"The beauty of nature lies in that of parent and child bonding. Even compared to humans, nothing is more beautiful in my eye than a Grenetu Wolf caring for its young, peacefully"

- The Hunter Balwip of the Vertsrous Mountains

"Of course I care when one of my creations get destroyed! To me, these skeletons are family with a bond stronger than blood!"

-Unknown

"There is a certain undead which is far more interesting than others in my honest opinion. Very hard to make, and besides the very thing that makes it interesting it is utterly useless. Known as a 'Caretaker', if it is present to the hatching, or birth of any creature regardless of intelligence, it is able to place itself as the parent in its eyes. And it's damn good at its job as a parent too."

- Axus Dur Gonavez, written in one of his many personal journals

Mere moments ago, the skeleton bore no true thoughts. Its existence simply revolved around the ability to recognize its eternal foe and fighting that foe.

Mere moments ago, the Mitocrasis held no concern for anything but its own sake. To retain its dominance upon this mountainous territory.

However, these were the truth of mere moments ago. Through the mystical mark having taken root upon the skeleton shoulder, and the Mitocrasis investing interest at the mark, the two became bound together at the 'soul' or the ‘heart’ level. It was so that if you were to reference one, in a sense, you too referred to the other. A bond deeper than that of lovers, an eternal bond that cannot betray or fail. In the ancient world, a ritual was conducted to perform a similar result. It is called an 'elgasia', that which connects hearts. The ultimate connector of minds. Once upon a time, it was used to settle disputes between nobility, however, such knowledge is lost in the flames of war and deceit.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

The skeleton rose for the first time and faced its partner of soul and the two placed their heads upon one another, neither moving for several minutes.

They suddenly separate and both instinctively walk side-by-side to the lair of the Mitocrasis. No, they walk side-by-side 'home' for the first time.

Home, was a dark, damp cave on the western half on the mountain, almost on the complete opposite end of the crash site. A thin drip came from the stalagmites, bones and rotting corpses littered the floor haphazardly like a young child's play room.

With the lack of natural thought of the skeleton, the relationship between the two almost immediately became that of an overprotective parent to a small child. the Mitocrasis slunk over to a back corner, turning thrice like a cat before plopping silently onto the hard ground, its eyes stared expectantly to the skeleton, who in turn lay like a Mifus (the term for a Mitocrasis's young) would in its early weeks past birth.

After confirming to itself its 'child' was well protected in its natural armor, the monstrous 'mother' fell asleep, with the skeleton laying motionlessly, imitating it.

The strange part of this relationship was the fact the Mitocrasis is a male. The even more bizarre fact was the mark caused the normally reserved parental instincts for females towards the young to appear in it, along with its natural male ones. Thus the mind of the Mitocrasis gained a distortion unprecedented.

A male Mitocrasis is a lazy hunter, enjoying to peck and toy with its prey, however, a female is a night terror of a huntress, striking quickly and efficiently in the shadows. If anything, the mark had caused the king of the mountain to rise to another level of monstrous. Not only that but if it's young were nearby, it would become even more ferocious, something men would write stories for centuries about.

Nevertheless, there is another very important fact to take into consideration. Female Mitocrasis are far weaker than the male. So all in all, this skeleton, by pure bizarre chance and accident, had self-created the stimulus of 'instinct' for itself through near brainwashing the powerhouse that is a male Mitocrasis into being its pseudo mother and protector. Not only that, but due to the nature of the elgasia, the Mitocrasis will eternally follow the skeleton around like a lost little lamb.

Quite the large stroke of luck one might say.
