaring at him like an insect, as they left Trace had brushed past him his bulkier body knocking Blake aside, and Mira spared him one why did you interrupt us you selfish bastard look, before they strode out of his room. Blake wasn't even able to look at the bed. The entire house felt like it was mocking him. Blake fled desperate to escape and every step he took, the cold grew as he fled towards this abandoned peer at the edge of his parent’s property, bordering a grey, threatening sea.
Blake was broken out of his revive by the wooded sound of footsteps walking along the peer, turning for just as second Blake foolishly expected it to be his parents, to tell him it was all going to be ok. But as a grim faced man came into view Blake remembered that his parents would still on route and would still be gone for at least a few more hours. Facing the man he realized blinking it was a police officer; he stared blankly at the grave man before him.

The officer stared intently at Blake before speaking hurriedly “Names Sargent Gawler, my condolences, I hadn't realized you had already heard.”
Blake rubbed a weary had over his eyes as his stomach gave a lurch of dread “heard what?” he echoed blankly, Gawler’s eyes widened. “Youngster” his spoke hesitantly half shock half sympathy “younger your parents are dead, killed in a car crash.” Gawler spoke on but Blake no longer heard him, his world crumbling away. First his friends had betrayed him, and now and now the two people he loved most in the world were gone… forever, a bitter thought surfaced in Blake’s cold grief ridden mind, how could my life get any worse…
It could
A loud bell rang out and Trace and Mira settled into their seats, Mira turned and whispered to Trace “Guess Blake couldn't face going to school.” Trace nodded, head bobbing in agreement and grinned slightly before saying “struck dumb by the truth” In the absence of observers Mira and Trace’s real personalities began to show through, selfish and arrogant, although not evil, they like most normal people had their flaws but they were not generally cruel to strangers. But calling them good would be a far greater stretch then calling these two young lovers evil.
Their viscous cruelty to Blake was far more then what they would apply to most people, this had stemmed from them considering him a blind, arrogant fool who while was useful was in the end an obstacle for their love, and from this belief their hatred towards him grew like a bitter flower.
The teacher entered the classroom looking unusually serious aged features weighed down : I am afraid that Blake will not be coming to School for a while : Mira looked to Trace and mouthed “coward” both Trace and Mira grinned broadly until they heard the teacher next words “As his parents were killed, in a tragic accident.”
A few weeks past and Blake had not returned to school, curious one of the other students in the class, had asked the aged teacher when Blake would be coming back, the teacher pursed his lips and replied uncomfortably that “Blake will not be returning. Blake has dropped out of high school “Why?” the student asked
The teacher shrugged “Money troubles I think”
