1 - 7: Monster Hunting

Insert Music: Kyrolis - Acceleration Of Kill

Thunderous hooves pounded the earth as Radogaan rushed ahead, his horns pointing the way. We dodged the onslaught and made a lightning-fast getaway, our every step virtually unnoticeable to the immense monster after us.

I slashed Radogaan's feet twice with my sword to bring him crashing to the ground.

But I managed to infuriate Radogaan when I wounded his feet. He lashed out at me by swinging his horned tail in a rightward direction.

Axel's sharp gaze caught Radogaan's tail swinging towards my head. So he shouted.

"TSUYUKI! EVADE!"

With that, I quickly leapt up and flipped backwards in a single motion.

Feeling the vibration of the hammer in his fingers as the engine roared to life, Axel delivered a crushing blow in response to Radogaan's tail swipe.

Christine deftly dodged Radogaan's hip shove as she elegantly swerved past him, her Lancer blazing as she slashed into the monster's spine.

As I sliced at Radogaan's feet once more, he retaliated with his signature tail swipe. Axel, in the midst of his own attack, shouted a warning to me.

"WATCH YOUR HEAD!"

I was fortunate, and my reflexes were fast, allowing me to duck in time. I did a midair attack and slashed Radogaan's right waist after grappling against his waist.

Axel drew his SMG and shot down Radogaan's head to lure himself into Christine's target point.

Radogaan's cries of pain reverberated through the air as Christine felt lucky for her successful trap. She pulled the bowstring and charged her explosive arrow to shoot Radogaan's left eye.

She felt the bowstring give way under her fingers, and the arrow burst through the air with a sharp whoosh, and then...

JSHICK

HRRRYYYYAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHH

The explosive arrow stabbed Radogaan's left eye, and he was screaming in agitation. Never before had the immense monster known such intense suffering.

The stabbed arrow suddenly made beeping sounds as a sign of the countdown before the explosion.

And all of a sudden...

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

The arrow exploded, and Radogaan screamed as he fell to the ground.

"IT'S DOWNED! NOW IT'S OUR CHANCE!"

Axel's words reverberated through the air as he charged towards the crippled Radogaan, the engine of his hammer roaring to life. He struck the Radogaan's head harshly, resulting in crippling the monster even more.

Christine slashed the Radogaan's body from above with her Lancepear while doing an acrobatic front flip slash that created a wheel movement effect.

Together, we persisted in cutting the vulnerable creature's vital points until we achieved our goal.

I revved my Nakajima until the engine roared, pushing it to the maximum of 3 revs, the blade vibrating with power.

Once my Nakajima rev bar reached the maximum level, I dashed and pulled the clutch lever from my Nakajima handlebar, and I was about to slash the Radogaan head for a final blow.

When I pulled the lever, my Nakajima's exhaust spat flame, and I did a 360-degree spin forward.

BWOOOSH

When I was about to slash Radogaan's neck by 10cm, he suddenly regained consciousness and roared out loud.

And...

WRRRRRRYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH

The monster rose quickly, the air around him crackling with a black aura. I froze in utter bewilderment, unable to comprehend how the gigantic monster had risen to his feet. Despite our attacks having weakened him, he still stood strong.

A shockwave from his black aura knocked me back. I hit the ground with a thud, but luckily, I regrouped with Axel and Christine unscathed.

As I inspected the Radogaan's black aura, I felt the heat radiating from his body as he released the scorching virus. His wounds were healing. I could see his wings had grown wider, and his muscles had bulked up.

It shocked all of us into silence as the Radogaan's eyes blazed with fury.

Radogaan charged forward, the wind whipping past him as he pointed his devil's horns ahead. A sudden gust of wind blew past us as we prepared to dodge the Radogaan's dash attack.

Suddenly, time slowed down, and I saw numerous bullets flinging over the monster's head amidst the chaos.

DADADADADADADADA

Gunfire ricocheted off Radogaan's head on all sides, creating a sound akin to bullets firing in midair. Then someone used a spinning wheel effect to cut Radogaan's spine.

SHING SHING SHING SHING SHING

At last, someone slashed Radogaan's waist with a greatsword, sending him crashing to the ground with a brutal thud.

JSLOSH

The three unknown Authonoids attacked Radogaan in various blind directions, causing him to bleed out in pain and become crippled to the ground for the second time with blood almost flooded the green grass.

It left us astounded—who the hell suddenly attacked Radogaan? We all slowly put down our weapons as we tried to figure out who had taken our job without warning.

A gust of wind kicked up as the three Authonoids suddenly touched down on the ground. They made superhero landings and revealed their true identities with a flourish.

It was the Red Cheetah Squadron! The elite Authonoid squadron of Minerva was well-known for their brutality and agility. The tension was palpable in their presence.

There stood Squadron Leader Joshua, exuding self-assurance. He had a reputation for being a cold-blooded killer who wouldn't think twice about popping someone's head off if they so much as crossed him. A deadly tactic he even used was firing some bullets into the air and allowing it to bounce toward an unsuspecting foe.

Scott had a vibrant personality, and his enthusiasm was palpable, completely in contrast to the latter. His towering height, muscular physique, and dreadful greatsword made sure no one was foolish enough to test him, despite his clumsiness.

Veronica's sadistic behavior and psychotic tendencies made her an intimidating opponent. She would even go crazy and force her subordinates to bark like dogs to prove they were obedient. She was a supporter, or a healer at least, but her swift slashing technique with her dreadful dual blades could slash anything in no second, which contradicted her medical ability.

Joshua approached us with a seriousness that was almost palpable, and his dark blue eyes were like a million stabs into our eyes.

"You inexperienced fools are not even close to being capable of taking down this monstrosity!"

His gaze was so intense that it felt like he was compelling us to retreat from the fight to prevent our foolish demise.

Veronica suddenly crossed her arms, her body radiating scorn, and disdained us.

"If you wish to stay alive, return to your fucking Basecamp or bark to me."

Red Cheetah's nerve in reprimanding us filled me with resentment. I let out a heavy sigh and spoke in an exasperated tone.

"Great. The one and only Red Cheetah Squadron, for your shitty, holier-than-thou mentality."

Joshua's temper flared as he heard my words, the sound of his anger echoing through the room. He glared even sharper, swiftly drew his pistol to my forehead, and threatened me.

"I will send you straight to hell if you keep nagging me with your ignorance."

Yet I defiantly chuckled in the face of their intimidation, exuding my trademark edginess without faltering.

"Heh, typical elitist Authonoids with rock-hard skulls and your shitty seniority attitudes."

I then grabbed Joshua's gun barrel, which was pressing against my forehead, and scorned him.

"And if that's what you want, come on! Go fucking shoot me!"

Axel stepped up behind me, his hand gently resting on my left shoulder, as if to keep me from doing something rash.

"Enough, leader! Leave this task to them! Let the Red Cheetah Squadron take care of that monster."

Christine's voice floated around me as she cushioned my arm, and I suddenly felt sure of my decision.

"Prioritize your safety first, leader. We don't want that monster to hurt you any further."

Yet Scott swaggered up to us, his wide, beaming smile exuding confidence as he stood tall and assured.

"It's alright, guys! We'll take care of that beast real quick."

I groaned in exasperation as Red Cheetah demanded our retreat instead of allowing us to aid in swiftly defeating the monster. I grumbled to myself as I left, the sound of my footsteps and my frustration being the only things filling the room.

"Fine… Black Vulture, out!"

They were forcing us to retreat for our own safety. Yeah, rules for us, but not for them bullshits. And if they fail to kill that monster, we will refuse to help them and let that monster devour them.

However, I would choose to support Scott over Joshua and Veronica due to his genuine nature and unwavering loyalty, qualities that distinguish him as a reliable companion. We felt a strong bond with him since we had been friends since middle school.

His clumsiness and naivety were obvious, but Authonoid was always up for a mission, making him an ideal companion.

Reluctantly, we acquiesced and hastened our journey towards the safe zone. But we feel a contagious sense of impending danger from the monster they were about to confront. I can feel it in my bones that one of them will falter.

We started our journey back to the safe zone with the sound of the infected Radogaan's cries echoing in our ears. Thenceforth, I expected them to kill that monster quickly and make it back in one piece.

However, I predicted that the enraged, infected Radogaan would wound one of them severely during the battle.

What's the point if I sit back and they blame me for being apathetic? Just because I watched one of my friends die when they were restraining me?

And what was the point of standing up and helping my friends if they blamed me again for my nonchalant actions?

It's not my problem; it's their problem that they were being massive dicks with their bullshit, which I've had enough of. And all I could do was give them the middle finger and let the devils fuck their asses hard.
