As Zhi and the young man in white sat there, suddenly, the Qi in the air fluctuated. Feeling the fluctuation, both of their faces changed and they both disappeared from their spots and when they reappeared, they were outside the hall and looking over the Island. Their faces were grim because this fluctuation was produced by someone having breakthrough and provoking the Tribulation from the Heavens.
However, this wasn’t a small fluctuation indicating that it was the First or Second Tribulation but rather it was something that affected the Qi flow of the entire Minor World indicating that this was going to be a Tribulation to step into the Origin Realm. The young man in white looked towards the spot where the Qi was gathering with a grim look and said, “Speak of the devil…. However this is bad, that person most probably has not done any preparations for the Tribulation and due to sudden enlightenment managed to take the final step.”
Zhi nodded grimly as well to the words. The young man had said that it would probably take a few more years for the people that are at the threshold to take the final step. Zhi calculated it like that and would have started making preparations for the Tribulations in a year or two.
He would have given them Pills to help them recover in between and would have loaned them highest grade armours or weapons if need be. This kind of sudden Tribulation was actually very bad because they had not made any preparations what so ever for the Tribulation.
Suddenly, Zhi said, “You take him to the little island in the south, don’t leave his side.” The young man nodded and turned into a beam of light shooting towards the place where the Qi was gathering. Just as the young man flew off, Zhi’s voice echoed throughout the Island, “Everyone who has passed the Second Tribulation form a defensive perimeter around the little island towards the south!”
He himself flew towards the treasury and picked the Pills of the highest quality that would aid the person that was taking on the Tribulation. Since the Tribulant did not have time to familiarize himself with the armour and weapon, Zhi didn’t bother taking them at all, since they would be of no use. Zhi quickly picked the best Pills and started flying towards the little island.
The moment Zhi’s words had echoed out on the Island, everyone, who had passed the Second Tribulation, immediately shot to the skies and towards the little island in the south to form a defensive perimeter around it. They all felt the Qi fluctuations in the air and just as they were thinking of the worst case scenario, Zhi’s order echoed out and that confirmed their suspicions.
Usually, a Tribulation was something that was a great spectacle but currently, everyone’s face were grim. They understood very well the consequences of not having enough preparations done. Only a minute or two had passed since the first fluctuation but the Tribulant was already moved to the little island in the south and everyone that had passed the Second Tribulation had formed a defensive perimeter around the island to make sure that no one could sneakily attack the Tribulant.
The black storm clouds that started gathering soon filled the entire sky and seeing the colour of the lightning bolts flashing, Zhi’s face darkened even more. Currently, the sky was flashing with golden lightning bolts and every one of them seemed as thick as a tree. Zhi picked up the pace and in a few moments arrived at the little island.
The young man was also standing nearby and next to him were twenty people. All of their faces were also grim as if they could feel the danger of the Tribulation as well. What was weird was that even Hide was standing near the young man in white. When Zhi glanced at all of them, he realized that everyone of them was a person whose cultivation Zhi couldn’t discern. Zhi just gave them a glance before arriving before the figure of an old man.
The old man was quite bony and gave of a fierce Dragonic aura. His blue robes were constantly fluttering from the Qi being emitted from his body. This old man was one of the people that the Long Ancestor had brought with him when the Clan split. The old man opened his eyes with difficulty and said through grit teeth, “Island Master, I-”
Zhi cut him off by shoving a three bottles of pills in his hands and said, “The blue bottle holds pills that will increase your defensive ability several times over for a short while, the red bottle holds pills that will raise your Qi quantity for a short period. The green bottle holds pills that will help you recover Qi at a rapid pace.”
He then sighed as he quickly added, “Unfortunately, this Tribulation came quite abruptly so even if I gave you the best armour we had or the best weapon we had, you wouldn’t have time to familiarize yourself with them, so it would be useless.” The old man looked at the three bottles with a thankful gaze and said, “Thank you Island Master.”
Zhi just smiled to the old man and ignored the Qi fluctuations beating against his body and patted the old man on the shoulder, “Don’t worry about anything else, we will make sure no one will take half a step on the island. You just focus on the Tribulation.”
The old man nodded to Zhi’s words and seeing this, Zhi turned around to leave. Just as he was about to fly away, he gave the old man one last glance and said, “Don’t die old timer.” Without waiting for the answer, he quickly left.
The old man was surprised for a second before a smile spread out on his face and he mumbled, “Understood Island Master.” As he said so, determination filled his eyes as he quickly took one pill from each bottle and ingested it. As the Pills melted in his stomach, a blue light screen appeared on him like a little barrier, his Qi started climbing towards the heights surpassing his previous peak by far. His depleted Qi also started rapidly replenishing and when his Qi was fully replenished in a few breaths, the old man stood up and raised an azure coloured spear towards the Tribulation Cloud and yelled at it, “Come one, I am ready!”
The Tribulation Cloud, that seemed to have been gathering it’s strength, struck down with indescribable might as soon as the old man’s words echoed out. The old man’s words echoed out the moment Zhi had gotten to his spot in front of the young man. He glanced back at the majestic figure of the old man striking upwards with his spear to take on the golden lightning bolt that was headed down.

As the old man took on the lightning bolt, Zhi’s face turned serious as he turned towards the twenty plus people and said, “I am not going to blame you for hiding your true strength but I expect you guys to make sure no one is able to disturb him.” As he said those words, he swept his glance over everyone present and then just left to another point.
Hide just smiled wryly and said, “Well, guess the cat is out of the bag.” The young man in white let out a little laugh and said, “By now you guys should know his personality, he won’t blame you for anything. However, this will gather a lot of attention so do your best not to let anyone get in.” Nodding to the young man in white, the twenty people behind him dispersed and each took a spot in the perimeter.
The current setup was like this: At the most outer ring were the Sovereigns, the next ring of defence were the Paragon level people and then came the Primadorial Gods. Amidst the Primadorial Gods were the twenty people that were still restraining their aura. They would not make a move until it couldn’t be avoided any more.
When Zhi saw the full defensive perimeter, he felt relived. Although the Tribulation itself was dangerous, he was confident that the old man would be able to pass it. What he feared was that someone would try to kill him during the Tribulation, so he had hurriedly ordered everyone to put up the perimeter so that no one could intervene.
Suddenly, Zhi felt a profound aura closing in from the distance and Zhi’s eyes narrowed as the Naginata appeared in his hands. He flew between the Tribulant from the Long Clan and the group of four that was closing in. When he reached in front of them, he excluded a very terrifying aura as he said coldly, “No one shall come any closer.”
The group of figures that was closing in were all wearing black cloaks that made it impossible to see their features. The leader of the group did not answer Zhi but rather snorted as he increased his speed. Zhi just said coldly, “I said, no one shall pass!”
As he said so, he swept out his Naginata horizontally and a crescent blade made of pitch black Qi shot towards the group of four that were rushing towards the Tribulation location. As the crescent blade of black Qi flew towards them, the four grew alarmed and the leader pulled out a massive brown sword to block it. Just as he was about to hit it, he suddenly felt danger from behind him. It was Zhi that had appeared right in the middle of the four and did a full circle with the Naginata heading for their necks.
The leader was caught in a bind, if he blocks the crescent blade made of Qi, Zhi would kill him but if he blocked Zhi’s Naginata, he would be killed the blade of Qi. The figure in black suddenly blurred as he reappeared in the distance but his aura was quite a bit weaker.
Seeing this, Zhi’s eyes narrowed as he quickly released a tyrannical aura that froze the three that were about to block his attack. Although it disrupted them for a split second, that was all that Zhi needed. The blade made of Qi beheaded the two that were at Zhi’s side and he himself pierced the throat of the figure that was at back of the formation.
Without missing a beat, Zhi stepped on air and then flew towards the last figure like a bullet. When the figure in black saw that Zhi was flying towards him, fear crept into his heart as he quickly shouted, “Stay your ha-” Before he could even finish his sentence, Zhi had pierced his heart.
The figure in black threw up a mouthful of blood and as his eyes met with Zhi’s cold eyes, he was truly terrified. Zhi retracted his aura as he said coldly, “I do not care who you are but I will remember this.” As he said so, he closed his eyes and put his hand on the robed figures head. Suddenly, a blood curling scream echoed out in the surrounding before the figure in black fell from the skies limply. Zhi opened his eyes and a cold flash passed his eyes.
He then said coldly, “Seems like the Sheng Clan truly does not know what is good for them.” Without skipping a beat, he opened his mouth and poured Qi into his voice to make it louder, “If any one of you bastards dares to take even half a step forward, you will end up like these sorry son of a bitches from the Sheng Clan.”
This sentence was directed at the people that were currently hiding in the shadows and it was quite effective. Seeing how quickly Zhi took care of the four people from the Sheng Clan, they had no confidence in being able to interfere with the Tribulation. But still, not everyone of them was there to interfere with the Tribulation, the small minority were.
Most of the people present were actually people that just came to spectate the Tribulation and had no thoughts about interfering at all. No one knew who moved first but soon, the people that just wanted to spectate it, moved a bit farther away and moved out to the open. They did not restrain their auras either and just stood there. One of the people cupped his hands towards Zhi and transmitted, “We are here just to spectate, we will no interfere.”
Zhi just glanced at the figures and did not pay them any more heed. He was still vigilant towards them but since they were so far away, they would be able to stop them in time. Besides, all of the people present were under the Third Tribulation and hidden amongst the Primadorial Gods, Dragon Cross had about twenty Origin Realm people. Unless someone who was from the Origin Realm discarded everything to attack the Tribulant, there was nothing to fear. However, they still could not drop their guard on this matter and everyone were vigilantly keeping an eye on the surroundings.
However, no more suicidal attempts came for now and the First Set of the Tribulation had been concluded. Seeing this, Zhi let out a breath of relief as he thought to himself, “One Set down, two to go.” Anyone who made it this far in Dragon Cross, there wasn’t a chance of them having a weak Soul or Will. So, the subsequent Set’s would be actually less dangerous than the First Set.
Now that the Tribulant had passed the First Set, the major portion of danger had passed. Still, they could not relax completely because the Third Set would be the most unpredictable one. As Zhi predicted, the Soul Tribulation was also passed successfully quite fast and easily but when the Third Set came, Zhi tensed up again. This was the final Tribulation but since it would be the most unpredictable, they could not do anything but wait.
He might pass it in a flash or he may even fall into the illusions made by the Tribulation. However, seeing the Lightning Bolt count reach seven in the blink of an eye, everyone felt relieved. But the colour of the Eight Lighting Bolt suddenly changed and had streaks of red mixed in. Seeing this, everyone present felt alarmed but since they could not do anything to help him, all they could do was clench their fists and grit their teeth.
However, their fears were unfounded as the Eight Lighting Bolt was dissipated soon as well and the Ninth, the final one, was also passed soon. When the Tribulation was successfully passed, a beam of golden light extended down form the skies, healing and improving the old man’s body.
The body of the old man was riddled in scars and his robes had been completely shredded. There were fresh wounds all over his body and blood stained the nearby ground completely crimson red. However, when the beam of light hit the old man, his Qi was rapidly replenished and his wounds all healed at the speed visible to the naked eye.
In a few minutes, every single wound on his body had disappeared. He now excluded an aura that was no weaker than Hide’s and company’s when they chose to stop restraining their auras. Seeing the successful end of the Tribulation, Zhi let out a deep breath of relief as he looked towards the old man with a hint of smile.
