Benevolent bandit

Benevolent bandit

….

Psi Realm. Northern Deserts.

A golden door appeared on the sea of sand. A heavily bleeding man was suddenly thrown in with a bag of jerky and a bottle of water.

“Argh!” Jack groaned in pain. The good news was the mental exhaustion and nausea were gone. However, the pain was just as intense as ever. Jack could swear that he could feel his organs disintegrating and reconstructing repeatedly. All he could do was try to remain conscious. He couldn’t afford to die now.

A few kilometers away from him a procession of motorcycles sped towards him. Their tires kicked up a wave of sand as they whizzed along.

“Leader is really wise. He actually managed to guess that Red Boar Gang will set up an ambush.”

“I’m sure Leader knew all their actions from the beginning. They were all playing in the palm of his hand.”

A group of burly men on motorcycles loudly chatted as they rode. Their bikes surfed the sandy seas in a triangular formation. The man in the center couldn’t help grinning as he was flattered so obviously. It was one of the things he loved about being a gang leader.

“To celebrate our victory, everybody would be given an extra hundred soul coins!” The gang leader loudly whooped.

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

“Leader is generous!”

“All hail the benevolent Leader.”

“Even saints are inferior to Leader.”

With loud whoops, the burly men burst into praises. The leader grinned so much that his enhanced facial muscles almost stiffened.

He suddenly saw an immobile body ahead of him. Normally, he would ignore the corpse and even make the dead body eat their dust.

He would feel a bit guilty doing that now, though. He had just been commended as generous and benevolent. He couldn’t do that something like that now, could he?

In a moment of self-proclaimed righteousness, he ordered. “I’m in a good mood. A few of you should dig a hole and bury that corpse. He’s a fellow human, after all.

Another round of praises was launched with fake smiles.

“So righteous.”

“Leader would go to heaven.”

The praises couldn’t be any faker. How would a bandit who specialized in murder and robbery go to heaven?

A few men ran out. “Leader, I think he’s still alive. He’s bleeding profusely though.”

‘F**k’ The gang leader cursed inwardly. Since he had pretended to be benevolent, he couldn’t just turn back now.

“Since he’s going to die, should we just bury him now and be done with it?”

Even though they were bandits, his subordinates couldn’t help but shiver. It was too freaking cruel!

Noticing his shivering subordinates, the gang leader became disappointed. “Fine, Let’s wait for five minutes. From the rate at which he’s bleeding, we’ll be able to send him off soon.”

The bandits were more open to this suggestion.

Five minutes went by and the guy was still bleeding! His red blood had dyed the sand red.

The gang leader became impatient and went over himself. “Since you’re so reluctant to die…”, he raised the boy’s head and was stunned. This guy was too young! He should only be in his early twenties. The gang leader’s heart softened. “Fine, little Qian, stich him up and bring him with you back to the base.”

“Yes, Leader.” A thin man smiled. He quickly stitched the bleeding man up and agilely hoisted him onto his motorcycle.

In a few minutes, the roar of engines sounded and the procession sped away.
