And that was where I saw him, Hein Battleborn!
He was waiting in the line to register for the Tournament. It seems I must do something. I told Krog follow behind me, and walked up to Hein.
“You seem to be a lone participant. Would you mind coming over here for a second?”
“Hmm, sure!”
“Okay, I’ll be frank. Would you be willing to join my group for the tournament? Only the group matched if you don’t want to be dragged down by us during the single duels.”
“I don’t like the way you just randomly asked a stranger to join your team.”
“Well, you see, my team has a tanker and a magician, but my damage dealer has fallen unconscious due to some circumstances. And you were the only one who had a large sword, good build, and seemed to be alone. The rest of the people are mostly already in a team.” I said as I pointed to Shem.
“Hmm, okay. But if you think about double-crossing me, I will kill you!”
“Haha, then it’s a deal! Let’s go sign up! By the way, I’m Jon, and this here is Krog. The one he is carrying is Shem, a newly appointed merchant, and you are?”
“Hein.”
As expected, even though this is almost a hundred years ago, Hein is still the same, cold-blooded and cold. But that personality doesn’t suit a seven/ eight year old kid. It suited him much more in the game, when he was a hundred year old monster, who had long white hair, a body full of scars, and a most manly of faces, while dealing incredible dps with each swing of his great sword!
…
After signing up, we were told that the tournament would occur within 2 day’s time. This means that Hein, Krog and I have the whole day tomorrow to fix our fighting strategy and improve on our skills as a team and individually. But before we get to that point:
“Hein, do you have identification proof with you?” I began the topic of warning him without exposing the truth of me knowing the future.
“No why?”
“Then get moving! If they find you without either a city pass, or identity proof, you will be either killed, or sold to slavery!”
Hearing the words slavery, Hein flinched for a second, but regained his cold look. Ah, now I remember, his father was killed, and his mother was sold off to slavery when they were attacked by a group of thugs on their way home from the capital. He was 4 years old back then and couldn’t do anything. He had to survive on his own, off the food on the streets, through the harsh winters and unrelenting summers. But one day, he met a man named Kaisen; a master swordsman. He taught Hein for a month, while he was off duty, and Hein honed those simple skills taught to him to the point of perfection for 2 years after Kaisen had to return. Now he has come to the capital, to perform in the king’s tournament, and spread his name, so that he can find his mother, or his teacher.

“Come over here, I want to tell you a story.” I said as I walked away from Krog and Shem.
“I once saved a fellow from slavery back in Taberna. Do you know how he got there? What happened was…” I retold his own story to Hein
“Hah, how dare they! They wanted to trick me?! Never! So, Jon my friend, what should I do?”
Haha, success. I not only saved him from a life of suffering, but also gained more of his trust. Hehe, I got promoted from Jon to Jon my friend!
“I think you should register yourself with the guild. Maybe we can even form a long-term party for adventuring!”
“That sounds good! What about you Krog?”
“I’m in if Jon is in!” He stated proudly
“Alright, then let’s go register under the same name as the one we will be using for the tournament!”
…
We were finally done after completing all the necessary work, we walked straight to the place Ainz recommended. Along the way, I told the story about the trouble we got into back at Taberna, and how it followed us to Auexit. I also told him about Ainz’s plan to enslave us at the entrance itself, and how Krog and I were going to hi recommendation only to see what he had in store for us. Hearing that we hadn’t found a place to stay yet, Hein decided to follow us and stay at the same place.
“Here we are, the Sunshine inn”
“What a terrible name!” stated Hein bluntly
“Haha, you must be Jo- I mean a customer! Please come in!” said the man at the door.
I knew it! He knew that I would be coming to this inn. He was waiting outside from the thought that I might not turn up. That Ainz definitely has a hand in this, and most likely even in the last incident. I suspect that he is a man of the f*cking lord, I mean city lord.
We entered the inn, and told Hein to come to my room when everyone else has gone to sleep. And when he finally, came, I told him my masterplan to lure out the ones behind this, if they are somewhere in the city.
…
“Hahahahaha, I can’t wait for tomorrow!” exclaimed both Krog and Hein simultaneously.

Meanwhile at the college…
“Hmm…”
“What is it?”
“She just sent a message through the communicator at the capital”
“And?”
“It seems that the boy is growing at a horrifying pace!”
“What, even more than before?”
“Yes, it seems her used his original fireball spell again.”
“What is so terrifying in that”
“Well, that spell is comparable to a level 2 spell that has been supercharged! But he used 50 of them at once, and killed off 45 goblins with than one attack. It also seems that he was casting some sort of detection spell and another spell on the wheels of the carriages. None of these spells were categorised… They were all unique, and overflowing with wastage of mana!”
“That means his mana has more than doubled since he started the journey! Sylvia, what king of monster did you raise?”
“That my boy!”
As it turns out, the three shadows discussing quietly in college were none other than Sylvia, and two other elves.
“It also seems he was doing some pretty weird spell casting. She has informed us that while they were on the move, the boy would waste a lot of mana on restoring stamina to everyone, and then he would cast a spell that blocks all external mana from being used by anyone!”
“Hmm, that seems like quite the spell huh? Something Like a spell form of a magic lock?”
“No, she could still cast spells, but their efficiency was halved, and the strain on her own mana increased 5 times, since there was no support of external mana.”
“Hmmm”
“Hmm”
“It’s fine, just tell her to make sure that Jon, Krog and Shem are safe”
“Oh yes, she also reported sensing a higher being in the carriage”
“What, has Jon already gotten a blessing?”
“No, she says it was inside the girl.”
“The girls?”
“Yes the girl. I think there is only one, unless Jon is also a girl?”
“No! So Shem has received a blessing as well huh? Before any of us as well. It seems like the young ones will overtake us soon…”
