Chapter 11
Part 2
"Take me to the other skeleton," I said, expecting it to move me close to one of them, but that was not the case, it just stood there as if it had not heard my command.
Which I knew was not the case since I'm pretty sure it could hear me, after all, it did pick my head up when I commanded him to. I wish I still had my hands so I could show him where exactly I wanted him to move, perhaps that was the issue, he did not know where to go.
"I said take me to the skeleton next to the chest," I repeated, yet it was no use for the skeleton that was carrying my head stood in silence. Making me question if my voice was being drowned out by the dark abyss of this small dungeon room we were in.
"Now what," I told myself.
Perhaps I wasn't being clear in my words, maybe this skeleton needed precise wording for it to do what I wanted it to do. Then again what did I want it to do exactly? Even I needed to be sure what it was I was trying to achieve by my orders. I wanted to try and see if I could control two skeletons at the same time. That was the plan, so I needed to be close to one of them to try it out.
I looked over to the walls of the dungeon, expecting a door to magically appear and with it, bring trouble my way.
"I need to hurry," I said, not that I was afraid of death, I mean, as long as a piece of bone remained so did I, right? That was what the skill had said. But then again, I didn't want to test it out either. It was bad enough that I was a talking head, I didn't need to be some conscious bone that was lying on the ground forgotten.
"Ok, let's do this again," I said, looking up at the skeleton that was carrying me in his arms.
"Move toward the chest," I said, but it was no use for it just stood silent, like a wall, silent in its place.
"Well that didn't work either, What am I doing wrong? "
There had to be some requirements I wasn't fulfilling. This was a game after all.
"Move forward," I said, and to my surprise, it worked, for he took a step forward, then stopped.
"Finally," I said, smiling.

"Move forward again."
Every step it took, it got closer to the chest, where I wanted it to be.
Finally, after a few more steps, the skeleton came to a stop by the chest in the middle of the room.
I looked at the other skeletons that walked past us, not paying much attention to us for they seemed too preoccupied by their mindless purpose.
“Stop,” I said, as I saw one of the skeletons walking toward us.
His eyes looked more dead than a skeleton should have, it was as if nothing was truly going on in their head, they truly were mindless, as if they were nothing more than lines of code in some game program.
Well, I’m going to change that,” I said to myself, I was going to become the leader this bunch of bones needed, not for their sake but my own, for I needed to survive this predicament.
“Drop your weapon,” I said, and the skeleton in front of me just stood there, his weapon still in his hand.
"Perhaps my commands are too complex,” I thought to myself, they might have been simple English words to a regular human, but to the undead, they were too complex for their feeble minds.
“Open your hand,” I said and slowly but surely it began to open its bony hand, releasing both the sword and shield.
“Bone whisperer skilled leveled up!”
The game voice said, accompanied by a victory-like sound.
“You’re now able to take into command more than one skeleton at a time.”
The transparent window read in front of me.
“Just want I wanted,” I said, smiling, well if any human were to walk right in they would see I wasn’t smiling but grinning.
“Extend your arms toward me,” I said, and it obeyed, extending its arm in front of us.
“Pass me to him,” I said, and to my surprise, the skeleton that was carrying did just that, passing me to my other minion.
“Now you pass me back,” I said, and for a few seconds, I was being passed around between the arms of the two skeletons.
“Skeleton language achieved !“
A small light blue window appeared in front of me.
"Well would you look at that,” I said, being amused by what I had accomplished by pure luck.
Thinking back at the luck stat I had.
“You can communicate with the undead clearly, but not too, after all, they are undead!”
I wanted to let out a quick chuckle, who knew this game had a sense of humor.
“Let’s test it out,” I said,
“Pick up your weapon and go to attack position.”
The skeleton in front of us picked up the sword and the shield it had dropped and went into an attack position, just as I had commanded.
I think I understand now. I’m able to add more sentences to my commands, they couldn’t go beyond a simple sentence but now they can take compound sentences.
“You,” I said, looking up at the skeleton that was carrying me,
“Walk me to the other skeleton, and you skeleton number 2,” I said, giving him the name on the fly,
“Stand by the wall.”
And just as I ordered them, they obeyed.
Skeleton 2 walked toward the wall and waited, and the skeleton that was carrying me walked toward the other two skeletons that were still walking around the chest aimlessly.
As I stood in front of one of the remaining two skeletons, his eyes were as mindless as the other.
“This should be quite easy,” I said,
“Drop your weapon.”
The other skeleton obeyed me,
“Pick up your weapon and stand by the wall.”
The skeleton I had nicknamed skeleton number 3 walked toward the other skeleton and stood there, both of them awaiting my command.
I looked at the last skeleton and sure enough, he obeyed me just as easily as the other one.
I looked at my small little army of three skeletons that were armed, obviously, this wasn’t going to be a formidable army, but just thinking about the potential that something like this had, was enough to bring a dead skeleton like me to a big grin.
