“AHHHCCHHOOO!!!” Cory sneezed. He was currently in a warehouse, that served as the base of operations for his gang, the Urban Devils. Everyone in the room looked at him nervously, their hands clutching various guns. Due to Cory’s actions the previous day, gang leadership decided to have a meeting about him. Cory had expected as much. He stayed up the entirety of the previous night, trying to come up with an excuse for his actions. He was sleepy and annoyed.
Cory sat at the center of the old warehouse. Around him were 60 members of the Urban Devils. Up above them, on a platform behind railing sat three leaders of the gang. The gang was relatively small, and had around 238 members spread throughout metro Atlanta.
“You really screwed up, you know that?” the large man in the center of the three said. Cory just looked at them dismissively. “U.N.S.E.A is already in the city due to the explosion at PLAY RAY and you thought it was a good idea use your power to knock over a gas station while they are here?! You really are an idiot!” Cory sucked his teeth. He looked visibly annoyed now. “They are obviously looking for you. We kept you around even though supporting unsanctioned Stem activity is a terrorism charge. You did your job for a while, took out enemies, helped expand our territory. And now look at what you’ve done! They come looking for you, they find us!” Cory responded. “I’m not a rat!” The leader to the left responded “No, but they have ways of making you talk dumbass! So we’ve decided to get rid of you! Whether you are dead or alive, Stems are worth a lot of money! So it’s your choice, dead or alive?”
Cory did not like this. It was by his effort alone, that within six months the small gang whose numbers barely cracked 200 was able to gain major power! Cory had been involved nearly 3 years at this point. He saw them barely making profit and holding territory. Yet here they were talking about either selling him into super human slavery, or selling him for his organs? That did not sit well with him. It was in that moment he thought to himself “I’m the one with the power. Why am I listening to these guys?!” As he completed the thought, electricity began to surge within his machine like body, then surfaced on his skin. The third leader yelled “Shoot him, he’s about to try something!” Yet it was too late. At the speed of thought, he released it and the entire warehouse became like a giant plasma ball! Some of the Urban Devils had began firing at this point, yet the massive surge of electricity deflected the bullets in various directions, hitting unintended targets. Some died instantly. Those closest to Cory, 8 men total, were vaporized instantly, their ashes forming human shadows! Indeed the whole facility was reached, and all the men had been electrocuted! The lights had burst. Various electronic devices surged with power and became like bombs, doing even more damage! Screams of the men rung out in an agonizing chorus. And Cory loved every second of it. It was the first time he had ever released this much power! There were still groans of pain as some of the men clung to life. As Cory heard this, he spoke aloud. “You know, you’re right about U.N.S.E.A looking for me. I can’t let anyone who could leak info on me live right?” He began to walk about the fallen men, finishing off the survivors as he came across them. His body was tired from the surge of electricity he had released, so he did this using a handgun lifted from one of the fresh corpses. BLAMM! BLAMM! BLAMM! The shots rang one after the other.

Cory knew he was out of power for that day. He also knew someone likely witnessed the massive discharge. This meant that the police, and thus U.N.S.E.A would be called shortly thereafter. So he wasted no time, deciding he must be done and on his way in less than 5 minutes. He made his way up the stairs and saw on the platform one of the leaders trying desperately to crawl away. The other two seemed to have been taken out when there own cell phones and ear pieces surged and detonated, damaging various body parts. The man tried pitifully to escape, but it was to no avail. Cory walked menacingly over to the man, and put his foot on his back. “OOOOF!” The air left the dying mans lungs. Cory took aim and fired. Nothing came out. “Out of bullets huh?” He stepped off to the side, and kicked the man in the head. “CRUUUUNCH” was the sound his skull made. He groaned and twitched, still alive. Cory decided he could spare a little more power that day. He felt electricity surge through his body, his leg muscles snapped forward at blinding speed, creating a sonic boom! The impact hit the mans already deformed head, splattering it! Blood, bone, and brain matter splashed and scattered!
Cory was exhausted now! He had never used his power in such a way. His brain was stimulated now, and the anti-scholar recalled a memory from school. He remembered he had a nervous system and it’s signals ran on electricity. For the first time in his life, the dummy actually deduced something, his brain hyper stimulated by the electricity he produced. This is what the gang Lab Rats called "Stem Evolution" He also realized, he didn’t have enough energy to break into the safe that the gang leaders kept in this facility. At least not with U.N.S.E.A on the way. He would have to spend time searching the corpses for the keys to the door and safe. Even if he used this method, he wouldn't have enough time to grab the money and run away .So he strategized. "To be on the run I need money, and knocking over place after place will slow me down. I know just where to go though.” He walked along his path. By the time he was on a major street he heard sirens. He continued along his path, looking like a normal civilian as police and U.N.S.E.A vehicles drove past him. “Huh. Guess I really did make it hot out here.” Tomorrow was Monday, and Cory knew exactly where he was going to get his money to go on the run.
