Ch. 4 Expeditions and encounters

Fort Hill July 23rd, 2127

Noaw was working overtime, the engineers had recently upgraded the sensor ring at the base of the hill to help with general security. This was not a big concern, currently one of the Marines had been lost in a small expedition into the woods. Noaw was currently talking to the two other Marines to ask about what happened.

“So, you’re saying that while out in the woods, you saw two human-like figures.”, Noaw said.

“Exactly, now as we approached them one turned to look at us, said something intelligible, and suddenly they were gone along with Jimmy.”, One Marine responded, the other picked his tale up. “Right before the disappearance after the gibberish all we saw was this infinitely bright white light. When It fade off Jimmy was nowhere to be seen!”

“Right… Anyways, take a break in the barracks, you probably deserve it.”, Noaw said, skeptical of what the Marine had said, but it was proven that the invaders used magic during the Portal War.

Dawn Road, Drikunt 8th, 332

Deen woke up groggily, only to see Trea knocked out dark and another unidentified man who was in the same condition. What in the 5 abyssal planes happened? He looked back, he and Trea were making their way towards the Buring Hilocks when they encountered a three-person unit. Trea, as weak-willed as she was, thought they where one of the many bandit groups that resided in the forest. In her fear, she activated A teleport spell, teleporting everyone in a 20-meter radius around her to a preset point.

Stuck in thought, Deen did not realize that both other people had woken up, the unknown man scrambling away from the two. Pulling his blade, he was ready to cut the man down before Trea stopped him.

“Why don’t we interrogate him, because his weapon is far to advanced to be a normal bandit’s and his clothes is of the highest quality I have ever seen.”, Trea suggested.

“I see your point, but this man is a dan-”, Dee said getting cut off by the man’s inconsistent babbling.

“That is going to be a problem, but what if I were to...”, Trea mumbled to herself while grabbing a stick and the man. She brought both over to a semi-wet patch of dirt and drew some basic pictures. After that, she handed the stick to the man.
