Alexandris walked within the corridors of the mansion. While Collin tagged along with him. He was about to greet his cousin as he visited from time to time. Today, he was excited to introduce his new friend to Harriet. So, Alexandris insisted that he could tag along. Which Collin had dreaded since he never met the prince before.
As the door creaked open. The golden hue blinded Collin, the short well kept blond hair that the royal family had. Harriet had a warm smile and lunged towards Alexandris as he greeted his cousin.
"Lexi!! I'm so happy I can visit right now, the royal training is killing me!" The prince voice was hoarse, he smiled at Alexandris as he looked away.
"Geez… can you stop calling me Lexi… I'm too old for that." Alexandris lowered his voice. He felt embarrassed that his cousin clinged to him so much in front of Collin.
"Hmp, there's no age limit for nicknames you know." Harriet stood up, he helped Alexandris and dusted himself. His face became passive as he retorted to Alexandris.
"I know, but…" he lowered his voice again, fidgeting with his fingers.
Harriet looked around, he saw a brown-haired child with gentle gray eyes next to Alexandris. His face brightened up as he realized what was going on. "So, Lexi made a new friend? And you're embarrassed that your loving cousin will embarass you?"
"Ah- Harriet!" Alexandris widened his eyes. He hurriedly looked to Collin who had no reaction to the prince's teasing.
"Oh, not bad." Harriet grinned. He held his hand up and greeted the boy. "My name's Harriet Silvester Soren, and you are?"
His gray eyes flared up, he lowered his body and bowed to the prince. He traced his hands on his chest as the gesture of respect in the Soren Kingdom. He uttered with respect on his voice, "I am aware of your identity, Prince Harriet, your eminence. I am a lowly servant of the Rhoeia family. I am Collin."
The prince smiled and acknowledge Collin's introduction. Then he said, "No need for further honorifics, as Lexi's friend, you'll be my equal."
"My lord! I can't possibly be equal to you." Collin protested. Alexandris grabbed Collin and lifted him up. His muscle tensed with surpise as he urged him to lift him down.
"Do not insist that in him… believe me, I tried" Alexandris grunted as he led Collin opposite to Harriet.
The prince beamed at the pair and shook Collin's hand passed Alexandris's defense. "Nice to meet you, Sir Collin."
"S-sir?" Collin stumbled his words as he heard the prince address him that way.
In Soren kingdom, the title Sir was bestowed upon hallowed knights whom succeed in battle. This title was granted by the king or queen of the kingdom but in recent years, any member of the main royal family could give this title to anyone else.
"H-Harriet, are you sure you're going to give that title to him? I'm sure he did not succeed in a battle or anything." Alexandris was worried about Harriet. Giving the title was no laughing matter, yet he treated like it was one.
Harriet pressed his thumb on his finger. His body was enveloped by a golden radiant energy, shifting into a golden symbols that swirled around the prince.
He led his hand on his forehead. Down to his chest, right to his shoulder and left to his other shoulder. He raised his hand and said the oath. "I, the prince of Soren Kingdom, hereby bestow you the hallowed title of Sir. In your solemn duty to protect the kingdom for its benefit to thrive and may the goddess Qunas guide us."
A golden circle drew under Harriet and Collin. The light shone on his shocked face as he looked at the prince with glimmer in his eyes. Alexandris watched in disbelief as his mouth gape with shock.
"Princess Diane will kill you " Alexandris whispered.
Harriet laughed loudly ignoring Alexandris as he tapped Collin's shoulder. "Now that you have a title, you should at least be elevated enough to not call me various titles when greeting me. Treat me as slightly above equal, if that pique your fancy."
The blond boy walked within the halways, in his way to the garden. He bumped into Hazel as she led the third born Alana, to the library. "Oh Hazie, long time no see. You're beautiful as always." Harriet held his hand to Hazel.
"You flatter me, and besides still sticking with the nicknames? Heh, you haven't changed Harriet." Hazel shook Harriet's soft hands as she smiled passively. Harriet also smiled at the little girl that clasped Hazel's hand.
"Who is this little one?"
"Ah, this is our sister, Alana. She was a child of a concubine, though she is a really sweet child." Hazel cupped the girl's cheeks as her face became pink like peaches.
Harriet ruffled the girl's slightly blond hair before turning to Hazel. "It is really good to see you."
"Same sentiment with me. Also, did you see Alexandris's new friend already?" Hazel replied.
"Ah, Sir Collin. Yes, indeed I have. I like the little lad, polite as he is." Harriet rambled as his hands flailed in the air. The lady nodded as she agreed how polite Collin was.

Then she titled her head… did he just called him… 'Sir?'
Her lips curled into a smile then giggled. "Diane will kill you if she get a whiff of your title giving spree again." she said as she covered her mouth.
"You said the same thing!"
"Did I? Ahaha, we came from the same pod, impressive right?" Hazel was amused. The little girl hid behind her.
"Hazel!!"
Alexandris caught up to Harriet. Collin was behind him, still experiencing shock from the recent title he got from the prince.
That title alone would elevate their entire family from commoner to an esteemed family. He couldn't believe it.
"huff… hufff… What are you doing here with Alana?" Alexandris asked Hazel as he tried to catch his breath.
"It was time for her classes, we still have alot to discuss. How about you three should spend your time in the garden. I'll catch up later."
"Alright." Hazel and Alana waved goodbye from the three of them as they continued their way to the mansion garden.
The Duke looked at the three and rolled his eyes. He withdrew from the shadows and vanished.
In the garden, the three of them sat down. The birds chattered as the butterfly fluttered in the gentle sunlight.
The gentle aroma of poppy tea wafted onto Collin's nose. This tea was unfamiliar to him, it was different than what Alexandris used to drink.
"Poppies?" Alexandris said in a questionable tone. "Isn't this a god sign?" naturally, god sign's were not allowed to be consumed by children who did not get their rite of passage yet, which was the time when they reached the age of sixteen.
Due to the potent toxins of said god signs, the royal magistrate had outlawed the consumption of these substances under the age of sixteen.
While Harriet is an exemption to this outlaw as he was the prince of the nation. Though, poppy tea was considered a lower grade god sign as the hallucinogenic properties of this tea barely made anyone see apparitions.
Alexandris swirled the cup, the dark yellow liquid goes along with the motion of the cup. Dark residue sank on the bottom as the yellow liquid became golden. "Hm, I thought poppy tea would make a clear tea. I was wrong."
"Interesting, right? Go on, take a sip. The effects of this tea calms your nerves down."
Pwhfff!
He blew on the hot steam of the tea. He took a sip and he was greeted by the initial bitter flavor of the tea. Then it was immediately followed by the floral aroma of the flower. It was an interesting flavor, Alexandris noted that.
Afterwards, he felt his muscle relax. His mind became groggy as the feeling of euphoria filled his mind.
This is… bliss
He stared Harriet with his blue eyes, then he asked. "Am I really allowed to drink this tea? I may be too young for this."
The bad influence as he was, the prince just deflected it. "Don't worry, eight is old enough to drink this tea. Under my power anyway." He laughed loudly as they continued to eat sweets and drink tea.
Collin was quiet during the whole tea session. Harriet still placed him in an awkward position. He silently drank his tea, slightly nudging his lips to do a smile that came out awkward.
"So, Sir Collin. Do you like the tea I brought from Lucern?" Harriet savored the aroma of the tea, his face was filled with satisfaction.
Collin nodded. His voice would not come out due to how nervous he was.
Harriet nodded back, it seems that he knew how big his presence was even if he elevated the status of the boy. He began to ramble about his life in the royal capital.
"The royal training is killing me, I don't know how my sister managed to pass that." Harriet was annoyed by the fact. He crumbled the cookies on his mouth, the sweetness melted onto his tongue.
"Furthermore, I can't even punish a thief with my power. I feel bad for him." It all came it a garble, because his mouth was stuffed with crumbs of cookies. When staying at Rosea duchy, he often ate like a barbarian. Disregarding the manners he was forced to learn in the royal palace. In this way, he had his own form of freedom.
A few hours had passed and the prince departed from the mansion. Alexandris waved goodbye. The carriage clopped downhill.
Collin stood beside Alexandris, witnessing the departure of the prince. This visit had gave him a new image of the prince. He was more human than he initially thought, the rumors about him was shattered in his eyes.
As he was about to follow Alexandris. The young lord uttered: "Collin, please don't follow me today. I have things to tend to."
Alexandris's face was dark, he dismissed Collin and began to walk alone down the corridor. The duke had called him again. For his training.
