"Urghh..." I leaked out a small grumble, I currently have my eyes closed, wanting to know whether or not my experiment was successful.
*All or nothin'* I steeled my resolve. This is at best, a gamble... But my luck never failed me.
I slowly opened my eyes and a bright light shone upon them, I was startled for a few seconds.
After my eyes gotten used to the surroundings, I've noticed that there's nothing around me.
There is a floor, yes. But I can't see anything else, it was pure whiteness... complete emptiness... An absolute nothingness that stretches farther than the eyes could see.
After that, I checked my body. Looking if there's something wrong, I wouldn't like a missing limb or a third leg...
Jokes aside, there's nothing wrong according to my findings. My clothes is still the same as before. Wait ---yes there's no visible difference as of yet. My hat is still on my head. I don't want to think about what I'd do if my hat was gone.
But still, this place gives an eerie feeling.
*Mhmm, I bet this means it either worked, or I've kicked th' bucket.* I thought in my head. It was a 50-50 chance for either situation, If it was the latter, that just means that this is my limit.
"Now then, le'see... I guess I'd look fer clues as to where I got sent..." I've decided on what should I do. The most important thing right now is to gather information."
Before I could even take a step, a female voice could be heard out of no where.
I've looked around to search for the source and found no clue.

"What? Ugh... Did my [Gate] malfunction?" because of the words of the strange voice, I wondered whether my experiment ended up in a failure.
<49 6e 74 72 75 64 65 72 2c 20 68 6f 77 20 68 61 76 65 20 79 6f 75 20 72 65 61 63 68 65 64 20 74 68 69 73 20 70 6c 61 63 65 3f> the voice said a weird string of numbers.
"Wha'dya talkin' 'bout?"
"Anyways, Th' name's Fate. Twisted Fate. Yours?" I started out by introducing myself, I hope we could get an understanding afterwards. I need information as to where I got sent. When sent in an unknown place, gathering information is a priority.
"Versailles, eh? Is that where I am right now?" I replied with the first question that popped on my mind.
"Mhmm, let's say that I have a certain ability that can transfer me anywhere. Though, this is the first time I've tried using it to jump from a world to another."
*Weird, I thought other world people can travel worlds freely... Don't tell me, my efforts would all be for naught?* I sighed inside. Of course, my poker face was indestructible. Not even a twitch could be seen that would show my disappointment.
"Yeah. Though, t'is the first time I tried using my [Gate] to travel through worlds."
<[Gate]?> she said inquistively.
"Th' name of my ability." I answered back.
she briefly said. Afterwards, her voice disappeared for a while.
*Ugh, dun' tell me foreigners aren't welcome here... Well, at least, I know that I'm not dead.* my lips slowly curled into a smile, knowing that my experiment worked.
Having nothing to do, I passed time thinking about what to do afterwards while waiting for the voice to return. It's not that bad, I now know where I currently am, and I could probably gain more information from that voice.
------------------------------------------
-A few hours back, in Demacia of Valoran Continent-
Inside a dark backstreet of Demacia, there was a small table and a pile of cards.
On one hand, a Mage wearing a brown cowl, low enough to hide his eyes.
On the other hand, a Gambler wearing a hat donning an amazing poker face.
The two of them were currently playing Poker.
"Call" the Mage curtly said.
They were not betting money though, it was bottle caps. The winner would get the item they want from the loser. The Mage wanted Magic Book in the possession of the Gambler(The Gambler was inept with magic so he can't learn it even if he read it hundreds of times). The Gambler wants a ring that amplifies the user's magic 10 times that is in the ownership of the Mage.
Currently, the Mage was on a bad situation. Because of the previous "Call", his last bottle cap was on the table. This is now his final chance.
On the table, the cards placed was:
-The Jack of Hearts
-The 2 of Diamonds
-The 6 of Hearts
-The 10 of Hearts
-The 2 of Spades
On the Mage's hand was the Ace of hearts and 4 of Hearts. He was secretly smiling inside because of his cards. Getting a flush is rather rare so he was quite confident.
If his opponent's hand was also a flush, it would end up in a draw. If the other party had a lower hand, then the Mage would regain his chips back.
When it was time to show the cards, the Mage was shocked then regretted his decision.
On the Gambler's hand was two Jacks. The Spade and Diamond. Giving him a Full house.
"Haaa..." the Mage sighed "I should have known better... Now I see why you've been titled the 'Card Master'"
"It's just my lucky day." the Gambler answered back, taking the promised object, ---a small ring emitting a blue light.
Then, he left the dejected Mage.
The Gambler walked for a while, reaching the highest point on the nearby forest. It was already midnight.
The reason for all the effort was a rumour. That magic would be amplified on the Night of the Blue Moon that happens once a century ---Tonight.
If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
His deepest desire was to gain the ability to use magic. A few years back, he gained that ability on an experiment of a well-known(notorious) scientist, Dr. Xavier Rath.
It was a High Risk gamble. The chances of succeeding was low while the chances of dying(and other side effects) was high, yet he prevailed. He gained the abilities [Destiny] and [Gate], which helped him in the [Institute of War].
He was ecstatic when he gained his first magic. But after his excitement subsided, he got filled with greed. Wanting to become more powerful, gaining more magic.
Because of that, he searched the whole Runeterra for any possibility of learning magic, but none have worked so far. Then, he got struck by an idea. To learn magic from another world. In Runeterra, various creatures from different worlds can be found, so why couldn't he use his power to go to another world himself? That was the question in the Gambler ---Twisted Fate's mind that time.
On the Night of the Blue Moon, while wearing the Amplifying Ring, Twisted Fate activated his [Gate]. It was another gamble, he doesn't know where he would be sent or would some problem would occur like getting sent under the earth or getting dismembered in the process. Just like before, the odds are against him, but he still believes in his luck. After all, he's a Card Master.
------------------------------------------
Inside the white space was an old man. He was currently watching the actions of different people, no, players in the game. He was looking at more than half a dozen of screens at the same time. He was routinely checking the players that piqued his interest's progress to look for a worthy successor.
He was Yoo Byung-Joon the creator of Royal Road. He was the one who programmed the AI that manages everything on the Versailles Continent.
Besides him was a large glimmering crystal, his prided creation, the AI titled a Goddess, Versailles.
"W-What is it? Has my pizza been delivered yet? Did someone divide by zero?" was the shocked reaction that came from Yoo Byung-Joon. He was so focused on watching the players that his heart jumped in surprise when he was suddenly called.
"A foreign entity? A virus? A hacker? Have you purge it out?"
"Not a virus? Then what is it?"
"WHAT?! Let me see." Afterwards, Yoo Byung-Joon manipulated the floating windows in front of him, showing the person described by Versailles from different angles.
After doing a thorough investigation, he was shocked at his findings.
"No way... There's no sort of data inside him. We are currently in the virtual worlds and that is just ---Impossible. To have a body right here, he must have a string of codes that functions as each of his parts, yet none can be detected in him."
"Hmm, You can say that his being was directly sent inside, not by any machine. It's like he was teleported inside the game, with his real body."
"If what he says is real, then the possibility for another world or multiple other worlds is highly likely! I would like to observe him closely. Let him inside the continent and interact with him. Report to me whatever findings you notice, help him fit in with the players and NPC and assist him in the game. Also, keep this a secret between us, if the government finds out about this, we can only guess what would happen."
When Versailles left, Yoo Byung-Joon was smiling while looking at the screen showing a certain man wearing a conspicious hat.
"Interesting... A being from another world, eh?"
------------------------------------------
-Present-
"Hello. You're back, I was just startin' ta get bored." I answered back with a small smile.
"That's fine. I don't mind." I replied, though honestly, I'm not good with someone watching me, and a female(I think?) at that....
Then, for the next few hours. We were just conversing with each other, she explained to me the idea of Virtual Reality, that this world was just a game. She told me how it works, like stats, skills, etc. She also answered my question. Though, since I abide by the give as much as you take with allies, I also told her a bit about my previous world. A world where magic truly exist. As well as the fact that there are also other worlds other than Runeterra.
'So there's still a possibility for me to learn magic here...' I thought to myself as I smiled in my heart.

Author's Note(Grumblings):
Ughhh... Finally finished the prologue. School's nearing, not sure when the next one would be posted.
I would probably update whenever I have the mood to write... I have a vague idea on what to do, but no proper plot as of yet...
I also have another idea in my head for another fan fiction... But I'd finish the first volume of this one before starting on the other...
