SS1 8.5 - Captured Hunters
By using electric catapult, I smoothly sent four units Dildo 101 to the air. It took a few minutes before the pack reached Orbiter 69’s location, and then loitered right below it. After that, I taught Ariel and Kara the procedure to eliminate a target.
First, Ariel searched, identified, and marked a target, and sent its location to Kara. Then, Kara would position Dildo 101 to loiter 100 meter behind it at altitude of 1500 meter above the ground, and made sight lock-on to its back. If she had multiple targets to serve, Kara would wait until each target had Dildo 101 ready for them before pressing engage button.
This was the first time these two kids working together as a pair of hunter-killer team, but they did it very good. As the result, right after Kara pressed the engage button, four units Dildo 101 simultaneously made nose dive to four Minotaur at four different locations, straight to their back.
Blaarr! Blaarr! Blaarr! Blaarr!!!
The Orbiter 69 beautifully recorded the last moment of each Minotaur. They perfectly became a full blooming firecracker. A second later, my tablet received notification. We got 40.000 mollar for four Minotaur kills. After a smile, I then turned my gaze to Ariel and Kara.
“That’s a nice teamwork and tactic,” I happily praised the two. “Until their last moment, the Minotaur didn’t realize the incoming package.”
“Mhm,” Ariel gave me a happy nod.
As for Kara, she gave me a huge smug face before asking, “What is the name of killing package we just used?”
“It’s Dild One-O-One.”
I couldn’t tell a kid that my former unit used a sex toy as a name for our beloved ordnance, so I modified it a bit.
“That’s a weird name,” Kara said while tilting her head.
“It is.”
I couldn’t agree more. The name had given me a lot of headache. Every time my XO made post engagement report where Dildo 101 was our main ordinance, he would deliberately wrote, ‘From midnight until morning, under the cover of darkness, one after another we silently dildoed everything that moved until they couldn’t move anymore. The result was very satisfying. We received no complain. Fuck yeah!’
My superior officer would then give me an in-person lash out after she received the report. She thought it was a roundabout way to harass her. She flatly rejected my explanation that the name and the way the report was written, had nothing to do with her or whoever the superior officer was. It was purely out of my men amusement to entertain their nerdy mind.
On the other side, my men would sulk like toddler if I changed the name or the way we wrote the report. In the end, the name stick and it took a considerable time before I got used to it. Now, once I got used to it, it felt weird when I tried to change it.
‘What a mess,’ I took a deep breath before putting back my attention to Ariel and Kara. “I will teach you how to launch Dild 101 to the air. After that you can continue your hunt, while I’m watching the perimeter.”
““Okay,”” Ariel and Kara replied at the same time.
With ease, Ariel and Kara mastered the procedure to launch Dildo 101. I also taught them how to hunt and neutralize a target using only Dildo 101. In this mode, they didn’t have target identification and recognition from Orbiter 101.

They have to use their own judgment using basic electro-optic sensor on Dildo 101, I told them to use this procedure only when they had no other choice. After that, I moved the electric catapult right next to Kara’s seat. This way, she didn’t need to get up from her seat every time she wanted to launch Dildo 101.
Then, I closed the lesson by asking, “Any question?”
“If we have loitering Dildo 101, but find no target to hit,” Kara said. “How do we retrieve it back?”
“We don’t,” I casually replied. “Once you put it in the air, you are not supposed to retrieve Dild 101 back. If you don’t find target for it, you detonate it in the air.”
Kara lightly nodded. “Okay.”
“Other question?”
After Ariel and Kara shook their head at the same time, I let them to carry out the hunt. I watched over them for a moment before taking lookout position on top of HMV.

I casually scanned our perimeter and found everything was clear. Then, I put my attention towards Ariel and Kara. The two sat next to each other before console control. In a glance, they looked like two kids who were happily doing their homework, where in reality they were executing small scale hunter-killer ops.
The two had done the work for two hours and the result was pretty good. So far they had killed 26 Minotaur, along with dozens of orc and goblin collateral kill. The Minotaur kill alone would get us 260.000 mollar. It was far higher than my target, but I would let Ariel and Kara to continue the hunt until Orbiter 69 reached final minute of its flight endurance.
Honestly, it gave me a weird feeling to see two kids effectively eliminated one monster after another. However, Ariel and Kara were children of war. They were born and raised in the middle of war for survival. Circumstance had forced them to join the war in their tender age, facing a huge number of opponents who saw them as source of food.
‘I will do my best. Finding a way to increase their chance to survive,’ I muttered before putting back my attention to perimeter around us.
Then, I heard Ariel said, “Berg, I think you have to watch this.”
“Okay.” Without delay I got down from HMV.
Ariel than showed me a big group of monster who were in the middle of celebration. Orbiter 69’s tally showed that this group had at least 4 Warg, 18 Minotaur, and around 300s orc and goblin. They were brandishing their weapon while making weird dance, circling a group of 14 hunters who weakly sat in the ground.
“Get a clear picture of the hunters,” I said.
“Okay.”
Ariel immediately displayed the zoom picture of captured hunters in the screen. Based on their clothes, I saw 9 male shooters, 2 male sword users, and 3 female sword user. Their hands were being tied together behind their back to prevent them from accessing their Inventory. They also suffered heavy injury, but I guessed they would survive if they had a chance to drink Healing Potion.
“Seven D-rank and five C-rank,” Kara woke me from my pondering. “Once the wargs know their location, they are as good as death.”
Ariel then turned her gaze to me. “Can we save them?”
“Where is their exact location?” I asked her back.
“16 km southwest of our position, right in the border between Sidra Forest and Kubran Valley.”
“I can’t say for sure. It will take some time for Dildo 101 to reach their position,” I said as I took out three Dildo 101 I loaded with tear gas mortar, and set its proximity fuse at 8 meter above the ground.
“We have 2 loitering Dild 101 above their location right now,” Kara said. “Can we use it?”
“At their current condition, I don’t think the hunters will survive mortar blast from close proximity.”
“What if we use it to create distraction?” Ariel asked. “Detonate it in a spot 50 meter from their location.”
“Such distraction won’t give the hunters much of help.”
“But, we have to do something at least,” Kara insisted.
“I agree,” I said as I send tear gas Dildo 101 to the air one by one. “Let’s hope some hunters will still be alive when tear gas Dild 101 reaches their position.
After that, we engage target opportunities that present itself, and hopefully the chaos will give the hunters a chance to escape.”
““Okay.””
I lightly smiled as Ariel and Kara gave me a firm reply. Without delay I then distributed the workload. Ariel would maintain the surveillance and recorded it. Kara would send HE Dildo 101 to the air as fast as she could. As for me, I prepared second electric catapult before helping Kara sending HE Dildo 101 to the air.
Honestly, like I said, I was not sure how many hunters would be still alive when we detonated the tear gas mortar. Even in a glance, I could tell the monsters were starving as hell and ready to start their feast at any second. However, I couldn’t just sit and do nothing. So, I tried my best to not think the worst case scenario.
