I left the Adventurers guild after asking about an inn to stay before I had to travel to the academy.
[Blood, Gold and Silver Inn]
Well isn't that a welcoming sign. I walked into the inn that seemed to be made fully of wood, isn't this just a massive fire hazard waiting to happen? Then again, thick wood doesn't catch fire as easily. I walked into the inn, I was met with the boisterous atmosphere of an Inn.
A young woman was dancing around the wide room carrying and delivering everyone's orders.
There were groups of people equipped in armor discussing their next mission
Couples flirting, (annoying to watch)
Grown men drinking and laughing.
Everything just radiated life.
A mug flew directly towards my head, which of course I dodged but it went and struck the man directly behind me.
He slowly and dramatically turned to face me, I didn't even see who threw the mug but now I probably had to deal with this man behind me.
"Hey...Brat!"
He grabbed my shoulder, placing a lot of strength into his grip, it's weird since he is a higher level...shouldn't it hurt a lot more? I wonder what the distribution of stats is per increase in level.
"Listen, I didn't throw the mug..."
"I, only the weak like you can make such blatantly false excuses, I suppose as your superior, I should teach you a lesson"
Of course, he wouldn't listen
"IT'S A FIGHT!"
Someone shouted and people started to stare at us.
He quickly swung his fist, I ducked underneath it and with a rotation of my body, I swung my fist and felt my knuckles sink into where his lungs were located. I then spun in the opposite direction and kicked him using the heel of my foot.
He fell to the floor, gasping for air. After a few seconds, he once again got up, damn, he must have a lot of stats in regeneration.
"Again! You cheating prick!"
How was I cheating?
He once again became ready to swing but suddenly a muscular hand struck the head of the guy trying to fight me.
"Calm down, Alexander, he didn't even throw the mug, isn't that right, Ivalia"
A man with a bushy beard, red eyes and large stature to add to his menacing look stopped the other man, Alexander from continuing the fight.
"Wow, Father you take the fun out of everything!"
This time a woman, dressed like a sorceress, wearing clothes dyed dark purple to match her eyes and black hair with here her chest being exposed with only her 'essential parts' being barely covered...(Is this what kid's these days were into wearing?) She was also the one who seemed to have thrown the mug
"I apologize for the actions of my daughter, to make it up to you, how about a nights stay with food provided for free"
So he was the owner of the inn?
The room once again returned to its boisterous nature as the man who had attacked me was now quiet and meek, also slightly red? After making eye contact with the woman...He doesn't like her?... Right? Oh, poor man.
"I need to stay in this town for 7 days, so how much more for 6 more days?"
"That will be 60 Silver"
"Ha, You're not going to offer it for free as well?"
"You have to understand sir, I'm running a business here"
Of course, I didn't expect it for free, I just was curious how he would respond.
He led me to a desk, where he wrote my name down and returned 40 silver for my 1 gold coin.
I was led to my room and given the key
"If you need anything, such as an extra meal or bath, it will cost slightly extra and just call for one of my daughters"
"One of your daughters?"
"Yeah, Ivalia, who you have met, Maria, the waitress, Orphelia, the one at the counter taking orders, or Pria, she works as a chef at times and helps out at different places at other times."
If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
"Right...quite a few daughters"
"OF COURSE! The number of children a man can have and his wife can bare, are foundations of his pride and evidence of his masculinity, what about you? Have a family or are you too young for it?"
"Hahaha! I can't remember if I'm being honest with you"
"Can't Remember?..."
"Well anyway, thanks for guiding me"
I headed into the room, it was quite larger than I assumed it to be, maybe roughly 3-5 meters in height, 6 meters in width and 6 meters in length.
The room itself was quite bland, with a large window spreading across the wall and a comfy-looking bed.
I always maintain the peak of my body so I don't tend to contract diseases but dirt is another matter, I'm surprised I haven't become much dirtier during the time I have been here. The blood has already returned to my body after purifying itself so there aren't blood stains but what about all the blood from the woman and goblins?
Oh, that reminds me...What do I do about her? I said that I was Level 0 to the receptionist but after I kill the woman I left in the woods, my level will rise. Hmm, what to do, what to do...
For now, It's daytime so I have to do things on my list. First on the list is better weaponry, I also need armor, regeneration takes too long so it's better to not have to die and come back, armor although basically useless on me, will help with that. I also don't want a situation where I'm immobilized due to an important part of me being cut, so It isn't fair to call armor completely useless on me.
I headed outside and followed along the road to the weaponsmith that was recommended to me by the receptionist.
I had arrived at the shop
Swords were line up and placed in racks, almost everywhere.
"Ah, a customer, hello! How may I help?"
A young woman with blonde hair and a blue dress to match the color of her eyes showed up.
"I was looking for a good sword, preferably custom made, how long would that take?"
"Hmm, you will have to ask Gustav, oh! Gustav is the owner of this store"
"I heard my name"
A short man with red hair and a bushy red beard that looked as if it was constantly on fire showed up, he was probably a dwarf as per fantasy cliches but it would be rude to assume.
"Yes, he would like a custom sword and he also wants to know how long it would take"
"Hmm, a normal steel sword with no enchants or class requirements would take roughly 5 days, longer if you do want things added to it"
Hmm...I don't have that kind of time on my hands, I guess I will go with a premade one for now.
I spoke to him about all the things I want in a sword.
"A Sword with that many...requirements would take roughly 1 year at the earliest"
"Fine, I will return a year later to check if it is complete or not anyways, for now, I need a premade sword with a blade roughly 50 to 60 cm in length and with good electrical conductivity for the week"
"Not even going to batt an eye for the price? Hahaha Okay, In regards to your preference, let's see..."
I said the length in cm out of habit but I didn't expect they used same measurements here as well.
"These are the swords we have for thunder elementals"
I was led to a selection of swords
[A Large Taser]
[Damage: 135 {354 When fully charged}]
[Charge:1000{10/s when in contact with direct sunlight}]
[Description: A Large Electrically Charged Sword With High Amounts Of Burst Damage, From The Mass-Produced Set Of Popular Weaponry, Used To Immobilise Hostile Threats]
When choosing a weapon it's not wise to only look at the damage, as there are a lot of things that this analyzing ability doesn't take into account. It's best not to ignore other features of the sword. Such as the Durability of it, what about weight? Reach? Penetrating Power? Slashing Damage? Thrusting Damage? What about the damage per second and in other words, the speed of each strike.
[Light Sabe-]
Wait wait wait! That's copyrighted material. I kept looking around the store. Before something finally caught my eye.
[Ira-Sixth]
[Damage: 130]
[Description: A Sword Crafted By Master WeaponSmith Gustav, Once Used By A Heretic]
"Oh, My apologies, I thought I had already placed this in the storeroom, please continue looking around"
He seemed to quickly try and remove the sword from my sight, the reason was obvious
"What is a heretic?"
"To not know of heretics...You are not around from here right?"
"Something like that, so what are they?"
"They are those that go against the natural order of the world and life itself, They are abnormal beings, They are strong, unnaturally so, the reason they are called heretics, however, is because long ago, they had gone against the beings with wings"
The young woman in the store cut in while the old man was explaining.
"They are...Immortals"
