In the night when the stars called out to the moon, beckoning for it to come out and shine as radiant as the sun, in the plains lied a red-haired boy that stared endlessly with his mature gaze.
He could see the difference in which this world was compared to the last world that he had been to, and the difference was great, but there were many similarities as well. Likewise to him, as long as the sun shined, and the moon glowed, it was the same thing in his eyes.
It had already been more than 8 years that he still remembers the past of what had occured. He could see it as clear as day, and that haunted him.
The names of people he had seen, the many ventures that he had been on for a promise of pride and protection. Enduring the most, wasn't easy, even if it meant bieng paid little by putting your life on the line.
However once realizing it, everything was for nothing, because the one thing he had promised to protect, ended up as a sacfrificial lamb that had protected him from certain death. He would have never wanted that, however, but as it may have been, there was no stopping a force that had evolved ten times stronger than what he could go up against. It was absolute madness.
It made him clench his teeth at the thought of remembering his old past time, and as he was lying on the grass, watching the night sky, staring at the many stars, this universe shifted
In the world he lived in, the sky was always clouded by the burning briskwood that the corroded had used to create a panic and cause distruction to the many villages and cities. It was so much chaos that there was no knowing weather or not it was day or night except if you lived in a certain place.
If anything, the one thing he wanted to forget most, was his cowardice.
While thinking though, without noticing a figure had risen up from behind him, without making a single noise, creeping up quietly and subtly.
Slowly closing in on the red-haired boy, she immediately put her hands on his head and patted it from the sides while he layed there without flinching.
"Leo, Mother had already served food to the others, and she told me to get you" This particular figure was a girl. A beautiful one at that as well.
Her hair was a golden orange hue, which was a specialty upon this unique world.
Leo, which was the red-haired boy, was still not used to his name. Although he had been with that name for a good few years, it does not outweigh a lifetime of bieng called a different name in a different world.
He held onto some memories, but sometimes the old ways have not yet vanished for him.
He sighed. For he didn't really speak to anyone, and the real reason why was because he refused to allow affection to grow towards most people in this world. It was a burden more than a given. From his past experiences, that is what he seems to think about it in a general sense.
Calmly and coolly, he sighed. For the girl, she completely understood just what his actions meant. He could not hide his intentions around this girl because she could read him like she reads picture books with a masters degree.
It was slightly odd for him, but he allowed her to keep an eye on him, mainly because without her, he wouldn't be alive.
'Sasha huh' As if remembering it as a trivial factor, he heard her name various times. Her name was Sasha.
Leo had gotten up from the grass he had been laying with, moving the girl's hands away from his head. Along with him, she had pulled away to give him space to get up.
With a small turn and few steps, she turned her head around to look back at him and smiled.
"lets go then?" She said smirkingly.
Expressionless, he nodded and walked after her, while still lookiing up at the sky as they had left so.
While walking though, Sasha had started to ask Leo questions, wondering about the many things that they ususally spoke about, but since Leo never really talked in general, she would read his body language in order to understand him easily.
So she went ahead and asked him a very familiar question.
"So, when you leave this place, where do you think you want to go?"
While staring ahead and back to him simultaneously.
With a but of a sigh, he pulled his hands up and looked at them.
"ah, so you're not sure, but you want to study the waves?" As easy as it was to her, for anyone to even try to talk to him was almost impossible, unless you have caught his interest.
'Waves...' He thought.
When he recalled first taking a snoop around the church, he had heard that the priest of the church was someone who had used to be a Wave Master, or maybe still is.
What he had never heard though, was the term "Wave", and that is what peaked his curiosity at most.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
However, upon learning what waves really were, it seemed no different to him than magic, but the operation and the different techniques to pull it off were more denser and had a bit of a different outcome. Unlike magic where manipulation and operation to controll the energy comes in. Waves on the contrary use vibration to exhibit a force that is unparralelled to any specific other element.
say for example, a flame wave is a wave that uses heat, vibration and light cohersively to create heat energy in response to the amount of mana control that lies inside the core of said person exhibiting its use. if some wanted to use dark wave energy however, it would be completely different. But it usually relies in the afinity of the core of the person.
And there are many different asorted wave users that have an abundance of potential, but there have only been a select few to have ever been called "Wave Masters", which are those that excel in an advanced function of using waves.
When Leo had tried to use his first wave, it had completely knocked him out, because the vibration he was casting out was too much of a high frequency. When he had tried i the second time again after failure, he had felt like he was sucker punched because the density of the wave was too much.
So that bieng said, having the ability to even control waves was already the first step towards becoming a master.
But, there was also another thing that Leo had wanted to try out. And It was absolutely game breaking compared to what he had ever thought about.
Once reaching close to the church, Sasha had walked in first, so as to suprise the kids that had been eating. Loud and some obnoxious, as she went in and he followed a wide array of children jumped out of their seats, completely ignoring Leo as he followed right after her.
With glowing eyes the children stared and frivously at Sasha, and surrounded her with questions about where she had gone or if she had brought something for them, but calming them down Sasha smiled warmly and laughed.
"Haha, I just went to go grab this troublemaker here! Sorry!" she smiled apologetically towards the children as she knelt down to them eye to eye.
"But, next time I go out, I will bring you something from the villages okay?" She smiled.
The children had smiled back at her, laughing and returning to play around the lobby, while Sasha and Leo head towards the cafeteria.
Sasha was more like an older sister to many of the children, however she mostly gave her attention to Leo because of her having been raised along with him, it was like they were brothers. However, Leo on the otherhand just saw her as a very kind person, not a brother or a sister, but a person in the same world in the same cloth as he was.
Although Leo's point of view was like this, he couldn't help but still have at least some sort of affection for Sasha as well.
Many of the children were younger than Leo, but a small amount were around their teens, and Leo was only 8 years old at the time, as Sasha was only 4 years older than him. But the teens never really stood around the church for much, they only stood closer to the cottage houses that were closer to the woods.
Yet only a few decided to visit from time to time, most would decide to leave. This was all decided by the owner though, which so happens to be a wave master of expertise himself.
Once both sasha had gotten to the cafeteria though, Sasha had gestured Leo to sit and wait for her at one of the wooden round tables, while she get the food.
In the meantime, Leo had thought about focusing on himself.
Before coming to this world, Leo had learned a lot in his experience on combat and magic. Learned both of these quite evenly and was balanced with military insight about how to use his abilities and capabilities. Although, when in battle though, the fight was different from actually learning.
From the many battles hard fought and won, he learned that the majority of learning how to fight came from real on site battles than reading or watching, mock battles could also be of help, but with that said, then this would all be too good for a follow up.
With many months of study with his previous years, he had developed a very peculiar technique. more than that of the first few moments of when he had discovered that the owner was such a wave master and a good one at that he would figure out a way to get into his room and steal books from his study, but as he took them, he also had put them back before any damage was done.
Now, onto the idea of a wave.
A wave is a pull or push of energy within the use of vibrational power. The stronger the vibration, the stronger the ability to push or to pull waves. It may be difficult but once someone is capable of reading waves and manipulaing them, he can add more to the wave allowing it to enforce its ability with elemental structure.
There are many forms of waves, but mainly since Leo had prior knowledge of his magic, he had attempted to tap into the old soul that he had still harboured when he had the chance to without anyone looking.
Once he had, he was able to bring a foreign power to a world that was constructed on a completely different scale of power.
This had a small aspect, but he could build it into his waves as he didn't have much affinity with waves, he thought about a mediator, and that was it.
"Well, dinner is served" Abruptly, taking Leo out of his own world, Sasha had each a separate plate in each hand. Offering one to Leo, she settled her plate of food down and sat right by him.
And Leo without question, nodded in a thankful manner.
Still contemplating on Waves and such, he was hungry, the scent of food filled his nostrils, causing him to salivate.
=====================
The finished food filled Leo up, although it wasn't exactly good as a taste, the feeling of having eaten was a satsifactory one.
Both proceeded to take their finished plates to the kitchen without a word, settling it down onto a counter top. And as the time flew by, it was finally time for sleep.
Sasha liked how quiet Leo could be, she always thought that his lack of communication was for a specific reason but no matter what she wouldn't be able to figure it out at this rate.
Still, it seemed more interesting than ever.
While both were walking to the floorhouse beside the church, Sasha asked another one of her many questions.
"Why have you never spoken yet?" The voice of the girl resounded and echoed across the walls of the church upon leaving it.
But this question actually did hit Leo a bit. He wondered why, and the reason was always answered with the fact that he wanted not to allow any more people in his heart, for as he did allow it, there was always misfortune for him.
Yet, something inside him refused to think that negatively, he still had held onto his hopes that he would decide upon something soon.
Without an obsolete answer, he just walked without giving a direct response.
Sasha was watching him, waiting for a response, and yet as he didn't give her one, she could tell that Leo wasn't well quite sure himself. It was probably something to do with the rune on his head, but there was no telling how.
As they both walked closer to the door in silence pushing it further, inside the floorhouse there were two separate wing, the right was for girls, and the left wing was for the boys. While they both had to part here, the both looked at eachother with a smile, wishing a good nights sleep and then turning to their directed wings.
Sasha had entered in her room, and Leo in his.
However, for Leo, this was another many chances for him to practice using Waves, and he took his time with this before the sun was to rise again for the next day.
