Save Almyre
Warrior Free Party

Warrior Free Party

The exterior of the castle is unquestionably stunning, but the interior? Even more magnificent.

It’s floor made out of ivory coloured marble, which contrasts with the gold plated ceiling, supported by pillars. A red carpet stretches from the entrance all the way to a set of stairs. A large chandelier gives a finishing touch to the rather elaborate space.

The castle is also full of hustle and bustle. Heroes gather around, conversing with what seems to be high-ranking generals of Almyre. Another person with a relatively simpler clothes also stands in the middle.

“I’ve been waiting for you, Hero. My name is Gus, and I’m in charge of the classes here in Almyre. Nem is quite a formidable demon, so we need more specialised Heroes to work together in order to defeat him. Now, you can approach the masters of the class you are interested in.”

“Huh? I guess we’re on the right track then? What about the weird happenings in Rivermore?” Kris comments.

“It seems that nobody notices any change except us.” Anna replies. "And while we're here, we might as well change our class."

Changing our class? That’s nuts. Scratch that, everything that has happened for the past few hours has been bizarre. With us suddenly being able to walk and talk by ourselves. The fact that other people are still unable to “snap” out of their scripted dialogues and duties and the otherworldly phenomenon that happened in Rivermore. It’s too much. It’s not that long ago that I started getting aware of my surroundings. But at that time, I can’t free myself from the influence that kept me standing there.

How long did I stood there actually? If the only thing I did was standing there muttering the same exact sentences, how do I manage to master a language, and moreso, communicate it with other people? Who am I?

"Hello! Earth to Dan! Are you pondering on which class to choose?” Kris slaps my shoulder, grinning.

“Hmm… I don’t know, I’m not even sure what I’m good at.”

“How about a Warrior? It kinda suits you.” Kris laughs.

“Ew no, literally every protagonist always becomes a Warrior, I'll pick anything else besides that.”

“Well, how about the opposite of warriors?” Anna mentions. “I just picked the blacksmith class, it seems interesting, and I got a hammer and a cart! Maybe you should approach the woman with the black suit, she seems to have the right class for you.”

I nod my head, and walk closer to the woman. She seems… intimidating. She wears a long tight black garment, black pants, and a mask, a clear contrast with her pale skin and bright, yellow eyes.

“Hey Hero. Are you interested in joining the assassin class?” the woman asks. “It may be quite intimidating at first, but it’s a very fun class to take. Yo will also get your first set of daggers and uniform after you join.”

I’m not sure why, but the class seems to resonate deeply with me. She’s also... weirdly familiar. Did I meet her before? Does she know anything about my past?

"Okay, I'll join.”

"Very well Hero. Here is your uniform and your first set of daggers. You are now eligible to access the assassin's skill tree. Once you have mastered all the techniques, you may go back here to upgrade your class."

"Congratulations Dan! You finally picked a class." Kris laughs.

"Thanks for waiting Kris." I reply sarcastically.

"Now that we’re finished, should we check on Rivermore?"
