Fort Hill July 22nd, 2127
It had been a long couple days for Noaw. Upon arrival The Marines set up a circular defensive line while Noaw was parked in the middle. The combat engineers set up simple packed dirt defenses around the crown of the hill and where currently in the process of building basic necessities. Such things as electricity and sanitation, one solved by a Mk. IV Ver. 1 Portable Fusion Reactor, and the other by digging a hole in the ground.
Currently the Marines were setting up a circle of basic motion sensor/camera hybrids around the base of the hill as an early warning system. Occasionally large rodent-like creature ran by a camera or two, the nerdier humans of the group dubbed them goblins. Other monsters occasionally passed by and were dispatched immediately, although the oversized snake was cool. No major enemies have appeared yet, but one could only prepare for the worst.

Deen was an explorer, he had dull brown eyes, sharp ears, and jet-black hair. He owned leather armor and a large, flat broadsword. A belt was fit around his waist with notches to hook several spherical glass bottles, however it was empty currently. He stood in front a quest board starring at a peculiar quest. ‘Inspect noises and flashing lights a Buring Hilocks: Rank 3’ it read. Compared to the rest of the quests, which where random extermination quests, this one stood out. Taking the paper, he walked to a desk, “Excuse me, if I may ask where this quest came from?”

“Well one of the outer farmers reports a white flash followed by a cracking sound, at first we thought he was crazy until other farmers said the same.”, the man at the desk responded.
“Sounds interesting, I’ll take it.”, Deen said.
“Are You sure? This is a rank 3 quest, and I don’t believe the forest is very forgiving.”, The man said.
“I’ll be teaming with a mage friend I know.”, Deen spoke.
“Why didn’t you say that first! Your more then cleared to go on the trip then!”, The man said cheerfully. Deen took the paper and walked away annoyed.
