Sophie and Lightning kept trading blows. A right hook from Lightning, blocked and followed up with a counter from Sophie.
Marethyu and Lilith watched, studying the fight. Analyzing how Sophie fought. Looking to see how Lightning could improve.
Lighting jumped back to give him some distance from Sophie. “Latavia, you do know how to fight.”
Sophie grinned, “So do you, Lightning. I have a feeling since you aren't using your powers, we are on equal footing.”
Lightning nods, then looks at Marethyu, shrugs and forms a sword of electricity. “I'll accept a disqualified loss, but I want to see how well you can dodge.” The sword was a two handed long sword with an elaborate design. The whole sword had a curve to it, from the hilt to the point of the blade. Even the crossguard had a S shape to it. Electricity danced throughout the whole weapon. “Wow,” Sophie said as she took in the weapon.
Marethyu narrows his eyes and stops Lilith from intervening by grabbing her arm. “But-.” Marethyu raises his hand to stop her protest. In a grave voice, a promise of harm in the undertone, “If you channel too much power or you actually endanger Latavia, I will intervene, Lightning. It will hurt, but you will live.”
Lightning nods grimly, knowing full well how much he is pushing Marethyu’s patience, “Understood, Master.” Lightning closes his eyes and visibly gathers himself. Opening his eyes, a smirk on his lips, “Latavia, have fun dodging.”

Sophie takes in Lightning as he runs at her. A vertical slash dodged with a side step. Sophie brought both of her hands down on Lightning's elbow. The sword flickers briefly before resuming its solid form. Lightning counters with a cross slash making Sophie jump back.
“Good,” Lychess praises Sophie. “Since he has the advantage of the long weapon, Latavia is making sure to get in close.”
Marethyu nods, “And it seems he has yet to master the fluidity of the element since the sword is still a long sword.”
This goes on for a little bit longer with Lightning trying to either cut or stab Sophie and keep her at a distance. Sophie is managing to slip past his defenses and attack his knees, elbows, chest and head, trying to disrupt Lightning's concentration. In a last ditch effort, Lightning attacks Sophie fully expecting her to slip under his guard but manages to change his sword to a pair of elegant daggers that are jagged in design. Lightning stabs Sophie in the left shoulder and the opposite side when her heel lands on his knee, breaking it. Both drop to the ground, Lightning's weapons disappearing since he lost his concentration.
Lilith jumps into the ring and immediately begins to look over the spasming Sophie. Marethyu looms over Lightning as he sets his own knee with a grimace and muffled grunt of pain. “One: that was a draw. Two: good job at changing weapons.” Marethyu looks over at Lilith and Sophie, who had stopped spasming but was still unconscious. “Three: Lilith let his knee heal naturally for a week, that's his punishment. Keep an eye on it, for we will still need him to be able to take future contracts.”
“Understood. Lychess, would you be a dear and help me get Latavia back to her room, please?”
Lychess changed into her wolf form and layed on the ground next to Lilith and Sophie. Marethyu and Lilith draped Sophie across Lychess’s back. Lilith wrapped Lightning's knee after bracing it between two rods. Marethyu hoisted him up and then all of them left the training room. “That was exciting. Latavia is a good fighter, Master,” Lightning said as they were leaving.
