Latavia blinks at the system window. “I thought I would be higher level by now.” Lightning cautiously approaches Latavia I the center of the courtyard. Lightning had killed the rest of the stragglers with his Black Flash ability. “What level are you?”
“15,” came the reply with a shrug. Lightning stumbled and barely caught himself. “Of course you're complaining about being level 15 your first day here. I had heard offworlders leveled faster than locals but I never believed it until now. I've had my Assassin class for about 18 months and my Sorcerer class for the last 6 months. Between the two classes, I'm now at level 15. And it's taken me two whole fucking years. Not a single fucking day.”

After Lightning got over his shock, he noticed Latavia was physically holding the cloak closed. “Taking a lance through the gut is not pleasant and it ain't easy on civilian clothes either. Before you ask, no I don't have any spare clothes. Everybody here is dead, so they won't need their clothes nor belongings anymore. Go pillaging.”
Latavia just looked at him, contemplating his words. “Take this,” Lightning holds out a small crystal to Latavia. “It's a map of the place. Just channel some mana into it. It can show your location and suggested routes to different areas on the map. I'm heading to the ķitchen. I burned a lot of energy today; join me there after you find a change of clothes.” Shrugging, she walked off; heading towards the castle doors. As she reentered, a wide smile stretched across Sophie’s face. She started to run down the hall, letting go of the cloak as she did, arms spread wide and an insane laugh left her. “I'm going to enjoy this new life! I can finally cut loose!!” An insane laugh that made Lightning shudder. Again.

After some time had passed, Sophie found Lightning eating in the kitchen. And he was not alone, there was a shadowy figure conversing with him. “- that's when I met the offworlder and found out she is an Affliction Specialist.” Lightning shook his head. “She already has a cheating death ability. Her first fucking day here! But yeah, she does good in a fight,” Lightning concludes before noticing Sophie's entrance to the kitchen. “Help yourself to the food. This shadow figure is a clone of Marethyu, I was just reporting in to h-.”
Darkness - again - then glowing orange light like something was on fire. Latavia then realized that something was on fire and that something was the castle her and Lightning were just in. Lightning was on his hands and knees coughing up blood. "Using his shadow teleport on anyone other than himself uses a lot of mana," the shadow form of Marethyu materialized. "Rest, Lightning. We are almost there."
“Bring forth your true light, a true heat that burns everything: Worldfire!" a woman calls out in an unsettling sing song style. "Hurry up, Marethyu!!!! Else you'll just find the ashes of your Lightning!!!” Something in the voice felt completely wrong to Sophie, she could feel eyes on her. “And I'll take a new play toy for myself when I am done with the boy.”
“Latavia, I know I don't have the power to ask this of you nor tell you to do something. Regardless of that though, you need to stall for time. Myself and Phoenix are on our way. Don't worry about any injuries you will undoubtedly acquire. Just survive the fight. Phoenix is the best healer I know,” having said his piece the shadow form of Marethyu faded into nothing.
Sophie was terrified, but as Latavia she just gritted her teeth, looking at the distant figure outlined by flames with grim determination. “Bring on the pain, bitch.”
