1 - 9: Lending A Help

Insert Music: Kyrolis - Acceleration Of Kill

I raced down the path, the crunch of branches beneath my feet echoing off the trees as I remembered the same route we had taken to save Scott. I saw the same exit I had taken before, and the familiar sign above it brought a slight wave of déjà vu.

As I emerged from the dark forest onto the plains, I heard the rapid fire of Joshua's dual guns and witnessed his stylish midair rapid gunshot against Radogaan.

A flurry of sights and sounds greeted Christine and Axel as they arrived simultaneously.

Despite the immense damage Joshua inflicted on Radogaan, the beast was growing more powerful, the sound of its roar echoing through the air as it desperately tried to crush him with its feet.

Joshua moved with incredible speed, just barely dodging the Radogaan's stomp, and he could feel the tension in the air as he kept his guard up.

"There's Scott!"

Christine pointed at the injured Scott, her words tinged with concern. He lay down on the soft grass, feeling the scorching heat of the virus that was crawling on his chest as Veronica tended to him. It does concern me that the virus could spread if nobody tended to his wounds sooner.

With that, I instructed both Christine and Axel.

"Christine, you take care of Scott with Veronica. Axel and I will battle that monster alongside Joshua.

Christine swiftly ran to Scott's side with Veronica, her eyes filled with determination, and gave a concise answer.

"Copy that!"

We drew our weapons, feeling the weight of them in our hands as we lent a hand to this squadron. We joined the fight not out of duty but to ensure that no one would be left behind in the chaos.

I dashed at high speed and slashed Radogaan's chest harshly with my Nakajima.

JSLOSH

It was massive luck that Radogaan screamed in pain after I slashed his chest, and blood was splattering against the green grass.

The surprise was evident in Joshua's face when we were lending them a hand. Joshua acknowledged that the monster continued to grow in strength despite the intense damage that my Nakajima had inflicted.

Joshua snapped back at us, his voice full of anger, when we interrupted his fight.

"What the fuck ARE YOU DOING?!"

With a sly grin, I sardonically responded.

"Then what the fuck are you doing here? Don't you realize how strong that monster was?"

Joshua leapt out of the fight, his face contorting in frustration as he pointed one of his pistols at my forehead. His finger was hot on the trigger and ready to pull it whenever he wanted to.

"Because you bastards were getting in my way, I had to do this!"

But then Axel stopped Joshua's frustration by clearing up our intentions.

"Joshua, Red Cheetah Leader, please calm down! We're here to help! You back Tsuyuki up while I focus on smacking down his feet! Ok?"

Joshua's shoulders slumped in defeat, as he had no other choice. He then let out an exasperated groan and eventually conceded to joining us in the fight.

"As you wish if you were bored with life."

After he spun his dual pistols in a dramatic flourish, Axel and I lent Joshua some help in slaying Radogaan.

With that, I grappled myself toward Radogaan to do an upward slash.

SLASH SLASH SLASH

Radogaan stumbled backward after my strong upward slash. And that gave us the chance to slash him even more.

"HE'S BACKING DOWN! GOOD ONE!"

Axel's words came as he charged toward Radogaan and smacked his head with a thunderous thud. And following that, I slashed Radogaan's nape several times to open the wound.

Axel pounded Radogaan's face in while revving his hammer, which made the sound of a rumbling V-Twin engine.

Joshua then shot down Radogaan's body with his dual pistol with his infamous rapid fire technique, where the empty shells fell down to the green grass with metal clinks. He would go to extremes by tossing four coins into the air and letting the bullet ricochet in chain to inflict heavy damage on Radogaan's weak point.

Lucky for us, Radogaan dropped to the ground as the pain agitated his body. So I took my chance to charge for my attack.

"He's downed! Now it's our chance!"

Axel continuously smacked Radogaan's head with his hammer; the rumbling V-Twin from his hammer soared throughout the battlefield, and he drew his SMG to lure that monster into our deathtrap.

Joshua then reloaded his dual pistol with all the style of a fighter and continued to shoot down Radogaan's body with his infamous firing technique.

I kept slashing and shooting down Radogaan's neck to bring the monster to the brink of death.

But all of a sudden, Radogaan's body trembled, and the ground also started shaking as the beast made a minor earthquake. Radogaan quickly got up and released his deafening roar. His strength surged with the increasing influence of the scorching virus coursing through his body, amplifying his power.

That monster was getting stronger every time he was on the brink of death because his core had regeneration power, which combined with the immense scorching virus power.

We strategically retreated to regroup and devise a new plan to defeat the monster. Axel's expression contorted with a blend of anger and unwavering determination as his intense gaze locked onto the enraged Radogaan.

"Then how do we kill this thing?"

Joshua gasped for breath, his chest heaving as he urgently spoke the words.

"Unless we must extract or destroy his core!"

Joshua moved with incredible agility, the wind ruffling his hair as he ran with breakneck speed and jumped into the air, delivering a stunning rapid-fire technique.

DADADADADA

I felt the adrenaline rush as I quickly went for the hit after Joshua. And while dashing forth to fight against Radogaan, I queried Joshua with a shout.

"DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE CORE IS?"

He replied without stopping his attack on Radogaan's face.

"JUST KEEP SLASHING OR SHOOTING DOWN HIS NAPE!"

I drew my claws to grapple myself onto the top of Radogaan's head. I jumped as high as possible, swung my Nakajima into his nape, and slashed it harshly.

JSLOSH

The monster screamed in pain after I opened the wound in his nape. I noticed a dark gray pearl inside his wound, and it was glowing with a faint, ethereal light.

After I landed on the ground, I felt the impact reverberate through my body, and Axel gave me a way for my finishing move and ordered.

"IT'S OPENED! IT'S NOW OR NEVER!!!"

Joshua landed on the ground, his voice echoing through the air as he shouted, watching me finish the beast.

After I got close to Radogaan, around 5 meters away, I grappled and hooked myself as high as I could to stab Radogaan's core in the nape.

With a graceful jump, I transformed my Nakajima into Axe mode, the form to demolish Radogaan's core.

And all of a sudden...

JSHROACK

My Axe-mode Nakajima stabbed Radogaan's core in the nape, and that caused him to bellow in pain. Radogaan's body became so agitated that I grappled at his nape to keep my own body from flying away.

When my Nakajima stabbed the Radogaan's core in the nape, I countlessly revved it to heat the blade.

BRAAAAP BRAAAP

As the core slowly cracked, I lifted my axe-mode Nakajima for the second time to end his life.

I screamed as I revved my Nakajima throttle up to full limit until my blade exhaust released a dragon breath flame, searing with fire.

And then...

JSLOSH

I destroyed Radogaan's core straight into oblivion and easily slayed this monster. I landed on the ground and witnessed Radogaan's dying body slowly drop to the ground with a huge thud.

With that, I swung my Nakajima to remove the excessive blood from my blade, transformed it back into a sword-mode, and sheathed on my back as I mumbled to myself in a quiet tone.

"Heh. That was like breaking a toothpick."

Axel and Joshua were staring at me in disbelief, their eyes wide and mouths agape, as if they couldn't believe what I had done. They stared at me in disbelief, wanting to know how I did it. But they refrained from asking, deeming it unnecessary.

"Tsuyuki…"

Axel's words hung in the air as he looked at me. His body stiffened as if he thought I was a psychotic murderer.

Joshua glanced away with a sour expression, as if he were envious of my techniques.

"Cih, damn you!"

The mission was a success. We've successfully defeated Radogaan, and Christine and Veronica have saved Scott by injecting him with a powerful sedative and an antiseptic serum, putting him into a deep sleep, and quelling the virus that was scorching through his body.

We exhaled collectively after we finally slew the monster. But there's no need for us to go overboard with our celebration. While we were tending to the wounded Scott, the shadow of impending uncertainty loomed over us, a silent reminder of the unpredictable trials that awaited us on the next mission.
