"Expect the unexpected."

- Unknown

"Magic is still the greatest unknown of all, even after all my years, I have only just begun truly delving into the true origin of magic, the arcane."

- Reshiram Del Lavatos, the Sage Monarch

-------------------------------

After some time the elf calmed down and the skeleton made it onto its feet, albeit with a gaping hole burrowed into the ceiling. The two stared at each other, the elf staring from the floor, dripping with sweat as it breathed heavily sorting its thoughts.

The mind of the elf was a mess, however, it made a few general observations as it tried to sort itself and the situation. First, this skeleton bore the very thing that was the sole dark spot in its past. Secondly, it was much a far stronger version then the elf had ever seen or created. Thirdly, not even his own mental defenses that beat a god's mental attacks could resist. Fourth, he was bonded to a skeleton a nelfyesia skeleton for Olgarth's sake!  They don't even have a heart let alone a mind! The only way such a bond could be theoretically possible is if the skeleton had a semblance of intellig- wait. The elf studied the skeleton hard now, reviewing every casual glance the eld had spared over the last fifteen days. Slowly but surely, it could feasibly say it was possible. From eye movements, to its stunt attempting to get back on its feet, to this staring contest they held. no skeleton 'looked' at someone. They did not move without orders, and orders only work verbally. It moved a hand side to side, and like a cat, the skeleton's orbs followed perfectly. The elf swallowed, fearful of the necromancer who made an intelligent corpse, something not even he could do. Slowly he rose to his feet, the gaze of the skeleton following his face as he rose.

The elf scowled slightly, aggravated at this whole situation. The elf began mentally going through a list of possible ways to break the elgasia, however, none would likely work on one of such strength. Already he could feel the elgasia working, the need to protect and safeguard the skeleton growing slowly like a plague inside of him, he wanted to puke. Thus he would attempt at the least to break free while he still could.

Another week was lost as he labored in vain, and on the eighth day, he was truly enthralled by the mark. He sat in a chair in his laboratory, taking note how he could 'teach' the skeleton as it were a child. His mind was now in a full war zone, each equally strong. One the will to resist, and the other to submit. Submission was growing stronger by the second and he knew he had run out of time to escape the marks grasp, he sighed heavily, supposing there is worse to be bonded to then a child-like skeleton.Minutes ticked on as submission won, now clear in thought he once again took note of the skeleton not being elvish. The face was pudgier and lacked the ear base of the elves, as well as a lack of a small tail bone left after death. He also noted how short the skeleton was in comparison to himself especially, as well as the frame being rather stocky like someone came along and smashed an elf down for size.

A knock came at the laboratory's door, as he had long since deactivated the runes preventing sound to transfer in or out. With a flick of his wrist, the rest of the runs deactivated and the door slowly crept upon revealing a male elf.

"Yes, Sirius?"

"Lord Reshiram, you have a visitor."

Silence descended as Reshiram raised an eyebrow in annoyance. "And?" and waved his wrists of is motioning to continue "Who is it?"

"An elf, my lord."

Reshiram's left eye twitched "And who is this elf?"

"A male elf to be more precise my lord."

Now both eyes twitched. "And...who is this 'male elf'."

Reshiram was this close to ripping the soul of this new hire and putting it to use in either his experiments or constructs.

"My apologies, Lord Tenebaria visits my lord."

Rehiram smiled "See, was it that hard to give me a huradnes name, hm?" The elf suddenly collapsed pale, as if the life was drained out of him. The elf looked at the newly taken soul, uninterested really in such a weak specimen, he was half a mind to send it to the ether, when the skeleton suddenly grabbed the soul. His scientific mind froze as he watched the skeleton look at it, intrigued.

The skeleton poked and prodded at the soul as it held it close to its skull, enraptured by, well, something. As it quite literally pressed it against its skull for a better and closer look, it suddenly began to dissipate into a black and white mist, and flow between its jaws as it disappeared.

Never before had the elf seen anyone devour a soul. Never before had he seen anyone, or anything, not trained manage to contain a soul in their hand. Of course, slowly the elf was losing his surprise with new discoveries with the mysterious undead, especially after realizing it held its own 'will'. The elf felt the need to nurture and protect the skeleton well up within, though he knew the elgasia was the source of such feelings. He began wondering what sort of pact he was forced into, knowing it was not the 'true' elgasia of equals nor the absolute servant and slave, but somewhere in between.

The skeleton felt strange after the curious orb disappeared. It hadn't realized it had absorbed said soul, and was looking around for where it went. It felt this strange source of energy in its bones that it didn't like, and decided to 'release' that energy.

The room turned pure white as light suddenly streamed out of the skeleton. The elf would later be thankful he had unconciously shut the door after the now departed servant entered the room, as this skeleton just released pure unfiltered mana, something that would kill anything but dragons and gods. The light ended and the elf was wide eyed and breathing heavily at what it witnessed as his mind raced to catch up. Reshiram fainted, obviously, on contrary to what he believed would soon pass, was very surprised.

The skeleton seeing the curious thing go limp hesitantly moved a finger, and poked it, and kept doing so, unsure what exactly was going on.

Very curious, for a skeleton that is.
