Kill 100 Nuna(s)

Kill 100 Nuna(s)

The capital is, to put simply, breathtaking. There are no sight of wooden huts and cobblestone houses. Instead, Vera is peppered with castles, shops, and carts selling all kinds of items. Food, armour, weapons, you name it. Shopkeepers and Heroes crowd around the square, trading ingredients and loot they found from slaying demons. Everyone looks so elegant and stylish. Warriors and Knights wearing their new, gleaming armor. Stunning, intricate engravings etched onto their shields, making it all the more extravagant. The mages are just as fashionable. Tightly fit shirts, custom made robes, and lavish embroideries. Expensive.

I cannot help but to look at myself. White tee, leather pants, and an old black trench to complete the look. Decent, but nothing to brag about. Kris’s clothes also look fairly simple. He wears brown suspender pants and a beige coloured shirt that complements his blond hair quite nicely. Anna wears a plain white shirt and blue jeans. Honestly, none of our clothes are ugly or unwearable, although it wouldn’t hurt to buy some new, more stylish garments.

“It seems that many people are getting rich from slaying all these monsters. No wonder everyone refuses to kill Nem.” Kris says while gazing at the carts selling their newest equipment and apparel. I cannot hold myself back and begin looking around the shops with Kris.

"I know it's very fascinating to be in Vera but we need to tell the King about Rivermore." Anna says, pulling me and Kris to the castle at the far end of Vera.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

"Hold up Anna, there is a guy blocking the entrance." Kris says.

"Hello Hero! To get inside and change your class, you must first prove yourself worthy by killing 100 Nunas located just outside the Western Gates of Vera."

"What? Are you kidding me? 100? What kind of sick joke is this.”

Anna grabs my shoulders, sighing, "Let's just go and get this over with."

"I-i can't kill them, they're just so cute!"

"No Kris, they're demons!" Anna replies, frustrated.

Can I blame Kris though? They are so adorable! Cream coloured fur, short floppy ears and big, round eyes-

“OW! It bit me!” Kris shouts.

Anna grabs Kris and starts shaking him “Are you an idiot? They’re monsters, not pets!”

Amidst the mayhem, more Nunas start gathering around us. Slowly opening their jaws, showing their sharp, jagged teeth. Their cute appearance is just a facade, luring gullible Heroes to be devoured.

“Good, now we don’t have to chase them around.” Anna pulls out her hammer, killing her first Nuna. It whimpers, then disappears, leaving tiny yellow orbs and a gold coin. The yellow orbs dart around before getting absorbed by Anna.

“Woah, what were those yellow stuff?” Kris asks, puzzled.

“Whatever it was, it made me stronger. And somehow, the Nuna also carried gold around.” Anna replies, picking up the coin.

“Then, we’re going to be rich killing all these Nunas!” I say excitedly, pulling out my sword.

“Those Nunas were stronger than I thought. And my shirt is ruined.” Kris sighs.

“Welcome back Hero! It seems that you have managed to kill 100 Nunas, here is your reward. You are now also eligible to change your class.” he says, handing out a coin bag.

“Reward? Yes, now I can buy a new shirt!” Kris exclaims.

Enthusiastically, I open up the bag, to find… 10 gold.

“10 gold coins… FOR ALL THAT?”

“Calm down Anna, how much gold did we get from killing the Nunas?”

“Around 59… I think?” Kris says.

“So our combined total is 69 gold? How much is the cheapest shirt?”

“70 gold.”
