Tell me, how do you think it feels to be betrayed? To have all your life's work stolen from you in a matter of seconds. To have your name lost while someone else takes all the credit, and leave you to die in an endless void? Well, it doesn't feel good at all. The pain of having your body broken down into mere atoms of data, to have your mind floating in cyberspace. Not knowing if you're dead or just insane.
Of course, this may have been the worst thing to have ever happened to me but it may have also been the greatest thing to have ever happened. My body may have been completely torn away from me, but my mind is still intact enough for me to process everything. All the information and data that surrounds my very being, fueling my conscience with strange knowledge.
Taking the form of this green and black matter that's sprinkled with numbers and symbols. This is me cataloging my findings and my mind is all I need. After spending years of my existence here in this technological landscape, it is time for me to do what I do best, experiment.
From a silver white laboratory, scientists scramble around, not knowing what or why it was happening. The computers and machinery in the lab sparked and surged with green electricity - getting more and more intense by the second. Some were trying to shut down the power but were only met by shocks and burns.
Eventually, they all resorted to running out of the lab, hoping to escape the electrifying ordeal, but they were all met with locked doors. Confusion mixed with panic as all the scientists realised they were trapped, and could only hope that the event would subside with no further harm. Unfortunately for them, things were about to get even worse.
In the middle of the lab, stood a humanoid robot contained inside a glass cylinder tube with wires and other devices connected to it. Green electricity sparked across the wires until it eventually reached into the robot, causing its eye to suddenly glow a bright green as it seemingly activated on its own.
Unlike its mechanical body, the robot's face wasn't like a human's, it had a diamond-shaped framing with a singular orb in the middle that lit up when alive. The machine then proceeded to break free of its wires and broke through the glass pod containing it.

The scientists in the room soon noticed their robot breaking out, but of course, no one had made it do that...it was moving on its own accord. Once the computers stopped short circuiting, one of the scientists went over to try and shut it down.
Through the robot's eyes, it looked around the room curiously, but as the scientist set a hand on its shoulder the robot shot out an arm, grabbing the scientist by the coat with superhuman strength and threw him into the wall with a painful crack. Glints of red glowed through the robot’s arm like rubies.
"Zone Technologies…" The robot sounded as it focused in on the two words that marked one of the computers and started walking over to the rest of the scientists, who cowered away. Just then, the guards ran into the room, breaking down the iron doors with rifles aimed at the robot. And without another moment, the guards opened fire on the machine.
The shots fired into the robot, ripping it to shreds, but they weren't bullets. They were red, searing hot lasers that, instead of just piercing the metal of the machine, burned right through it. These weren't regular guns, these were blasters...how far has humanity advanced without me?
The guards stopped after the barrage of red ended to see if the robot was down, but it wasn't. Not completely. The robot shakily raised its head at the guards and scanned the blasters.

[Network Connection Detected.]
The robot raised a mangled hand at the guards and then, as if by magic, all their weapons started sparking with green electricity before transforming into some kind of green and black goo that fell right through their grasps. The goo that used to be blasters crawled towards the broken robot and seeped into it like sentient slime, but more metallic.
They all watched in horror as the robot's damages were repaired in seconds, and it got right back up. Not as the scientists' old grey robotic creation, but as a new green glowing and black metal machine that had taken on a new mind.
[New Technology Learned.]
The robot raised its hand towards the guards and the scientists, who looked at it in shock and fear, before opening fire. Bright green lasers seared through every single human in the facility that night, leaving no survivors or witnesses to recount the horrors that took place.
Once the robot finished its massacre, it picked up a loose piece of cloth from a lab coat that had the words from before, Zone Technologies. The robot gripped it in its hand and burned it away, then it looked towards a large city over the horizon with skyscrapers towering in the sky. Transparent walls surrounded the grand city, and he could see the shining lights illuminating with life as they reflected off his green eye.
"This world has changed so much, but so have I. I know you're out there, Zone. And soon I'll have what I deserve."
