Part 5

Security Breach: Extended Family (Part 5)

by

Shadow Bunny Dragon

Bonnie: Alright, the cameras are still out, so you're free and clear, Chica!

Chica: Leave it to me!

The animatronic chicken stepped into the security booth and looked around. She shook her head at the sight of all the dust and made a mental note to see about sending some S.T.A.F.F. bots inside to do a cleaning. Remembering why she was here in the first place, she walked over to the only console that was on and relatively dust free, and tapped in the code she had been given, letting the little camera to the side scan the barcode on Rex's I.D. badge while she held it up. She then leaned over to the mic.

"This is Night Security Guard 004, signing out," she said in a perfect mimicry of Rex's voice from when he was trying to make it sound deeper and more adult. She smiled at the sight of the sudden ping of a notification on the screen, claiming that the message had been received.

"There. Now all of our little chicks don't need to worry and can all get some sleep," she mumbled aloud, making a hasty exit. She checked her internal clock and saw that she still had a good ten minutes to get back to her room before the day shift staff were to arrive.

At that moment, Bonnie was watching Rex sleep in his new bed, having changed out of his ill-fitting guard uniform and into the Bonnie-themed pajamas a certain blue bunny had procured from the gift shop. The animatronic stood there, silent, as the boy slumbered. His glowing red eyes were focused on the boy's back, knowing full well what was hidden by his own smiling face printed onto the fabric looking back at him. The bruises, the cuts, and the scars...

"Sleep tight, Hopstar," Bonnie said in a soft voice, reaching down to gently stroke Rex's short brown hair. "I'm not going to let anyone hurt you ever again." Bonnie let out a sigh and, albeit reluctantly, exited the room. With the door shut, it was hidden once more, and thankfully right next to his own room on the now extended Rockstar Row. He took a moment to reflect on just how fast the S.T.A.F.F. bots worked when set to the task of readying the empty room for him. Settling in to the charging station that they had dragged in from... somewhere, Bonnie smiled, excited to be back as he looked around his bright blue and red room, as well as to have his little buddy back. Over in the hidden room by Freddy's, Gregory was curling up under a blanket, cuddling a stuffed Freddy.

"Good night, Superstar."

"Night, Freddy..." Gregory yawned and rubbed his eyes. The animatronic bear's glowing blue eyes twinkled a bit as he took a quick picture to file away with the others he was going to make into a photo album, once he had them printed out. Listening to the boy's soft snores, the bear silently left him to his rest. Entering his own personal charging station, Freddy smiled, and waited for the morning staff to arrive.

"Hey, Gary?"

"Yeah, Burt?"

The younger day-shift staff member looked up at the older one in confusion.

"I just got a notification that says that all the animatronics have finished charging," Burt said, actively trying not to stare at Gary's terrible comb over.

"So?" Gary gave Burt a curious look, taking in the skinny, clean-shaven younger man and wondering just how far out of highschool he actually was.

"Well, as you know, pings like that include a list of which animatronics are fully charged, right?"

"Right?"

"Well, Bonnie's on that list." He held up his Faz-Pad to show the other tech. Gary quirked an eyebrow as he saw that Burt was correct, Bonnie was listed as being 88% charged.

"Huh... I guess they finally decided to bring Bonnie back then." Gary took a sip of his coffee, trying not to grimace from the bland flavor.

"But shouldn't there have been, like, an announcement or something?" Burt asked, tapping at his pad. Gary just shrugged.

"Probably, but honestly, kid, the folks that run this place do all sorts of strange stuff on a whim all the time. If you care at all about maintaining your job, you won't go asking too many questions."

Burt seemed to mull this over.

"But... shouldn't we at least go check to see if it's true?"

Gary let out a deep and clearly annoyed sigh before nodding.

"Fine then, kid, let's go see Bonnie."

One Pizzaplex Shift Later...

Cassie was laying strewn about her bed when she slowly started to wake up. Blinking and yawning, she smiled up at the face of the animatronic wolf staring right back down at her.

"Good morning, Rockstar! Or, well, good afternoon. But still, how'd you sleep?"

"Really good, Roxy," Cassie said with another yawn and rubbed her eyes. "You really were here when I woke up."

"I promised I would be, didn't I?" Roxy's tail was wagging as she reached out to pick Cassie up and pull her into a hug.

Cassie threw her arms around Roxy's neck and hugged her back. She just loved how soft and warm Roxy's new fur was, compared to her previous plastic shell.

"Yeah, but, I mean, you have so many fans who all would want autographs, so I figured that that might eat up a bunch of your time..."

Roxanne simply raised an eyebrow to that.

"Normally, you'd be right, Cassie. But the thing is... none of them are my special little Rockstar! And now that our last show for the day is over, it's time for our special little guests to get up and have some fun!"

At that very moment, over in a secret and decidedly already very pink hidden room right beside Monty's room, a certain animatronic gator was helping a certain little girl, now wearing a green and yellow dress and matching light-up velcro sneakers, put her hair into pigtails.

"Can we really go out and play in the pizzaplex with the other kids?" Amy asked, struggling to keep from bouncing in her seat. Monty chuckled as he checked his hair-styling handiwork, his claw upgrades proving very surprisingly useful in that department.

"'Course, Princess," he said, scooping Amy up and setting her on his shoulders. "Now, ya remember not ta tell anyone that yer livin' here, right?"

Amy excitedly nodded her head. "Uh-huh! And if anyone asks if I'm lost, I just tell them that my Daddy works here!" She hugged the back of his mulletted head as she said it. She felt his scales as she did so, enjoying the feeling of the texture. Monty could feel the parts of him serving as his heart warm up at that.

"That's right, and one of us will receive an alert and come and get ya if ya just press that button on the side of yer Faz-Watch." He smirked when he saw the Monty-themed watch on her wrist being held out for him to see. He frowned a little when he caught sight of her other arm in the mirror, with the pink cast still on it, but was quick to shake it off. With that, they exited the secret room, and snuck out into the main pizzaplex, where it wasn't unusual for an animatronic to give one of their little fans a piggyback ride. Monty nodded to Freddy who smiled and waved before resuming signing autographs, all while keeping an eye on Gregory, who was amongst the crowd of fans excitedly fawning over the returned Bonnie.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

"It's just so great to be back, everyone!" The big blue bunny chuckled, blushing a bit from the attention. He signed some autographs and posed for photos with fans. He was so touched that the fans not only remembered him, but were so excited to have him back, with a couple of the younger ones clinging to his legs. He smiled at Gregory as the boy approached and ruffled his hair. Then he spotted Rex, standing off to the side, looking a bit uncomfortable.

"Alright everybody, it's been so wonderful to see so many familiar faces again, but now it's time for me to take a good look and see how much the pizzaplex has changed."

The brought out a chorus of groans from the children, which of course, caused him to chuckle.

"Don't worry! In one hour, I'll be up in Bonnie-Bowl, ready to take on any and all challengers!" That got the kids all excited before they ran off, most to excitedly tell their parents or guardians that they got to meet THE Bonnie. With the crowd dispersed, Bonnie walked over to where Rex was, smiling a bit when he saw Rex dressed in the Glamrock Bonnie hoodie he'd gotten for him, complete with bunny ears, and knelt down to be at eye level with the boy.

"Hey there, Hopstar. How are you feeling?"

Rex rubbed his arm and looked around, nervous. "Um... I'm having fun..." Rex looked away as he said it, prompting a sympathetic smile from Bonnie.

"You know that you can tell me anything, right, Rex?"

Rex made eye contact for just a moment, and then quickly looked back down at his shoes.

"I guess I'm worried that... someone might recognize me... and I'll have to leave." Rex's voice was just a whisper, but Bonnie heard him loud and clear. He reached out and pulled Rex into a hug, resting his chin on the boy's head.

"Hopstar, I promise you, I won't let anyone take you away. This is your home now, and it's always going to be a safe place for you." He pulled away and looked Rex in the eye again. "Okay?"

Rex looked unsure, like part of him wanted to believe the animatronic bunny, while yet another part of him still seemed so scared. Yet, a small smile formed at the corners of the boy's mouth, and he nodded, hugging Bonnie back. Nearby, Gregory, wearing a Freddy hoodie, was watching, unsure if he should say anything or not. The sound of large thudding footsteps brought his attention to Freddy now standing beside him. He smiled up at the orange bear, who smiled right back down at him.

Overall, the late afternoon turned out to be a very fun event for the animatronics and their special children. The bots all had to give attention to the guests, of course, but they all took turns in herding their kids off to have fun together. Rex proved very adept at keeping up with Chica over in Mazercise, even when she remotely started to change around the different paths, and include balance beams and monkey bars over pits of foam balls, trampolines used to jump up to higher platforms, and even swinging from a rope from one faux rock climbing wall to another, again over the safe foam pit.

"Oh wow, Rex, honey! Where'd you learn to move like that?" Chica asked when, finally, she'd run out of obstacles and combinations to send the boy through. Though she did note that Gregory and Cassie were not that far behind Rex, exciting her at the prospect of coming up with some new ideas to submit to the techies to potentially implement into her attraction to make it even more fun for their little chicks, and subsequently, the guests to the pizzaplex.

"Six years of gymnastics!" Rex said while proudly puffing out his chest. "And after watching some parkour videos, I started practicing that too!"

"That's why you were so gosh darn hard to chase that night!" Chica laughed.

"Wait... parkour?" Cassie, while still panting, looked at Rex with wide sparkling eyes. "Do you think you could teach me and Gregory how to do that too?"

"Hey yeah! That'd be awesome!" Gregory grinned and looked to Rex, who now suddenly seemed to lose a bit of his bravado and began to blush.

"Uh... w-well, if you want... th-then I guess I could..." He stopped, seeming to mull something over, before he looked down at his shoes and turned towards the animatronic Chica.

"Uhm... M-Miss Chica?"

"Uh-uh, it's Auntie, sweetie!" Chica wagged a finger as she said it.

Rex blushed some more and nodded. "A-Auntie Chica?"

"Yes, sweetheart?"

"... I'm really sorry about... shoving that trash can over your head when I was running away from you guys..."

Chica cocked her head to the side for a moment, her servos aching a bit to see how much this seemed to weigh on the boy and, knowing that they were all alone thanks to her access to the cameras, she scooped Rex up into her arms and began to rock him.

"H-hey!"

"Oh hush," Chica giggled, gently squeezing Rex to herself. "Now you don't worry about that anymore, honey-bunny! You were scared and acted out of fear. Just like a certain little someone else did." She looked pointedly at the innocently whistling Gregory, who was doing his best to look nonchalant. "Anyways, you're forgiven." She kissed Rex's cheek and set him back down on his feet, before reaching over to ruffle Gregory and Cassie's hair. While those two were attempting to wave her off, yet giggling, Rex simply rubbed his cheek, a faraway look in his eyes.

Elsewhere, Amy was playing a game of Midnight Racer 2, which had a two-player option. Taking up the second player was Roxy, who was getting a little frustrated at having to dodge cars left and right. Amy being in the lead certainly didn't help.

"This is so much fun, Auntie Roxy!" The little girl smiled at the wolf, who couldn't help but chuckle and smile back, her frustration quickly melting away.

"Yeah it is! Plus you're so good at it! Have you played this game before?"

"N-no… Step-Daddy Victor said that videogames are for boys."

Roxy let out a snort at that, making a mental note of the name Victor.

"Yeah? Well that's a load of… nonsense! Girls can do whatever they want!"

"Like robbing a bank?"

Roxy had to blink for a moment at that, before she started laughing, seeing the mischievous smile on Amy's face appear.

"Sure thing, Swamp Princess. You, me, Cassie, and Chica will pull off a heist. I'll be the getaway driver!"

"Yay!"

Roxy received a sudden notification at that moment, alerting her to a new message in their group chat.

Freddy: I have just acquired a Faz-Wrench… but now I feel bad about taking it without the tech's permission. I think after I put it back, when he returns, I shall bake him a muffin basket!

Monty: Focus, Fred. We got us a job to do tonight!

Roxy: Monty's right, Freddy. If we're really gunna help those endos, then we can't afford to be distracted. Now, you're sure that you can figure out which one is the otter?

Freddy: I have scanned the serial number for the external pieces, and it should just be a simple scan to find out which one is which.

Bonnie: Are you sure you three don't want me joining you down there?

Monty: While I'd feel better about four of us catchin' one of them together, we still gotta think about the kids.

Freddy: That's right. Their safety is our top priority, so we need you and Chica and everyone else making sure that they are away from any potential danger.

Sun: You can count on us! OOOOOH! This is going to be so much fun! Chica just sent me a video she took of her and Rex and Gregory and Cassie playing in Mazercise, and we're totally going to see if Rex wants to try a rematch against yours truly!

Moon: Sun, please try to avoid getting overexcited.

Sun: TOO LATE!!! : )

Eclipse: Hehe, I think we're going to have to reign him back in… again…

Chica: Those three have so much energy, though! I'm sure Sunny can totally help them burn some of it off!

Sun: Thanks, Chica! That means just so much to me!

Later that night…

"Okay, my readings say that this is Olivia, so she'll do for the first test run!" Freddy looked around the darkened storage facility, seeing Monty and Roxy holding up their flashlights to freeze the other endos in place. It had taken a bit of trial and error, and a few jumpscares, to finally find the one with the serial numbers that matched Olivia Otter's. He carefully inserted the Faz-wrench into the slot at the base of the endo's neck and turned it like a key in an engine. The endoskeleton suddenly started thrashing and let out a tinny shriek, before stopping and falling over, being easily caught by the orange bear. "Oof! Monty, she is a bit heavier than I can handle, mind giving me a hand? Also, Roxy, can you get the door?"

"On it!" The she-wolf said, waiting for Monty and Freddy to finish carrying out the now limp endo. She quickly rolled down the door which shut with a loud thud. The trio made a hasty trip through the staff corridors to Parts and Services. Freddy and Monty gently set the endo up on the chair in the cylinder while Roxy carried in the boxes that they'd set aside, being the ones with the parts for Olivia Otter only.

"Hmm... It would seem we have a new Faz-Friend who needs some additional assembly," said the automated voice over the speakers. "Would you like to assemble and register this new friend?" Freddy, Roxy, and Monty all looked at each other and silently nodded. Walking over to the PC, Freddy pressed the Y key, and the door to the cylinder sealed with a hiss. Inside, the mechanical hands descended on the endo, some heading towards the open boxes.

A little while later, back at the Daycare...

"I'm gunna get ya this time!" Sun happily bounced after Rex, who ran serpentine though the jungle gym.

"Keep telling yourself that, Sunny!" Rex laughed, spying Amy and Cassie playing some kind of bean bag-throwing game, while Chica looked on and cheered. He spotted Bonnie shaking his head and wagging a finger in disapproval in front of a guilty-looking Gregory, who reluctantly handed over a Fazerblaster. Of course, Rex could also see the amused grin the big blue bunny was trying to hide. Rex took a sharp right and leapt off the rainbow bridge he and Sun were on to land in the ball pit two feet below. Just as he made it to the edge of the pit, a pair of yellow gloved hands, each with little jingle bells tied with red ribbons around each wrist, wearing extending loose-fitting yellow sleeves tightly, but gently, wrapped around him, pulling him into a hug with the sunny animatronic.

"Gotcha!" Sunny cheered with a giggle, his rays spinning in excitement. He set Rex down and turned him around to lean over a bit. His bright blue eyes shining in playful joy as he looked the boy over, his mouth in a wide grin. "So, what do you want to do next, Rex?"

"I... uh... don't really know what else to do..." Rex blushed as he was unable to come up with a game to play that wasn't just more running around. Sun's mouth closed as he quirked an eyebrow and began tapping his chin.

"Hmm... OH! I know for a fact that Moony is just the BEST when it comes to making shadow puppets! How about we turn down the lights a bit, let Moony out, and they can put on a whole shadow puppet show?"

Before Rex could answer, the big doors to the daycare were pushed open, and in strode four animatronics.

"Everyone, please gather around. We have someone we'd like to introduce to you all." He turned to smile at the animatronic otter, who was nervously playing with the tip of her tail. Her fur had a slight pinkish hue to it, with blonde hair tied in a ponytail. Her eyes were a bright green, and her outfit was a red one-piece swimsuit. Receiving a little nudge from Roxy, she shuffled forward a bit and timidly looked at the assembled bots and children before her. Her nose twitched a bit, and she took a deep, simulated breath. Placing her paws on her his, she smiled, and did her best to look confident.

"Hi there, y'all! I'm Olivia Otter, and it is such a pleasure to finally meetcha!" She spoke with a slight southern accent. Her tail thumped against the colorful flooring of the daycare as she looked around, freezing when she spotted Chica, suddenly blushing.

"O... M... G!!! You're Chica!"

"Yes?" Chica asked, before letting out a squawk of surprise when Olivia ran right over to stand in front of her, her green eyes twinkling in elation.

"Y-you're, like, so awesome!"

Chica: Is she linked up to the private chat yet?

Freddy: Not yet, she's still waiting on an update.

Chica: Okay... then is this normal for her? I mean, you all said her software was running normally after giving her a diagnostic once she was put together.

Monty: Yeah. Apparently it's part of her original code. She's a total fangirl of ya, Cheeks. XD

Roxy: Oh, and like you didn't spaz out when you first met Bonnie?

Monty huffed at that, but smiled as the otter had moved on to the children.

"You four are just so cute!" Olivia practically squealed when she picked Gregory up to cuddle.

"Hey! I'm not some teddy bear!"

"'Coulda fooled me, sugar," Olivia said, flipping up the hood of Gregory's jacket, pointing to the fuzzy bear ears attached to it.

Chica: So we're sure she's safe around our chicks?

Roxy: We would've deactivated her if she wasn't Chica.

Moon: Still, I suggest we all keep a close eye, just in case.

Sun: Moony! Now that is no way to treat a new friend!

Eclipse: While I agree with you, Sunny, I can also see Moon's point. Let's all just observe and maybe gently nudge and give advice if need be.

Bonnie: I like her already!

Monty: I can see that. Ya like just about everybody.
