Dunkan takes upon the weapon, and when he does, that insane thing instantly crumble and only where he held was left, but looking totally different, just like a piece of old wood.
"I am very sorry kid, but it must be kept going." Those are the Creature last words, as it lost all strength and falls besides him on the ground.
Dunkan is very confused by many things, why would it ask for pardon? Why the weapon just crumbled? And where's the old man?
Dunkan is scared of what he may had done, and confusion is taking over as he tries to think on what he will do now. But, from out of nowhere something happens on his mind.
Instantly, what may be countless years of memories and experiences flashes on his head, too many things, and way too fast. He feels many things, thing that aren't his, so much happiness and hope, and the despair and sadness that came from it's loss.
None of that made sense for him, there are so many things going on that he can't keep on knowing what they are, he could only feel, yet, it was still too much for him, it would had been for a adult, imagine a nine years old kid.
And as such, he falls and as his visions darkens, he sees the Old Dog again, looking at him with a face hard to describe, as if he watched something inevitable just happen, and before Dunkan truly lost his conscience, he asks himself, why he would have such a specific interpretation, not that it would matter, since, for what he is going to think in the future, this is the last time that he saw him.

The Princess was ready and where she must be, with the cover of the night and the only people there being the wild life, the pirates landed unchecked at just a little distance from the coastal city.
"Okay you bastards, I will say again, you all are to ravage as you may see fit, but, don't you fucking dare touch the people before I take a look at every single one!" He says emanating hostility and some kind of obsession.
The crew looked kinda surprised by the way their captain was acting, he had always being a strange one, but since he proposed to plunder this coastal city on nowhere, he was really acting suspiciously, they really valued their lives and only followed him because, by how eccentric he was, he wasn't the type to fail.
But his obsession in telling them that same thing, over and over again, on the last days with so much hostility, was bordering on being too much, they are pirates, if they wanted to keep hearing tyrannical orders every single time, then they would had gone to the fucking navy.

Whatever the Captain or the crew may be thinking, they walked as silent as they could before truly reaching the city.
"Hey, I have been wondering." A pirate with wolf like features asks another one that has bull like horns.
"And what that may be?" He answer, but he is clearly annoyed.
"It's just that, don't you think that since we came here, it's only getting brighter instead of darker?"
His annoyance is replaced by surprise, but since they had been walking in silence till now, everyone heard them, and as such, they all begin to talk about the strange phenomenon.
And it was then, that the star had fallen, and with it's fall, a great light and sound is seen and heard at where the lighthouse have been.
With that, the Captain stops his attempts in making silence and cry out loud:
"Forget about the element of surprise, now is time for the rule of fear!" His voice cry in anger, he knows that he need to be fast, only People of The Path are able to do that kind of thing, and he doesn't want to take too much time here and ending up attracting their attention, much less does he want to have his prey stolen away from him, together with his once in a lifetime opportunity.
With this they run, the crew was especially happy about the change, and ready to take out all the frustration piled up from having to be a board of a ship for so much time, and poor are the souls that will be forced do take it.

As he lays there, on what it feels like ages, he sees the memories of many kinds of people's and things, but for some reason he is unable to maintain any of then, just like a dream. But there's only one exception, the memory of someone looking at a creature truly ancient and slowly rotting away with a humongous sword on it's abdomen.
It looked like a corpse, but it's face showed the opposite, it was alive and truly angered, it's expression was totally distorted in devilish hate as it looked above the clouds, many kinds of figures are up there, but they all are distorted and impossible to be discerned. The most surprising, the colossus was probably as big as a mountain, yet, on what was probably it's abdomen, a sword was piercing trough and just like the Creature that Dunkan though to be a star, that sword dwarfed the already enormous being.
It was nonsensical, physical, yet still abstract, the whole situation was extremely dream like, but Dunkan still felt like those were memories that someone did truly lived.
It was then that it happens, the great colossus extended his decrepit left hand upon the viewer direction, it said incomprehensible words, yet, those words that he couldn't understand emanated so much power from only being said, that everything there seemed to had begin to change.
From it's index finger, a great yellow light with a dark aura of neverending feeling of eternal rot, had begin to form in the shape of a impossible character of a unknown language.
It was then that Dunkan felt it, the strange character was gone an he instantly felt something. Up to this point, he had felt many things from the strange dreams, but there was always some kind of wall separating then, he was here and the dreams there, but the pain that he was feeling now was different, it felt so much worse than anything that he had ever felt or would feel, but the pain would never go to such a extreme to make him lose his sense of self, always just enough to be a perpetual suffering.
It felt really personal to be only on a dream, and he instinctively knew somehow what was happening, the colossus was drawing something on his very soul if that even made sense, and the thing, since he was already unconscious, he would be forced to feel that extreme pain till it's very end.
Minutes that felt like ages had gone by, since Dunkan was finally free from the torment, but when he looked up to the colossus, he realized the obvious, while it missed many features, the sword clearly was part from the weapon that he had seen and tried to held.
But before he could get a better look, those same indiscernible creatures on the sky, had begin to launch incomprehensible attacks that seemed to be made out of light. As the attacks made from light fall on the colossus, everything begin to vanish and the dream like reality ends, leaving Dunkan with a burning hatred inside his heart, a hatred born from his ignorance, the same ignorance that makes him unable to understand anything that has happened.
Dunkan finally open his eyes to what felt like a really long time, the Old Dog was nowhere to be seen an the Creature body lay down lifeless. He was slowly processing all that as happened on the last hours, but something call his attention, from the very same city that he had lived, he could hear screams and see fire and smoke raising above, without hesitation he begins to run, only thinking about his older sister security.
