It's an adventure in and of itself to have the world to yourself, in this case the house.
Especially to a young mind like Viga was, who had just begun to have the dream. He remembered how it all started and what he did right away when he had calmed himself.
There was enough to do within the house because he was not yet ready to venture outside. So he felt it would be much safer for him to try to figure things out in the comfort of his own home. He then realize afterwards that his decision was correct.
The first thing he did was construct a fort out of cushions, blankets, and some cardboard boxes that were lying around the home. He reasoned that since he was all alone, he should build his own headquarters so that, in the event that anything happened, he could better protect himself.
Because he intended to fortify the base over time, he merely erected it as a temporary solution. He also carried a plastic sword at his back and two toy pistols at his waist. Without his weapons, how can he defend himself? Although he knows some rudimentary martial arts due to her mother's insistence that as the oldest, he had to learn how to protect her sisters and himself.
However, possessing a weapon is far preferable to using his small fist. The toy sword was at best fragile due to the materials used in its construction, and even though the toy pistols can only create a firecracker sound when you pull the trigger, it was designed to look like a genuine revolver and used ring cap firecrackers as bullets to make the sound. Despite the fact that the toy sword was not meant to be used to harm someone, having them made him feel much more courageous.
He spends most of his time in this bizarre world playing and exploring, with a strong emphasis on the latter. He also progressively builds his fort. But when the going became tough, he occasionally used the valuable time in the bizarre world to review and study for his schoolwork. He was a twelve-year-old student in high school. In this country, elementary school begins at age six or seven and lasts up to six years, followed by high school for four years and then college for four to five years. High school begins when you are twelve or thirteen years old.
Even though Viga dislikes studying, he must if he is not to get beaten in the a$$ by his mother. His grades were passable even when he doesn't want to study, but the prospect of being beaten encourages him to obtain a far higher mark than passable.
But most of the time he spent playing and exploring when he was in this bizzare world, as was indicated earlier. Naturally, as a twelve-year-old who spends the majority of his day in school, he only has a small amount of time to play.
But now that he's been given a lot of time to do anything he wants, even if he's all alone, that won't stop him from playing. But what he truly does is train; he simply doesn't recognize it yet.
Like jogging all by himself inside the house so that the next time he played tag with his buddies or simply saw who could run the fastest, he wouldn't always be the first to be tagged or the slowest guy in the group.
A considerable portion of his time in this world was spent exploring, because exploring the house made him realize that there was so much more to uncover. Like some of the things he missed in the real world that were plainly present but that he simply chose not to pay attention to, had undergone some strange changes.
Some of the modest objects that were obviously merely for decoration in the house became more conspicuous in the odd world; they stick out amid any other things around the house. For instance, Viga didn't give much thought to the picture frame his mother inherited from her late grandmother because the last time he saw it, it was dirty and appeared to be about to fall off. However, in this world, the frame sparkles as if it were brand new and has a sense of having been around for a very long time, which contradicts the idea that it is brand new.
In contrast, several of the brand-new goods were hazy, and others even appear to be fading away. And those household goods that had been there for a lot longer than his mother's picture frame appeared to be typical and unchanging or simply old and in disrepair.
Viga had no idea why these things were happening; his young mind couldn't understand this difficult stuff. All he knew was that this world was a lot of fun and needed to be explored.
He began inspecting a few items about the house in an effort to understand why things are the way they are. He first began with his possessions. Few of his books, like the ones he used for school, are brand new, but the majority of them were given to him as a hand-me-down or were purchased at a discounted price when the books were brand new by some of his friendly neighbors.
The hand-me-down books have more substance than the brand new books he has, and some of them even have a glow to them. However, not every brand new book is faded or hazy; there was some that is more substantial than some of the passed-down books he has. He didn't understand why.
Additionally, the stuff around the house and the many possessions he possesses exhibit this phenomenon.
Then, in order to ensure that he had something to eat or that he could even do so if he were hungry, he checks the goods in the refrigerator. While part of the food looks rotten even though, as per what he recalls, his mother had just purchased those foods that morning, he was puzzled as to why it was bad. On the other hand, there was some food that appears to have recently been purchased even though it has been stored in the fridge for more than a month.
Then he checks the cupboards; most of the canned goods and boxed food are rotten, but those specialty-bought foods are like freshly cooked or newly prepared. He tried tasting one of those foods that is not rotten, and it tasted delicious, so delicious in fact that he immediately devoured the piece that he took. Aside from what it tasted, his body felt light after eating those foods. He ate a couple more, but after he ate nearly half of what was in the fridge, he felt so full, not full by filling his stomach, but much more on his over all body, that even if he tried eating more, he felt instinctively that he cannot take another bite.
Later, when he came back to the real world, he tried checking the things that he saw in the bizarre world; the picture frame still looked as old as the last time he saw it. He took it for inspection, trying to see the difference from the bizarre world, but he couldn't figure out what the difference was. He tried so hard to think what it was, but he couldn't figure it out; it was like feelings that he couldn't put into words. He knows that there is something different; he just doesn't know yet what it is.
After checking the picture frame, he then checked the food in the refrigerator and the cupboard, and what a surprise! All the rotten food in the bizarre world was still there, but not rotten; even the food that he just ate was still there, untouched. He tried tasting them again, and they still tasted as good as the last time he ate them—not in the bizarre world, but here in the real world, but the difference was that there was no feeling of being light after he ate it. He just felt that it was relieving his hunger.
He ran around the house to recheck all the things he saw in the bizarre world, trying to compare them. There are some things that are different, and he can't figure out what they are. The food in the real world only filled his stomach and did not make his whole body feel light. Some of the things are breaking down even though they are brand new. Some are fading. He is so confused about what it is that it is hurting his brain. He will try and slowly figure it out the next time; for now, he needs to do some more exploring and researching.
Leaving some of the things for later, he tried the things that couldn't be done in the real world, like looking at some of the forbidden magazines that were hidden in his parents room. He was going to only look at it out of curiosity. The more his parents tried to hide it, the more he wants to look at it, and this is the best chance to do so.
His curiosity started one time when he was in his parents bedroom and saw this magazine lying beside the nightstand. When he was about to open it to look what was inside, his mother came inside the room and yelled at him not to open the magazine. Since that day, his curiosity has been lit aflame, and now he needs to see what was inside those magazines.
He went to his parents room and searched all around the room for those forbidden magazines. He searched for a long time only to find those magazines above the closet; he doesn’t know why these picture magazines were forbidden for him to look at.
He sat on the floor while holding the forbidden magazine, preparing himself for what was to come. His curiosity lit up once more when he saw the magazine. The magazine has substance, but not like the previous items he found in the house, which are fading, breaking down, or just like brand new as a whole.
But he felt that the magazine was different on another level; why? He saw a blurry image on the front cover of the magazine; even the text was gone. When he opened the first page, it was blank, just like the cover page! He flips and flips the pages, but most of them are blank! and the rest are blurry images that he can't figure out what they are! There are some dark stains on some of the pages, but that is all there is! What sort of forbidden magazine was this? This was so not worth his time! He spent a lot of effort and time just to find this forbidden magazine, but seeing its blank pages and blurry images was not worth it. He was so dissatisfied that he threw the magazines to the ground. He was better off building his fort than wasting his time on all this.
At least he realized that some things could be substantial on the outside, but had little to show on the inside.
He looked around his parents room and decided that he would explore this bedroom last. From that day on, he started eagerly playing, preparing for the next game with his friends in the real world, studying sometimes, and exploring inside the house till the time he decided to venture outside. It took him a year, real world time, to finish exploring and trying to understand how the items work around here in this bizarre world. There was still a lot to learn.
Most of the things he discovered still left him dumbfounded. He still can't explain the how and why of most of the things around here. But some of the things he was sure of were that the time in this bizarre world is much faster than the time outside; how much the difference is, he doesn't know; he tried measuring it, but the result was always different.
The time he spent preparing for the next game with his friends in this strange world had no obvious effect on his body strength or mass: even though all of the eating and playing he did did not even gain him a pound or some muscles in the real world, but he did notice that he could react much faster than before in the real world, as if he had already rehearsed what to do. Of course rehearsed, because he had already performed some of the actions many times while practicing in the bizarre world.
The same can also be said when he studies or prepares his assignment. Even though none of what he did in the bizarre world would magically appear in his notebook or workbook in the real world, he can redo it again with ease in the real world, not at first; at first, he started having a hard time trying to remember what he did; as time passed, it became easier and easier, not because he has a talent for remembering things, but much like he started having a talent for remembering things since he started studying in the bizarre world.
These remarkable advancements and discoveries didn't occur all at once; rather, they were made gradually over the course of the previous year. After he had done looking around the house and learning as much as he could about some of the things.
The time has come to venture outside!
