Heaven’s Angels stood at the Yue Estate for a few days during the funeral process for the Yue Family members lost during the battle. Noble families from all over the city also tried to come and pay their respects after realizing that the Yue Family wasn’t exterminated somehow. They actually managed to overcome so many sects and come out on top! Wouldn’t it be a shame if they turned that impossible strength that wiped out the sects on their noble families?
In the minds of the noble families, they had to do whatever it took to get on the good side of the Yue Family as soon as possible. Otherwise, who knows if the Yue Family would ever think about turning its newly sharpened fangs on them?! None of the noble families except the Han Family treated the Yue Family well. And the Han Family only started to do that when it was revealed that the Yue Family’s only daughter was a disciple of the Golden Serpent Sect.
The Yue Family were no fools. After seeing that no one came to their defense against the sects, all of the noble families were turned away without the slightest pleasantries. While the Yue Family understood that strength was king in this world, friends that were only your friends if they could benefit from it were no friends at all. Ying nearly lashed out with her blade after hearing all of the flowery words and excuses given by the noble families when they tried to come to the mass funeral. Her brothers had to use all of their strength to restrain and pull her back. At the sight of her outburst, Ying’s father also didn’t stand on ceremony. He sent the noble families away.
Ying was going to be the future matriarch of the family. It would be best that he followed her wishes and began educating her on how to run the family. Out of all of her brothers, she was the one that held the most in terms of potential, social capital, and values. It didn’t matter that not a single one of the past leaders of the Yue Family was all male. Yue Tang would be an idiot not to pass leadership on to his daughter by keeping tradition foolishly. Male, female, what did it matter in the face of power?

“You have a surprise for me?” Ying asked with a confused look on her face. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier then?”
“It wasn’t appropriate at the time. And for this surprise...” Wan Qing giggled. “I think it would be best done at home instead of waiting till we get to the sect.”
“Put this on!” Jie excitedly placed a blindfold over Ying’s eyes.
“A blindfold? What kind of surprise is this...?” Ying didn’t share the girls’ joyous mood.
“If what Eldest Sister told us is true, it’s going to be the best surprise.” Lin Shu laughed.
“Just follow us and keep waiting in anticipation.” Jing had an amused look on her face.
Ying couldn’t very well argue against them all. So, even though she could be learning more from her father about how to run the family, she allowed them to take her away to who knows where while giggling and laughing all the way.
“Can you at least hint at what the surprise could be?” Ying knew her birthday wasn’t today or anytime soon. So that wasn’t it.
“Nope.” Lin Shu popped the word out of her mouth. “Just keep waiting patiently, Senior Sister.”
Ying groaned as absolutely nothing could come to mind about this surprise. She didn’t even know why she was getting a surprise gift in the first place!
“Why am I getting this surprise then? You can tell me that, at least, right?”
“It was finally time? Who knows?” Wan Qing cryptically answered.
“That doesn’t tell me anything!” Ying complained.
“It’s not my surprise. How could I know? I’m just leading you to the surprise.” Wan Qing replied.
Ying groaned once more. As they continued leading her somewhere, she felt a sharp jab on her waist and jumped in fright. Only because of the innocent girlish laughing that followed made Ying realize it was one of her friends that did so. “It’s a good surprise, Senior Sister. So put a smile on your face, or you’re going to make things awkward!” Lin Shu advised.
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
At those words, Ying finally let down her guard. Maybe a nice break like this was needed after learning under her father these few days. If her friends were telling her how great this surprise was going to be, then Ying would welcome it. She certainly didn’t know how much effort went into running a family before learning under her dad. It was a lot more work than just being strong enough to defend the family’s honor and embodying the family’s values, that’s for sure.
Eventually, they finally made it to wherever they were bringing her. Their noises of excitement grew as Ying felt someone taking off her blindfold. It took her a second to regain her sight again, but when she did, she was speechless. All the angels were together in one room and some of her family. Bright decorations filled the walls, along with a relaxing scent that flowed through the air, making her feel light on her toes. Then she saw something she couldn’t quite believe or understand.
Bing was down on one knee while holding up several gift-wrapped presents. He looked up at Ying dressed in formal robes, which brought out his figure quite well. An awkward look was present on his face before words came stumbling out of his mouth.
“Hey, Ying. Do you wanna uh... become my wife?” A hand grew out of his neck and scratched his head in nervousness.
Everyone grew silent as they anxiously waited for Ying’s response. Lin Shu and Jie seemed like they couldn’t help themselves as they shook each other in joy and disbelief. Wan Qing smiled as she knew the relationship between the two almost as well as Lei Zhi did. Lei Zhi just had a peaceful smile on his face as he looked in the direction of the two youngsters.
Ying’s mind was shutting down on itself when she heard the words coming out of Bing’s mouth. She heard them and knew what each word in the question meant, but when putting them together, it was like they formed an incoherent sentence. Was he speaking another language? There’s no way he asked what she thinks he just asked. This had to be just another dream... It had to be.
“Ying? Your betrothal gifts are a little heavy...” His voice flowed into her ears once more.
Since this was a dream anyway... Why not enjoy it while it lasts?
“Of course, I'll marry you, you big dumb idiot! What took you so long to ask!?” Ying pounced forward and nearly took Bing to the ground in her embrace.
Bing had to use some strength to stay grounded as Ying knocked all her gifts to the floor. He rose up with her crushing the life out of him and repeatedly kissing his face all over. His face rapidly turned red as everyone began cheering and shouting around them. Well, it turns out that Ying didn’t like him just a little bit but a lot more than he thought...
It didn’t take long for Ying to realize that this was indeed not a dream. The second her lips landed on Bing’s soft face, she knew it wasn’t a dream but reality. Bing actually proposed to her first! She was planning to propose to him soon, but he beat her to the chase!
Although her happiness was through the roof, her embarrassment pierced the very heavens themselves. Her face turned even redder than Bing’s as she tried to remove herself from his body. She wanted nothing more than to cover her face and run out in embarrassment, but as the future leader of the Yue Family, she had to stand strong in the face of such cowardly feelings! Ying let go of Bing and stood in front of him before coughing. “I accept your proposal...” Her voice was as quiet as a mouse, but everyone heard her.
They clapped and cheered at the two lovebirds. With that proposal out of the way, the party could finally begin. Elegantly dressed beautiful musicians came along with servants holding several plates of food. With serene joyous music playing, the Yue Family and Heaven’s Angels mingled.

“I didn’t realize Fat Ass had a thing for Princess.” Hu Tao ate while dressed in formal wear like everyone else in Heaven’s Angels.
“I only knew that Ying held feelings for Bing. I didn’t know he felt the same way though.” Runt ate alongside his master.
“You got any little girls you’re interested in yet?” Hu Tao grinned.
“Not that I know of.” Runt casually responded.
“What about me!?” Jue felt hurt.
“I’m not going to marry you.” Runt told her upfront. He wasn’t interested in crazy women, no matter how good they looked.
“Why not!? Every little brother should want to marry their big sis! Even I know this much.” Jue argued.
“I thought every son wanted to marry their mother? Not their sister...” Jie was confused if she was in the wrong or was Jie wrong.
“Sister, mother, what’s the difference!?” Jue replied.
“Well, I don’t know my mother in the first place. So, it doesn’t matter anyway.” Runt shrugged.

“Don’t feel pressured.” Jing teasingly joked.
“I’m not.” Shang’s slightly reddening cheeks betrayed him as Jing saw through his thoughts.
“You haven’t even come 1% close to being allowed to marry my mom.” Li Li snorted. “Maybe when you can defeat me, I'll consider it.” The young child in human form hung onto Jing’s leg.
“That’s a tall order, Young Master.” Wen in another clone’s body chuckled.
“Only when I believe I'm worthy enough to stand by your side as an equal would I consider it.” Shang replied with pride.
“I see. Who knows what might happen if you take too long to reach my side?” Jing gave a small smile.
“...” Shang planned to increase the intensity of his training as soon as they returned home.
