Chapter 6

Security Breach: Extended Family (Chapter 6)

by

Shadow Bunny Dragon

"Goodbye, Jacob! We can't wait to see you again!" Sun bounced and twirled while giving a wave to the little boy being led out of the Daycare by his mother.

"Bye, Sunny!" The little brown-haired boy said with a toothy smile, a couple of teeth actually missing. Once they passed through the large double doors, Sunny stopped dancing and began a quick check on all the kids still under his care.

"Okay, 14 out of 14 accounted for and all in perfect health and having fun!" Sunny spun around, letting their arms extend a bit as they did so, the rays around their face spinning as well.

"Let's not get too carried away." Eclipse's voice came through the speaker, bringing the spinning sun to a stop. "Little Jemma still seems to be a bit upset about something, and I think Rodney is starting to get a bit overstimulated."

"It's not time yet for me to come out, but maybe we could set up a quiet shaded area, like a pillow and blanket fort, and I can come out for a little bit and tell them a story?"

"That's an excellent idea, Moony! And maybe helping us construct it can help Rodney feel a bit more relaxed, and help Jemmy-Jem-Jem feel better?"

"It's certainly worth a try! Oh! But what about... the others?" Eclipse only asked this when their combined senses confirmed for the trio that no one was in earshot of them.

"Just did a quick checkup and saw that Gregory and Cassie are still fast asleep," Moon's voice said. "Amy got a little restless and used her Fazwatch to call for Monty, who played with her a bit until she felt tired enough to go back to sleep. They're all still adjusting to their new sleep schedules, after all."

"What about Rex?" Sun asked, quirking a gold and red eyebrow.

"He was having a nightmare, so I alerted Bonnie who made an excuse about needing some sudden maintenance work to go and see to him."

"Oh dear," Eclipse said.

"Well... we'll just have to make sure he has some extra helpings of fun when it's time for him to come out to play!" Sun began skipping over towards one of the new foam castles installed in their realm, stopping by the nap area to grab some supplies for the fort.

"Just make sure you don't leave the others out," Moon gently chastised, causing Sun to scoff.

"I would never do any such thing!" Sun paused and clutched at their chest, their blue digital irises dulling from their usual bright glow as he sank in on himself a bit. "We'll keep these ones safe. No matter what."

"Of course we will," Eclipse said, a warmth to their voice. "But for right now, we have other children to help and make sure have a fun experience."

That got Sun's rays spinning once more while his blue eyes shone with the brightness of an actual star.

"Oh absolutely! And we'll make this pillow and blanket fort big enough to rival the very pizzaplex itself!"

"Oh dear..." Eclipse said.

"Well... this should at least be interesting." Moon let out a snicker.

Meanwhile...

"B-Bonnie, you can put me down now," Rex said with a blush as the blue animatronic bunny continued to hug him close, rubbing his back.

"I just want to make sure that you're feeling better, Hopstar," Bonnie said, finally pulling away to look Rex in the eyes. Rex looked away, embarrassed.

"Bonnie... look, I'm sorry to worry you. It was just a bad dream." To his surprise, he found his nose being booped by the bunny.

"Oh no, you have nothing to apologize for. You had a bad dream, you needed comforting, and I am more than willing to give that to you." Bonnie smiled and sat Rex down on his lap. Rex felt so small in that moment, looking up at the twinkling red eyes of the animatronic. It brought back some very happy memories, prompting a small smile. Bonnie took notice but said nothing, instead choosing to file that one away for later. "Wanna talk about it?"

Rex rubbed the back of his neck, feeling awkward.

"It's no big deal, Bonnie. I promise..."

"But?" Bonnie cocked his head to the side.

Rex sighed.

"I was here... in the pizzaplex. At first everything was normal... but then I realized that I was... alone. The lights flickered, and I saw... a shadowy figure walking towards me. No matter where I ran, they kept finding me and getting closer. They reached out to grab me when I woke up."

"I see," Bonnie said a moment just before they enveloped the boy in another hug.

"Bonnie?"

"You will never have to worry about being alone here, hopstar."

"I know..." Rex looked away, the top of his head being nuzzled by the bunny.

"I mean it. This is your home now, and it always will be."

Rex sat silently as he let those words sink in.

Home...

"We're not yet at closing time. Do you want to get up now, or would you like to sleep a little while longer?" Bonnie asked, looking down at his special hopstar with a happy smile.

Rex was about to answer when he let out a yawn and rubbed his eyes.

"I guess I do still feel a bit sleepy," he said, exhaustion hitting him. "But... could you wait until I go back to sleep before going back out?"

"Of course, Rex," Bonnie said, standing up with Rex securely in his arms. He used a free hand to pull back the blankets and sheet on the bed, setting the boy down before pulling them back up to his chin. He waited and listened to Rex's breathing becoming rhythmic and steady before he finally left.

At that moment...

"And remember to keep kicking your legs, y'all!" Olivia beamed at all the little ones doing their best to follow her example in the shallow practice pool. Despite all the people enjoying the new attraction and entering and exiting, Olivia easily spotted Roxy entering and giving her a wave.

"Okay kids! Ya keep practicing until I get back, and then we can work on our strokes!" She beamed at their excited cheers before hopping out of the pool and making her way to the other animatronic, having to dodge a couple of S.T.A.F.F. bots carrying trays of sodas to a birthday pool party at the far end of the room. Olivia was keeping an eye on things though, thanks to all of the security cameras in her pool area.

"Hiya, Roxy!" The slightly pinkish otter practically cheered, secretly hoping that Chica would be next to come by. She had yet to get the chicken's autograph.

"Hey, Olivia," Roxy said with a raised eyebrow, spotting some of the rowdier kids apparently having a cannonball contest. "I just came by to see how things are running."

Olivia smiled and blushed, her tail practically wagging. "Today has been AWESOME! At first it was real slow, because this area was brand new and not previously announced, so not a lot of people were bringing swimwear to the plex. But then I guess word got out and suddenly this place has just become so popular!"

Roxy held in a wince, remembering how that'd been the case for her race track and Monty's golf course. Of course, after the initial interest in something new, there'd be a decline, sure, before attendance would become a regular, much less crowded stream. With some exceptions like parties and holidays and special events. The wolf considered informing the otter about this, but seeing the happy glow, decided to let her enjoy it while she could.

"And what about... internally?" Roxy noticed the pause in the energetic otter as Olivia cocked her head to the side a bit, thinking it over.

"Well, all my diagnostic scans keep coming back normal, and I haven't sprung a leak anywhere... I do..." She looked away and absentmindedly grabbed her tail to start playing with it, an obvious tell that she felt nervous about something.

"What is it?"

"... I have these memories... of being... trapped... in darkness. Just so... alone. I remember feeling a sense of... being thrown away..."

Roxy listened and watched as Olivia seemed to shrink in on herself a bit.

"But then... there was a light, and then I woke up in the cylinder, and there you guys were! You, Freddy, and Monty. And then I felt so happy and excited! I'm not really sure what to make of it though... was that what a dream was?" Olivia looked expectantly at Roxy.

"Sounds more like a nightmare," the wolf mumbled under her breath, until she realized that Olivia was still waiting on an answer from her.

"Uh... m-maybe? You were... asleep, for so long, that you were bound to have a dream or two or... something."

Olivia seemed to ponder on this, before nodding and smiling.

"Makes sense to me! OH! I know you and the rest of the glamrocks aren't waterproof or anything like that, but would you like to take a look around the pool area later? When the... uh... regular customers have all gone?" Olivia leaned in to whisper, a bit too loudly for Roxy's liking, and made a very obvious conspiratorial wink. The animatronic wolf was just glad that no one was paying them any attention, being too distracted by all the neon and the water.

"Well, we already did a quick look around before you were activated..."

Olivia shook her head.

"I found some strange new areas that only I could unlock though. It was with a digital key I found in this odd folder called Expansion Number 2."

Roxy was both surprised at that, while also finding it to be rather typical that the company had yet another mystery to unravel. Doing some research with Eclipse had shown that Fazbear Entertainment was a company surrounded in mysteries.

"Well... sure! Can't wait to see what we find."

"Me too!" Olivia jumped for joy, before she stopped, her ears twitching. "OH! Looks like my little pups are starting to get a bit antsy! Gotta continue the swimming lessons after all! Bye, Roxy!"

"Later, 'Livia." Roxanne chuckled at seeing the pinkish otter's cheeks glow slightly pinker. In a lot of ways, the energetic otter reminded her of a certain chicken.

Later that Evening...

The S.T.A.F.F. bots were out in force tonight, just like every other night, doing each of their individual tasks. Chica spotted some emptying out a few trash cans and wanted so badly to just rush over and see if there was any pizza inside. However, she had more important matters to attend to, as she was reminded by looking down at Rex's ID badge in her hand. She entered Bonnie Bowl to find the children being watched by Freddy and Bonnie, with the latter teaching Amy how to bowl with just her uninjured arm. Chica felt a warmth in her servos as she looked at how happy they were, knowing that she and her friends were responsible for the smiles and giggles she'd seen more of the last few days.

"Alrighty! I just signed in for you, Rexy!" Chica said as she walked over to where Rex and Greg were whispering about something, picking him up under the arms for a hug.

"Oof! Uh, Chica, you know I'm not a little kid, right?" Rex blushed as Gregory snickered.

"I know, Rexy! But you're never too old for a big hug from your Auntie Chica! Right, Gregory?"

Greg tried to hop out of his seat and get away, but wasn't fast enough, and found himself being cuddled by the large chicken, a blush on his face as well. Freddy and Bonnie looked on, the latter giving the former's hand a gentle squeeze.

"Sure you don't want me helping with this one?" Bonnie asked in a whisper as Chica, now sweeping Cassie off her feet into a big hug that was quickly reciprocated, was keeping the children distracted.

"Not tonight, Bonnie. Maybe the next one, as there are quite a few endos down there, still roaming around." Bonnie simply put his hands on his. Freddy rubbed the back of his neck, looking uncomfortable. "Alright, you can help us catch the next one. Just... please keep the children busy again tonight. I'm sure my Superstar already is gunna try to find out where I went, and I have a feeling that Rex would do the same for you. And I' have a sneaking suspicion that Cassie and Amy would also go wandering looking for Roxy and Monty... and it's just too dangerous down there for them."

Bonnie reached over and booped Freddy's nose, making the classic squeak sound that never failed to make the blue bunny chuckle nor the orange bear to blush. "Okay, I get it. But a bunny can only go so long without getting in on the fun, okay? And I'm sure that Chica and Sunny, Moony, and Eclipse would also love to help out as well! I'd even bet that Olivia would jump at the chance to help out if she knew what we were doing..."

"Maybe... although Roxy seems to think that she's a bit on the fragile side right now. According to her, Olivia's memories from being just an endo are corrupted, and what she can recall seems to have had a lasting emotional impact on her."

"Okay, we can table the discussion for her helping out with this little project for now... just... be careful, okay?"

Bonnie's red eyes looked into Freddy's blue ones, filled with worry. The bear pulled the bunny in close and proceeded to rub their noses together.

"I promise, we'll be careful." Releasing the blue bunny, Freddy suddenly remembered something. "Oh, that's right."

"What is?"

"Olivia said she'd love to give the children free swimming lessons if they need it. That could be a great way to keep their minds off of us three for a while."

Bonnie nodded and smiled.

"I like it. Plus, it'd be a great way for her and the kids to get to know each other! Is she on our private message board?"

"I believe it's been going slow for her, what with the number of updates she's been needing to catch up on as well as having to help entertain and help the guests today, but I do believe she should have access to it."

Bonnie's eyes glowed a bit brighter than normal.

Bonnie: Hey there, Olivia!

Olivia: OMG! Hiya Mr. Bonnie!

Bonnie: LOL! Please, just call me Bonnie.

Olivia: Can do! :)

Bonnie: Anyways, we and the kids are currently up in my attraction, but I thought afterwards we could swing by and see if they'd be up to go for a swim. We're trying to make sure that they get in some daily exercise in addition to eating right, and I believe that swimming can not only be fun, but great exercise.

Olivia: YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! And you better believe it is! It helps to work out muscles that normally get ignored in regular exercises! OH! I can even set up obstacle courses, a volleyball net, and other such games! Do you think they might like that?

Bonnie: I think they'll love it. But, we gotta remember that Amy still has a cast on.

Olivia: >.< Whoops! I completely forgot! Poor thing. Sorry. I don't want her to feel left out!

Chica: Maybe we could think of some way to cover the cast? Like with plastic? Then maybe she could join in on the fun a bit?

Olivia: O.O EEEEEEEEEEEE! Chica! You're right! I think I saw some waterproof cast covers in the supply closet!

Chica: ;)

Freddy chuckled as he read the messages. Looking off to the entrance to the bowling alley, he spotted Roxy and Monty, who both gave him a nod, the former holding the handy Faz-Wrench. With a sigh, he nodded back and started heading their way.

"Ready to head back down in the dark and wrastle with some endo varmints again?" Monty chuckled.

"Yes. I was able to find the serial numbers for the next two friends we'll be helping. Rusty and Ruby Red Panda. They're twins and come as a pair, but they're much smaller than us so hopefully this will be easier than when we had to wrestle Olivia to the ground."

"Oh please," Roxy said with a flip of her hair. "Since we've got more than one flashlight and know what we're doing, this'll be a piece of cake."

A short while later...

"GRRR! QUIT BITING MY TAIL!" Roxy reached around and grabbed the child-sized endo with her hands, yanking it off from where it had latched onto the tip of her tail.

"FREDDY, HURRY!" Roxy yelled, trying to keep restraining the thrashing endo. The bear ran over and found the slot for the Faz-Wrench, quickly inserting and turning it. The endo immediately went limp in Roxy's arms.

"GRAH! This one's purdy feisty too, Fred!" Monty said, holding out a similar small-endo that was trying to claw his face. Freddy was quick to use the wrench on that one as well, while Roxy used two flashlights to keep the others at bay. With both endos slung over Monty's shoulders, they beat a hasty retreat, making sure to seal up that darkened section of the pizzaplex once again.

"Oh great! They got oil in my tail fur!" Roxy complained with a huff, examining the fluffy appendage.

"Do you think you'll need to use the cylinder?" Freddy asked in concern.

"Nah, I got something for this back in my room. Not the first time it's happened, but STILL! It's just a pain to have to deal with."

Monty began to belt out a belly laugh at that. "Of course the diva of our group would complain about a little oil on her tail."

"My tail is worth more than you, gator boy!"

"Now, now, there's no need to fight, especially now that we've got not one but two new friends to welcome to the pizzaplex!"

Roxy let out a sigh at that.

"Why am I not surprised that you're still such a boy scout, Fred."

"Actually, after reading up on it, I do believe that I can easily qualify to be an eagle scout."

In no time at all they are at the cylinder, with Monty gently laying one of the small endos onto the chair inside, with Freddy and Roxy grabbing boxes with parts with the matching serial numbers.

"Okay, I believe that's the last part for... Rusty!" Freddy said after exiting the cylinder, with Roxy at the terminal, and Monty holding the second endo.

"It would seem we have a new Faz-Friend who needs some additional assembly," came the automated voice once more. "Would you like to assemble and register this new friend?"

Roxy quickly hit Y, and they watched as the hands once again began the process of cleaning and fully assembling the animatronic. The process seemed to go faster than it had for Olivia, and soon the fluffy red panda boy was assembled. He was wearing a pair of large crescent moon-shaped glasses, with a sparkling green sweater-vest and a white undershirt, with a blue bowtie that matched his shining blue shorts. With a loud hiss from the door opening, his eyes fluttered open, a pair of glowing orange irises blinking in confusion as he sat up. He rubbed his soft and fluffy face, covered in a reddish-orange fur, and gave his big bushy white and red-striped tail a hug. He hopped down, hiding a little behind his tail as he slowly exited the cylinder, gazing up at the three larger animatronics.

"Howdy, little guy!" Monty loudly said, causing the red panda boy to jump in surprise and duck behind a wall in the cylinder.

"Good job, scale-brain!" Roxy said, punching the gator in the shoulder.

"OW! I was just tryin' ta be friendly!"

"Well try not to scare people when you do it! Or do we need a reminder about that old man last week?" Roxy put her hands on her hips and narrowed her eyes as Monty waved a dismissive hand.

"Oh please, I heard that it was only a mild heart attack. He came back and enjoyed a show with his grandchildren the next day!"

"Hello there, little one," Freddy said, stepping forward and taking a knee, smiling warmly at the red panda boy. "I am Freddy Fazbear. These are my friends Roxanne Wolf and Montgomery Gator. Please don't be afraid. We're here to welcome you into the Faz-Family!"

"Uhm... n-nice to meet you, Mr. Fazbear," the smaller animatronic said in a quiet voice.

"Do you know where your domain is in the pizzaplex?"

"..." Rusty shuffled his feet and looked down, hugging his tail tighter. "I'm supposed to be the librarian at the Faz-Library. My sensors say that it's open, right?"

"It sure is! Why, I enjoy checking out books not only for myself to read, but that I think my Superstar would like."

Rusty smiled at that and exited the cylinder, looking up at the endo in Monty's arms.

"I-is that my sister, Ruby?" The larger animatronics nodded. "Are you gunna fix her?"

"Sure thing, kiddo," Roxy said, reaching down to ruffle the fluffy fur on top of of his head. Rusty blushed and looked up at her with hopeful orange eyes. Rusty let himself be led away a bit to watch as Monty entered the cylinder and set the remaining endoskeleton onto the chair, observing as the others put the boxes of supplies inside. He gaped in open-mouthed awe as they all watched his twin sister being assembled. When it was done, it looked like a female Rusty wearing a sparkling sequin dress. She instantly shot up and looked around with her own orange eyes, before hopping down and sauntering to the now-open doorway. She smiled at Rusty before going over the three big animatronics.

"Oh, EM, GEE!!! You three are absolutely FAZ-U-LOUS!!!" She spun and struck a pose. "Now, where is my studio at? I have some new fashion designs running around my mind that I have yet to bless the world with!"

"Hehe, I like this one?" Monty said with a laugh. "She seems like a tiny li'l firecracker!"
