Chapter 8

Du Yue stood up and patted the dirt on her buttocks.

Then he tapped Scaramouche on the shoulder and said, "Let's go together, bro. You don't seem very smart, but I was thinking maybe we could go with someone. It's better than wandering aimlessly in the deep woods of these mountains. At least it's safer this way. By the way, do you remember who threw you in here?"

Scaramouche looked up at him. Then he shook his head slowly.

"OK. I guess you don't either. Do you want me to pull you up?" Du Yue said.

Scaramouche didn't look at him again. He stood up on his own and patted the dirt.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Du Yue scratched her head a little awkwardly.

This guy's out of his mind. I was just trying to help him. Why am I embarrassed? Maybe it's because he's so good looking. Yes, that must be the case.

Du Yue thought to himself. He found reasons to ignore the embarrassment.

"It's almost evening now and the sun is starting to set over there. Let's find a place to stay first. I don't know if there are any predators or venomous snakes around here at night, but there are a lot of mosquitoes. I was lucky enough to find a cave for one night yesterday. I marked the trees along the way. we should be able to walk back to the cave if we follow the marks. Today I wanted to walk around and see if I could find my way back, but I found everything, and the more I looked, the more scared I got. It's a good thing I met you. I'm not doing it for nothing. Let's go now. We won't be able to see clearly when the sun goes down."

Scaramouche nodded and walked behind him.
