SS1 11.4 - Training

Bae In-nu happily taught Tulpar and the rest how to enjoy Korean BBQ, so I could enjoy my meal calmly. She was also really good at making conversation. As a naturally quiet person, I was grateful for having her as my second-in-command.

Actually, this situation was no different than my situation when I was with my platoon. Whenever we had gathering, my XO and my men would happily chat about nerd stuff, while I quietly ate my meal. It couldn’t help as whenever I tried to join the conversation, I felt like I was talking to alien.

In summary, the welcome dinner went as I had hoped for. Everyone ate heartily to the fullest. The only thing I didn’t see coming was that, wolforc was heavy eater of protein and fruit, but they were not drinker. Alcohol didn’t affect them. It was no different than bitter water for them.

And so, Bae In-nu drank almost all Yona Yona Ale on the table. As the result, just a moment before we finished the food, she already got wasted in the table, with big and happy smile in her face.

“Sir,” Tulpar suddenly said. “If you want to get drunk, we will make sure no one bother you.”

After a smile I said, “My faith allows me to drink, but it strictly prohibit alcohol overconsumption.”

“I see.”

After a moment of silence I said, “Even if we are not in middle of a hunt, we will still conduct night watch, from nine to six, three hours each. Let’s started from 3rd team tonight.”

“Aye Sir,” Tulpar firmly replied.

I then fixed my gaze on Bae In-nu. “Help me cleaning up the dining table. I have to take this drunkard to her room.”

“Aye Sir,”

“And you all can have free time until 9 pm. After that, anyone who doesn’t have urgent errand has to rest in their room.”

“I will ensure no one fooling around after 9 pm, Sir.”

“Good.”

Without delay, I put Bae In-nu in my shoulder. Then, as soon as I made firm contact with her soft and warm body, a desire to bang her suddenly popped up in my mind, and it soared to the sky in no time.

‘Damn it! This is really too hard to resist,’ I muttered as I started walking to Bae In-nu’s room.

Fortunately, with each step I managed to calm my heart down. A moment later, I already put Bae In-nu in her bed and covered it with her blanket. Then, I was about to turn around when Bae In-nu suddenly opened her eyes.

From the clarity in her clear eyes, I could tell she was faking her drank earlier. I was super glad that a moment ago, just before I put Bae In-nu in her bed, I canceled my intention to squeeze her perky butt.

After a smile Bae In-nu said, “As soon as you put me on your shoulder and brought me to my room on your own, I instantly had a thought you would bang me.”

“Honestly,” I casually said. “I don’t mind to bang you as long as you want it. Otherwise, I will hold my dick as best as I can.

And note that holding my dick back when you are around is hard as hell. I will appreciate it if you don’t try to test my lust tolerance.”

“I see.” After another smile Bae In-nu said, “Here is the deal. Hold your dick as best as you can, and if in the future I want someone to bang me, you will become the first person I call.”

“Okay,” I happily said. “And good night.”

“Good night.”

Without delay I left the room. I found Tulpar and the rest already finished cleaning up the dining table and gathered in the longue. I immediately went straight to them. Then, I introduced PlayStation and Pro Evo Soccer, and everyone including Ariel got hooked up by it right away.

---

Four days had passed since Tulpar and the other wolforcs arrived in the quarter. So far our training routine went very smoothly. We started the day by having breakfast at 06:00, and then hit the range from 07:00 to 08:00. Everyone already knew how to properly use firearm, so this session was more like individual training to polish basic marksmanship.

After that we had 8 km run, circling the range in two lines formation, wearing protection equipment, and holding MPX in our hands. We wore various BDU pant as usual, but coincidently we wore the same olive green T-shirt today. So, we didn’t look as ragtag as other days.

Then, we went straight to the gym. Our beloved gym had decent roof and paved floor but without wall. The equipment consisted only of pull up bar, sit up bench, simple weightlifting barbells, and jumping rope, but it was sufficient enough for us. We also had lots of exercise that can be done without equipment like push up, squat, and quick feet.

Most of all, I didn’t need to supervise our gym activities. Everyone had enough motivation to shape their physical fitness. After rehydrating our body, we carried out individual exercise without taking off our protection equipment.

Exactly at 12:00 – 13:00, we had lunch and short break. After that, it was squad training. Today, 2nd team would train in CQB quarter, while 3rd team would train to hit 300 meters target using Mk.19 and MGX from moving HMV.

As for 1st team, we would have close combat fight, and honestly I hated this training. In first day of our training, Bae In-nu and Tulpar asked me to learn swordplay and dagger fight. I agreed without realizing that the training would be a whole different universe than what I had in mind.

“Armored vest is good, arms protectors are good, and shin protectors are also good.” As usual, before the training Ariel would help me checking my protection equipment. “Berg you are good to go.”

“Okay.”

Without further ado, I took out a pair of black chromed tactical kodachi. Basically, it was a short and straight katana. It had 20 cm long hilt and 35 cm long blade. The blade was also a bit thicker and a bit wider compared to regular katana.

In a glance the tactical kodachi looked cool and I really wanted to learn how to use it. However, as soon as I put it in my hand, the weight instantly hit me. It weight 5 kg. Then, Bae In-nu showed me she could cleanly cut a thick rolled-straw mat into several pieces using one hand. This presentation instantly gave me an important clue. The training would be as hard as hell.

“Let’s go with warm up,” Ariel woke me from my reminiscent.

“Yeah.”

I immediately held the kodachi in reverse grip, one in the left and one in the right. Then, I lifted my hands in front of me as straight as possible before giving both my wrists weightlifting training. First, I moved it up and down in slow motion a hundred times, and then rotated it clockwise also a hundred times. Then, I repeated the up and down motion.

For 30 minutes I gave my wrists weightlifting training. After that, I had the slash and parry training, against Ariel and Toudor in turn. We did it in moderate speed and moderate power. Currently, my wrist and fingers would get hurt if we do the slash and parry in full power. In the first day of the training, I already experienced it.

At first, the kodachi just flew out of my hand when I tried to block Toudor’s full power slash. The tremor from the steel clash seeped right through into my finger, palms, and wrist. It was unbearably painful.

After receiving such tremor for several times in rapid succession, my right index finger finally gave up. Its bone suffered a hairline fracture, while my wrist was slightly dislocated. This lovely experience would give me a shiver every time I recalled it.

I suffered this injury because Bae In-nu and Tulpar wanted to know the limit of my grip, and they did it without my consent. Fortunately, we had Healing Potion to fix my injury right away. After that, they arranged training menu for me and asked Ariel and Toudor to become my instructors. And so, I would get stuck with this boring and tiring training for a while.

“Okay it’s enough for today,” Ariel said after we completed the one hour slash and parry training.

“Okay,” I said before checking my trembling hands. “This training is really though.

“Mhm,” Ariel said before wiping out the sweats in her forehead. “That’s why most shooter avoids it.”

After lightly nodded my head, I decided to bring out the thing that had bothered me for the last few days. “How long before my swordplay reach useful level?”

“If you faithfully train with us three times a week,” Toudor casually said. “It will take eight months before you have a chance to win a one-on-one swordfight against orc.”

“That long?”

Toudor gave me a light nod. “It can’t be help. We have to slowly conditioning your fingers, palm, and wrists, and it take times.”

“Honestly, this training is suck.”

Ariel’s expression suddenly became drop dead serious. “Berg, in certain scenario a good swordplay and dagger fight will save you. Major Bae and Tulpar want you to learn it because they want to increase your survival rate.”

After a smile I replied, “I know.”

I was grateful that Bae In-nu and Tulpar wanted to increase my chance of survival, but it didn’t change the fact that the training suck as hell. Unfortunately, I couldn’t refuse their good intention. I guessed embrace the freaking suck was my only option in this matter.

---

As usual, we closed our daily training with personal sharing. Basically, it was 15 minutes of meeting where one person sharing their combat experience. It could be any combat experience, including but not limited to tactical knowledge, life and death experience, regret, scar, dream, or even shameful things.

We used the gym for this meeting, and today it was my turn. After everyone gathered before me, I immediately started the meeting.

“Goal, objectives, and daily activities,” I said as I wrote those words in the whiteboard. “Define your goal in one sentence no more than eight words. If you can’t define it under eight words, you need to rethink your goal.

Then, break your goal into objectives, and break your objectives into daily activities. This way, you will have daily activities that will deliver the objectives, and objectives that will deliver the goal.”

“…”

I looked at everyone one by one before asking them, “Question?”

“Do we really have to define our goal in no less than eight words?” Bae In-nu curiously asked.

“Yeah,” I firmly replied. “The idea behind this rule is to make your goal as simple as possible.”

“I see,” Bae In-nu calmly said. “You want to avoid overcomplicated ops.”

“Exactly,” I said. “In a combat, overcomplicated ops can get you killed.”

“…”

“When I became support element in a black ops hunt and kill mission, I saw lot of simple, but persistent and repetitive daily activities have enabled far greater result compared to flashy and shiny action.”

Tulpar suddenly raised his hand. After I gave him a nod he asked, “Do we will use the similar hunting model, like the one use by hunter-killer folk from your country, Sir?”

“Sort of,” I calmly replied. “And tomorrow, we will carry out our first hunt.”

“Low-risk or high-risk?” Bae In-nu casually asked.

“Low-risk, but it will be 2-3 weeks long.”

“What is the goal?”

“Making money using drone training,” I calmly said. “I will give you the objectives and the daily activities for this goal tomorrow at breakfast. Then, we use the day for a good rest, and depart after dark.”

“In case you forget,” Bae In-nu said. “You have not given us drone training yet.”

“I will give you on-site training using live-target.”

“Well, just so you know,” Bae In-nu casually said. “So far, no hunting team can translate suicide drone into effective and efficient means to kill monster.”

“May I know the reason?” I curiously asked.

“Monster doesn’t roam in the opening and they can hear incoming drone from far away. They will be gone when the strike drone reaches their suppose target,” Bae In-nu calmly explained. “And, let’s say you manage to sneak kill a Minotaur using combo medium-altitude drone and laser-guided ordinance even though the bastard has night vision and can see laser, the money you get from this kill won’t enough to cover the cost.”

“Well, my drone system already scores a good amount of monster kill. I believe right now it is still effective enough,” I said before showing everyone some footage from my last hunt using Orbiter 69 and Dildo 101.

Bae In-nu then said, “Stealth surveillance, stealth approach, and stealth targeting. No wonder it works well.”

“Other question about the hunt?”

“No,” Bae In-nu firmly replied.

“In that case, that’s all from me,” I calmly closed the meeting. “Let’s enjoy our free time until dinner at 18:00.”

Without delay, everyone went to carry their personal errand, or just had idle chat before taking evening bath.
