“Indeed. This is because we seek to make our souls immortal.” The black-haired boy replied. “Aside from that, we are inherently different from normal humans. For example, we can do this.” He clicked his fingers.
Instantly, Jack became horrified! “Who exactly are you?” This was not because there was a eerie phenomenon or otherworldly signs. It was because…’Vin’ was not ‘Vin’! Jack realized he did not know the black-haired boy at all!
“B-but you came to class today, chatted with others, answered a question and…and…I even called you Vin!”
The black-haired boy became more mysterious in Jack’s eyes. He looked at the smirking boy warily.
” Ah, it’s just a simple memory spell.” The smirk never left his face. “You can call me Third Prince. Or just Prince Kevin. I’m rather famous anyway.” The black-haired boy’s smile widened.
‘Prince Kevin? Which kingdom does he belong to?’ Though Jack was puzzled, he didn’t ask further. From his intuition, he didn’t seem to have the qualifications.
“It’s a kingdom in the Seeker’s world. Never mind, I’m quite famous. I’m sure you’ll heat of me soon.” The prince seemed to recall something and frowned.
“I need to be somewhere soon. Let’s make this quick.” Jack felt a slight headache as he saw a needle materialize in Kevin’s hands.
Kevin pricked his fingers and forced out a glittering drop of blood with a groan. Though it was the same color, it stood out while running down his bloody finger. Kevin raised his other hand and the drop of blood hovered in the air.
A wave of nausea and mental exhaustion hit Jack. Out of the corner of his eye, he watched as the drop of blood grew bigger and more dazzling. He heard Kevin whisper.
“Endure it. The longer you stay conscious, the more benefits you’ll have.”
Jack gritted his teeth. He didn’t know what was going on but it was better to listen. A while later, Jack felt a bout of dizziness as he closed his eyes. Instantly, the prince pouted.
“Not bad. A D-ranked potential is still rather impressive for someone with such a poor foundation. He should nicely cover up the tracks of my new subordinate.”
Though the prince thought he had fainted, Jack hadn’t. He could clearly hear Kevin’s musings. He didn’t have the time to think about it. All he felt was the headache increasing in intensity. It was like his brain was holding up a mountain. He wanted to shout and yell as the pain became unbearable. Unfortunately, he couldn’t. He couldn’t even control his body anymore.
Kevin’s expression changed! The mental force intake was sharply increasing. He was so shock when he felt his head starting to hurt slightly. He watched in shock as mental particles flowed towards the rapidly-enlarging drop of blood. It couldn’t even be called a drop of blood anymore. From a sphere that was four meters in diameter, it had reached nine and it was still increasing.

“isn’t this A-rank already?” Kevin glanced at the unmoving Jack. “Strange. He’s clearly unconscious. How did he enter A-rank without- “
Kevin’s monologue was abruptly cut shot as the orb of blood swelled to eighteen meters! This was impossible unless…unless Jack had a bloodline!
Potential in the Seeker’s path was measured by the diameter of the orb of blood at awakening. There were the five normal ranks. They were A-rank, B-rank, C-rank, D-rank and E-rank. They corresponded to a diameter of 10, 8, 6, 4 and 2 respectively.
Beyond that were the royal ranks. S-rank, SS-rank and SSS-rank.
S-rank was from 10 to 19. SS-rank was from 20 to 29 and SSS-rank was from 30 to 39.
This meant Jack had a dormant bloodline! Jack had become just a rank lower than his from a normal human. If Kevin wasn’t concentrating so intensely, he would be shouting, “F**k! F**k! I never knew I was so lucky!” Jack was still his subordinate after all.
Before Kevin could calm down, the sphere of blood widened to thirty-six meters. This time, he had to curse. “F**k!”
His joy turned to panic. People with SSS-rank potential weren’t cabbages which could be found on the streets. They were emperors of nations and leaders of big organizations! Their every move would be written as headlines in newspapers!
Kevin didn’t believe his luck was so good. He wasn’t even qualified to lord over someone with such terrifying potential. He panicked and he lost his concentration. What happened next made him speechless. The huge sphere was still widening.
It felt like when you were spinning a book on your finger and decided to stop because it became to fast and instead, it spun even faster!
Kevin watched dumbstruck as the sphere rose higher in the air as it widened to 9999 meters. Of course, Kevin didn’t know the accurate number. All he could describe it as was, “Freaking huge!”
Kevin knew the spectacle would have alarmed other Seekers so he was very anxious. He became extremely relieved when it stopped at 9999 meters.
He hurriedly threw out a black seed into the sphere and watched as the gigantic red ball shrunk at an amazing speed. In a few seconds, all that was left was a hovering red seed that looked extremely pure and dazzling!
Kevin gulped. He was not happy with the outcome at all. Though the seed, or the Immortality seed helped people step into the Seeker’s path, it caused a fair amount of destruction as it entered the human body. If an E-ranked blood sphere was a grenade going off, then this…whatever the freaking hell it was, almost had the explosive power of a nuclear bomb. It was extremely dangerous!
Kevin looked sympathetically at Jack’s immobile body. “I swear, I’ll take care of any relatives and friends you got.”
As Jack heard his words, he became confused. ‘Am I going to die?’ He tried to calm himself down and think. ‘What went wrong? What’s going on outside?’
For a moment, he forgot about the pain brought about by his headache.
Kevin gestured and a neat opening was made on Jack’s head. He pushed the seed inside and closed it.
Jack felt the pain instantly stop. Just as he was about to be relieved, he felt like if he was inside a heated pot before, oil had been added.
It became not just a headache. The pain seeped into his bones and organs. Every part of his body! The torment had renewed with greater intensity!
Kevin watched as bloody seeped out of Jack’s body with a sad smile. Though he could willfully halt the awakening process, there would be a backlash so heavy that it could stop his progress on the Seeker’s path permanently and make him a cripple. There could be better outcomes, but he wasn’t willing to take the risk.
He waved his hands to cast an illusion on Jack’s body and slowly stepped back as he undid the skill [Memory Freeze].
He left the scene amidst the hustle and bustle. He believed the curious Seekers who came to investigate would take care of the corpse.
